What Matt said around 6:20 and after really hit home for me. I lost my dad last October to cancer and growing up, me and him had the roughest relationship. For YEARS we weren't on speaking terms, but after going to therapy and opening up to the idea of talking to him again, I did. That was the best thing I could've ever done. Unfortunately, at the same time I was gaining back my father, I was losing him at the same time.
I used to think it was cliche when people said, "Even if you have a falling out with your parents, find a way to talk to them." Now, I advocate for that.
The amount of grieving I've gone through physically and mentally and still go through since October has been something I don't wish on someone, but I know it's part of the process.
Thanks for speaking about this, Matt 💙
I lost my dad almost 16 years ago to cancer and it was really tough. My mom is still around though, even though she can be a giant pain in the ass she is awesome.
Trauma of any kind especially that severe trauma can even last a life time.
My dad passed away and step father and my brother along with some of my friends in the last decade

Sadly, my grandmother passed away when my mom was 5 years old. So, my mom didn't have a mother to have growing up. I feel bad for Team Extreme because this is incredibly tragic.
May she Rest In Peace 🙏🏾

I lost a daughter to a drunk driver.
I would love to make my relationship with my mam work again but my 'dad' (biologically) sexually molested me and mam sided with him... My whole family abandoned me, I don't blame mam for anything and I am not angry with her I just can't be round him..
