I did this a couple weeks ago with a 21 JLU sport with 37's and no lockers. The part where the other sport winched up, they could of made it up no issue if they knew proper momentum and throttle control. I did that section with no spotter, never doing this trail, aired down to 12 psi and didnt spin a tire. Wheeling without lockers has taught me that 98% of the time lockers arent needed. However, they are very useful and I do plan on locking my axles at some point as the trails i want to do are increasing in difficulty. Love the videos though!
@@TrailTraveler oh ok. better to be safe then risk breaking anything. Does he have the open diff or the anti spin? My jeep doesn't have the the anti spin so it has the M200 instead of the M220.
@@TrailTraveler I have the avata 2 and air 3. I tried flying full manual but ended up scrapping the idea as I don't have a lot of use for acro. It looks great in flight though. I can always tell full acro when someone flys. Looks very cool. Headed to Moab next month and plan on taking lots of aerial video. I watch your videos as a trail guide haha. I enjoy them and they are very helpful and engaging.
Mirror gulch is where I broke my transmission mount in 2014. We did all the hard trails that year. At my urging. I ran out of prep time and was installing my front Aussie locker at my buddy’s house there in Moab. Only to discover the roll pin for the cross pin in the diff had a too small punch broken off in it. (Not my work) It was either miss a day leaving the diff with a shop or put it back together and wheel with just my rear LSD. Anyway, had to rachet strap the trans/t-case to the cross member to finish the day. Missed the next day anyway fixing it. Luckily Ken had a stick welder for me to make my repairs.
I watched in anticipation of whether you'd have a go at Widowmaker. I've mountainbikes that trail about 20 times over the past couple of decades. That obstacle keeps getting harder as it continues to get eroded at the bottom. Great drone work by the way.
❤❤ I can really feel moab in this video. I’ve been once. But this brings it back how pretty. Thanks for sharing.

He is on 35s and we tried a few times but he couldn’t get it..having a little drama is good for storytelling though
@@TrailTraveler No great story starts with "Everything when as planned."

It was a really fun trail in my ZR2
Did the driver of the sport try to do the obstacle it was winched on? Even without lockers the JLs and unbelievably capable.
He gave it a honest effort, I just wasn't in position to film those attempts

@@Roblet217 Pretty sure it is the open diff if I recall.
@@TrailTraveler Ok. I was just curious on how the axles are holding up with the larger tires. Looks like they are! Take care and happy wheeling! 🙂
You flying manual FPV. What setup are you flying?
The two drones used in this video were the DJI Mavic 3 and the DJI Avata. I have since upgraded to the Avata 2

We are glad you enjoy them!
I love your shirt
Haha, thanks!
@@TrailTraveler 😝
I need more of the FPV footage! That was unreal!
I have 99 xj with 4.5in lift and 33s. You think i can do that without doing the hard obstacles?
It might be a bit tricky in a few spots, but with picking good lines, you should be able to get through it
