Bro I was 8 years old at the Richmond Coliseum watching this live. You could tell how serious it was by the reaction of the crew. He was lifted off his feet and the blood was everywhere

I remember when the ladder hit him I first didn't think anything happened, then Joey kept his hands over his face while sitting on the apron with blood coming out, that's when you saw something went terribly wrong!
Being backstage and watching this on the monitor as it hit live was terrifying. Seeing the reactions of the people nearby instantly let you know how real it was.

I love the hardy boys, but that was a reckless spot that you guys should’ve never done it happened too quick neither Morrison or mercury had a chance to block. They both took into the face except Joey, got the worst of it.
There was suppose to be a rematch ladder match at no way out 2007 with all 4 teams but it didn’t happen

It was advertised in the original match card for No Way Out

I've watched this on slow motion replay multiple times. The ladder didn't go straight up, it tilted, and Joey caught the high end, Morrison barely even got hit, he didn't protect his face either, he kinda just got lucky, while Joey did not.
I always wondered why Joey didn’t protect himself. Was it bravery or just a momentary lapse of confusion
He just blanked for a moment and paid the price.
Matt hardy and joey Mercury had two good matches together on smackdown. One before No Way Out and money in the bank qualifying match.

That move was too risky. And Joey Mercury pay the price for making a wrong moves. And if the moves botches Jeff could injured his tailbones and John and Matt could injured their throat or what worse their faces too.
Hardy boyz vs Nitro n Joey was underrated rivalry i loved this but was mad he messed up his face if that was the downfall of his career….
