Whilst many Skechers lifestyle designs may have a well deserved reputation for copying other designs, it's great to see their running division innovating with real smart design.
My experience with over a dozen pairs of Skechers: The upper will last forever, it will look new for years. The outsole is the weak point, and wears down and out before the rest of the shoe. The hyperburst midsole keeps it's liveliness for hundreds of miles, but will disintegrate as soon as it hits the pavement due to outsole wearing-through. Hyperburst is strangely magical, both cushioned AND responsive; varies between models, with different durometers and thickness. My fav EZ and long run shoe is the MaxRoad, and the 5th version just came out! As Ed mentions, the thickness of the outsole rubber is suspect. If Kurt is reading this; please make the rubber twice as thick on the main wear areas (lateral heel and metatarsal-phalanges break). The rest of the shoe can stay as-is to save weight. Looking forward the the Ride-9.
In terms of daily trainer, is Razor excess much better than SL20?

The Skechers is so critical it made the Boston 9 gain weight and size in version 10. It’s just a bully in the shoe sanctuary.

I've run in the Skechers Go Run Max Road 5 twice so far. They're just out. They have more Hyperburst plus a carbon plate. They are a nice long run shoe. They are very comfortable. I wrote the first review on Skecher's website.
I do like the outsole a lot. I feel reassured when I see the name of a tyre manufacturer on an outsole for sure! Less sure about the 'super critical' midsole though - I don't want to be reminded that I don't phone my mum enough and to be constantly asked what I'm doing with my life 😂

I probably have 70 or 80 miles on these. I look forward to wearing them. More comfortable than the next2 and more forgiving than the hyperion tempo
I will never understand too short or too long laces. That should be the easiest part of making a shoe!

I like light shoes with a pronounced rocker in the forefoot, I especially enjoy them in Tempo run. This shoe seems to fit really well 👍
ASICS glide ride 2 my G is awesome pair of long distance easy paced shoe . Comfortable also . 👍🏾👍🏾

I used speed elite on dirt, trails. Totally destroyed bottom and its still fine.

I was really excited for this shoe but I think this is actually my least favorite Skechers Performance shoe out of the full line up that I own. I don't find a spot for this one in my line up really. (For reference, I have the Speed Elite, Razor Elite, GRR 7+, GRR 8 Hyper, Razor 3, Razor +, MaxRoad 4, MaxRoad 5, Horizon Vanish, Razor Excess, and GRR 9 OTW.)
I know we're months out, here ,but what's your favorite?
@@TischTosh MaxRoad 5 and the new Razor Excess 2 are both great for daily miles or long runs. Razor 3/+ are really fun shoes too.

Does it have more impact protection than the brooks Hyperion tempo ?
No for me the Hyperion tempo is an upgrade on this one.
