- G'day and welcome back. In episode 2 I headed to Terrigal on the NSW Central coast of Australia at sunrise to paint this one. My palette is the same as episode one's palette in that video's description.
Thanks everyone for tuning in and I will have another video coming very soon. Catcha later :)

Very nice capture of the light. I usually only see the light from the sunrise on my bedroom wall.
G'day James, Thanks so much Mate. Yes same me. Also, I don't get the sun much where I actually live. I've only got windows at one side of the house. Cheers James 🎨👍
Love the splash of thick paint of the sun against the flat sky
G'day Tracey, Yeah I think with the sun n skies the sun needs to pop the painting. I'm always trying new things and if the right amount of paint on the sun it's a great painting. Thanks and much appreciated Tracey 🎨👍
You nailed this one. I bet when you got back to the studio and looked at the painting it took you right back to the moment. The lighter rocks in the foreground against the darker rocks further out really captured it.
G'day Sandra, Yeah I like the contrast between the tones it worked well for this one. Overall so far so good with the first two paintings in this series. The third one wasn't as good though but I'm still releasing the video today. Cheers Sandra 🎨🎨👍
The sky in this one is just spot on. But I also love the texture of the foreground. Good one Tez!
G'day Mel, Thanks so much and much appreciated. Yeah this painting turned out ok. I was pleased with the result of this one. Cheers Mel, Happy painting this weekend 🎨🎨👍
Fabulous sunrise- it makes all the difference on site, I think, versus done in the studio.
G'day Sharron, Thanks so much and much appreciated. Yeah that's right it doesn't take much to get set up outside and once you try it you never look back. The studio has it's spot though to do a more refined painting and have a cuppa as well. Cheers 🎨🎨👍
Looks good one of the best thankyou Errol.
G'day Errol, Thanks so much Mate. Yeah it turned out ok this one. I like it too. Cheers Mate 🎨🎨👍
Talk about learning something - Your thoughts on how the sunrise affects the light on those rocks is spot on. Silhouette versus sunlight (low light) from your memory of that fleeting moment - well done. Consider an earlier arrival to capture more of that sunrise. You really captured that sky though.
G'day Jim, Thanks so much Mate. Yeah I could see it while I was painting this one with the silhouette in the middle ground but then the muted mauves and reds in the foreground. It's a forever learning curve ain't it. Thanks and happy painting Mate this week 🎨👍
Great job anticipating where the lights are going to be so your not having to chase after the light
G'day Rick, Yeah it was right there and easy to paint. Not one of my best though Mate. Cheers 🎨🎨👍
Wonderful painting I love the sky. Im really enjoying this series. Thank you Tez
Thanks James, Much appreciated Mate. Yeah the first two paintings turned out good then I couldn't get the rhythm going with the next two as well but hopefully this week I'll do a great final painting. Cheers Bro 🎨🎨👍
Love the textures in your work. Definitely the style of artwork I'm drawn to. Keep up the good work.✌
G'day Patrick, Much appreciated Mate. Yeah it's a tricky thing for a lot of artists as we develop hey. I found by the time I hit the middle ground I started to work thicker and thicker depending on the overall painting. Cheers Mate 🎨👍
That's lovely gestural knife work in the rocks. It's an evocative work mate, top show.
G'day Rod, Thanks so much Mate. Yeah that was a good painting and I got lucky with the wind too. There's something special about capturing a sunrise on canvas and especially if it turns out. Cheers Mate 🎨🎨👍
Very hard to paint, things change so quickly. I wait for the sunset!
G'day Peter, Thank you so much Mate and much appreciated. Yeah that's exactly right. Sunrises are up and gone within about 10 minutes. I find them easier than sunsets. But in saying that I haven't painted many sunsets, I should give one a go one day. Cheers 🎨👍
WOW! That is so beautiful, love it ❤️👍
G'day Annette, Thanks so much and much appreciated. I enjoyed painting this one too. Cheers 🎨👍
you stunned me with this one.
G'day Tony, Thanks and much appreciated Mate. Got a few more videos coming soon. Cheers Mate 🎨👍
This is so good...... I am lost for words.
G'day Gus, Thanks so much Mate and much appreciated 🎨🎨👍
Love it and im a hard judge. And I especially like it in that board I think it looks better then the canvas.
G'day Jasmine, Thanks so much. Yeah I like using both but the canvases seem to sell better. Cheers 🎨👍
Vlooks good lovit from errol
what a beaut
G'day Mate, Thanks so much and much appreciated 🎨🎨👍
Nice sharing, subscribed 🌹👍🌹
G'day Helhely, Thanks so much and much appreciated Mate. Thx for subbing every little bit helps me share my passion. 🎨🫶
This is a wonderful painting. You have captured the mood very well. I like the colours of the rocks. ,🎨🖌️🙂
I tried oil painting today but how do you wash the brush out between colours? I tried water but the colour didn't come out.
G'day Pinklady, Thanks so much and much appreciated. Yeah I think also I got the mood in this one. Yeah with the pinkish rocks I used cad red, ultramarine blue, burnt sienna, titanium white and alizarin crimson.
Yeah what you need is mineral turpentine to clean the brushes. And to thin my paintings I use pure gum turpentine. Once you get set up and things will get easier. Always here to help just pop me a message. Cheers 🎨👍
@@PleinAirAdventureswithTezDower Hi Tez thanks for the tips on the rock colours. I finished a landscape painting today. I am really looking forward to seeing your next painting. Good evening!
G'day Pinklady, That's awesome. Well done for painting a landscape. I miss landscapes a lot too. Yeah I'm realising part 3 of my 5 part series of capturing the light tomorrow. Then next week after these videos I'll try something different. No worries always happy to help. Cheers 🎨🎨👍
