I have just been smiling at these old childhood memories!! My daughter said her teacher has this on DVD and is teaching her class! God I wish those days could come back once more!
Brings back so many memories, growing up in the 90s. Use to stay over at my grandma's and me and my brothers use to watch this before bed . I hold those memories dear in my heart
My childhood was watching this on Saturday mornings o how I miss those great times life was beautiful then super friends kids these days will never understand :-)
I miss watching all the School House Rock shorts, I haven't seen this in years!! I remember watching this in high school in one of my classes(which taught about the function of different government branches), and that was the last time I watched School House Rock. Thnx 4 uploading this, you've helped bring back good memories :)
Watching this to help myself study for a poli sci exam on Congress, the Presidency, and the Judiciary. Our essay is literally writing "How a Bill Becomes a Law."
How many of us can sing just about all of the School House Rock songs. I know I can...and sadly the youth of today...can't. *Oh - how many of us have actually sung a song to ourselves to remember what "something" was?* "Interjections! For excitement or emotion!"
Debra Enderle I don't know... I mean where are the buckets of cash from the corporation? I wish a bill was as small as a rolled up piece of paper. Now the are hundreds of pages long with all sorts of mystery things snuck in. We need to get back to bills like this.
What a great teaching tool! If only other concepts could be learned in an entertaining, endearing 3 minute video, that people enjoy looking at several years after they've first seen it (must be about 30 years in my case).
@darkhunterfan101 I'm not sure, but the only singer credited for this song on a DVD I have is Jack Sheldon. It's possible he did all of the voices. This series really had some heavy hitters. Words and Music for "I'm Just a Bill" were by David Frishberg - who was and is a well known jazz pianist and songwriter. Other songs ("Interjections' and "The Preamble" come to mind) were by Lynn Aherns who later wrote such Broadway hits as "Ragtime," and "Seusical,."
omg this helped soooo much beleive it or not!!! im in highschool and sometimes its hard to rememvber the little things our teachers tell us!!! with a song its a lot!!! easier!!!
Yeah, I really think that that's the most important aspect of a healthcare system, to treat as many as possible regardless of their financial situation. I mean there are flaws in certain aspects of NHS treatment, just like there are with every country's health system, but I love that over here anyone can make an appointment with a GP or walk into a hospital and they don't even ask about insurance or whether you're a British citizen, it's absolutely free for everyone here who needs health care.
First the bill starts off with an idea of people. Then they create it and then show it to the house of representatives and then if it passes it goes to the senate and the same thing happens again, if that passes then it goes to the president and then he has the choice to veto the bill and start the process all over again, but its way harder to win this time. But if you go to the same people who voted you good, then you will become a law. Why did I sound like a teacher?
I remember these videos as a kid. But of the School House Rock videos that were played on air were the "America Rock" videos played in Canada? Or were the SHR videos played in Canada at all? Just want to know!
@Retrofanatic10 I could sing all of them verbatim. This one was my favourite..as my first name is William. However, ironically I am not an American. I am a Canadian that grew up in a border city
Conjunction Junction, what's your function? Hooking up phrases, words, and clauses! I am only 11 and I know that song! Oh, and I know "8 double 4," skip part of the song, "oh how it would be great to skate a figure 8." I would watch more of the school house rock videos, but the videos won't load up. It always says "error try again.' Anyone got ideas??
I thought UK health insurance was real bad, as in women pregnant being turned away from going to hospitals because there are often times no rooms available. Also if you are in certain distance from a hospital you are not provided with ambulances. Also heard it's breaking down, and taxes are high there. From what I heard in economics, "there is no such thing as free lunch." As I don't live in either countries how's the systems over there?
There's some darkness behind this video 0:48 the school bus stopping at the train track... a lazy copy paste to explain: DeVon Andrus of Cedar City wrote, "I endorse everything said about the safety on school buses. However, there are a few of us who remember a day in December 1938 when the worst school bus accident in the history of the United States occurred in Sandy, Utah. As a result of this accident, laws were passed in every state regulating bus travel when crossing railroad tracks. … Bus drivers were required to stop and open the door, look both ways and listen before crossing the tracks."
The bolsheviks lives on with the Don, King Con. POTUS OVER. Milt Friedman once said the role of government was to protect the drug cartels, but drugs aren't the only immoral prohibition, imo.
@PIRATESOFTHEC3 How am i being arrogant? I was just saying that enjoy school house rock , and I didn't get why so many people were acting like it was so terrible. I don't see how that is considered arrogant.
What's funny is I was in Target the other day and I found a t-shirt that has Bill sitting on the capital steps. I had to buy it and I'm wearing it on election day :)

dude Schoolhouse rock is the bomb. I remember watching this in middle school. The ENTIRE class loved it. Its so cool
Absolutely THE BEST explanation of the process on how a bill becomes a law.
Debra Enderle There is some information they left out. Even if the president vetoes a bill, It can still become a law if Congress overrides the veto.
Debra Enderle I don't know... I mean where are the buckets of cash from the corporation? I wish a bill was as small as a rolled up piece of paper. Now the are hundreds of pages long with all sorts of mystery things snuck in. We need to get back to bills like this.

@darkhunterfan101 I'm not sure, but the only singer credited for this song on a DVD I have is Jack Sheldon. It's possible he did all of the voices.

Just want to know!
OH YES! 2:02
It's funny how forms of "childrens" education can be better than formal education. I learned a lot from Bill Nye, and I learned from this video.

"Bill" was voiced by Ray Charles. I didn't find this out this until after he died. Makes me enjoy this song more.

It still feels like yesterday I was sitting in that 4th grade classroom listening to this.
takes me back
I wish we had bills and laws these days. Bill's new name is Barry: Emporer Barry. Laws mean nothing anymore in our banana republic.
Have you picked up a clue yet. BTW, that should be "Emperor".
The bolsheviks lives on with the Don, King Con. POTUS OVER.
Milt Friedman once said the role of government was to protect the drug cartels, but drugs aren't the only immoral prohibition, imo.
I like it
Man...I haven't seen this in like, 30 years. Was this on Sesame Street?
no, it was a commercial that came on Saturday mornings
It's 😇
School House Rocks. They were little cartoons between real cartoons on Saturday morning.

Be happy you dont have to watch some b.s. pbs special and you get to watch something as awesome as Schoolhouse Rock
@PIRATESOFTHEC3 How am i being arrogant? I was just saying that enjoy school house rock , and I didn't get why so many people were acting like it was so terrible. I don't see how that is considered arrogant.
