No kidding, took two of us. One with a long extension(s) and 13mm swivel socket (between manifold and cross-member), the other with a finger on the bolt head ready to align the socket.
Listening to the background music just relaxing to a long day of hard thinking. I'm doing this on jack-stands and by myself. Taking out and rebuilding this 2001 cobra with only 40k miles on it. Cam timing chain broke ,2 valves stuck open, hit the piston. Heads are in pristine shape but the the 2 valves bent when it hit the piston. been trying to pull it for 3 days now. Gonna remove the bell housing bolts tomorrow. Just nervous and stressed on the reassembling part. I went into this with confidence but this is my 1st time rebuilding a engine. I have a manual book and I have researched it for weeks on weeks I could tell you every engine part there is and explain how to remove it, BUT I haven't done most of the work hands and I know its wayyyy easier to explain it than do it for most things. So i'm just replacing 2 valves and that 1 piston because all the other pistons look nice and shiny with no scratches when I cleaned the tops up with WD40. I'm really nervous about putting the bottom end back in correctly. If anyone has any links or advice on 4.6l DOHC bottom end rebuilding. comment them.
Everyone here is complaining about the starter being hard but for me its the top two transmission bolts....feels like the 13mm is slightly too big and just stripping it. I tried to use 1/2 but its too small. Lol um having a hellova day so decided to let my blood pressure settle for a bit and look for vids that might help.
Good, fast job!!! It is so, so easy with a lift =)..., and 2 guys too! noticed, that you did not use any torque wrench?/ No time?? What are torque numbers for transmission to engine bolts? How about clutch pressure unit to flywheel?? Thanks, youtheman =)
too many times see people install flywheel / flex plate bolts and do not use blue thread locker. I install every bolt then torque to spec then remove the bolts one by one in torque pattern and apply blue thread locker then torque each bolt separately this way it doesn't dry while torquing down, the only time I do not do this is when the owner of the car buys new flywheel bolts that have the thread locker already on them and there is no worry of it setting up too soon. never use red on flywheel bolts
Griffon 327 if I were to do this again I would of got ARP bolts and used blue thread locker. This car needs a clutch anyway so I may be doing that in the next month or two.
ARP bolts for rods and mains and head bolts and even for crank bolt (front) only because have seen front crank bolt shear more then once .. But OEM flywheel and clutch cover bolts are perfectly fine if in good shape and do not need to be ARP unless your at that ridiculous HP levels that demand the best of the best.. too many times I see people buying ARP water pump or oil pan or intake bolts ?? and why ? I can see intake bolts if they are used to hold down a twin screw blower etc.. but for fucks sake you don't need a set of $120 ARP bolts to hold on your oil pan or flywheel in you 105 hp Honda civic ..

Do you know what could cause my clucth pedal to vibrate so much on idle stand? Also a squick comming from trans when pedal vibrates. As soon as i put tension on pedal it stops.
MrTPAN23 possibly but the car had 60k miles and looks like they didn’t change the TOB. Or it was an aftermarket one and they didn’t grease it. I put 60k on the ford Racing one since this video no issue

The issue i'm dealing with is the engine is leveled out and i can't get the transmission the line up with the engine. Thinking i may have to remove the engine mounted nuts to get the engine to tilt back to line up with the trans.
nice but I have a question I have a 2002 gt but motor went so I am putting in a 2000 motor and has a 8 bolt crank can i switch to any transmission or will I have to find a 2000 transmission? my first Ford so am not sure how they interchange parts
i have a 96 gt convertible with manual t45 trans. i know sn95 clutches are heavy but if i change my 20 year old clutch cable with aluminum quadrant you think it will help
Excellent video on removing Tremec 3650 from the Mustang...One thing, how come you didn't at least get the flywheel resurfaced? Not knocking you, but you two went all that way.... It was still a great vidyo!!
Yes I have a quick question what do you use for a 98 Mustang Cobra that has a TKO transmission what kind of fluids do you use and what weight please get back to me
Nice video, I just finished doing the same thing to my 03. I was wondering what caused the TOB to go bad. Was it improperly adjusted? I've read that there needs to be a very small gap, while the clutch is not engaged. But I've also read that these TOB are designed to be in constant contact. There's lots of conflicting info out there. Which route did you guys go?
Well this just busted my bubble. I just bought a 2003 Mach 1 with the 3650 and it's toast. So I bought a unseen 3650 thinking installed consisted of dropping exaust and cross member and 4bolts out of tranny to release it from bell housingthen sliding the other tranny in and put it all back up!
Thanks for the video! There is just one thing that I didn't see in this video that I am curious about. Did you loosen the motor mounts in order to make the top bolts on the transmission more easily accessible?
@@tkoresto have you ever actually done one, using the silicone like alot of people say to do to make it work? Im just wondering if thats safe and actually holds up
What was the symptoms of it going bad to begin with? Asking because I'm having some problems with my 07 GT. Not sure if it's transmission or clutch tho 🤔
You have to change your car computer, or reprogram it. Because it only know shift automatically. In auto cars, your computer tells transmission when to shift
tko resto ironically I've never done one in the air , only on the ground. my t56 I did in the air , and just cake lol super easy because of the bell housing separates.

Hector Mora I’m having that same problem now it’s your clutch fork or pivot ball or Maybe throwout bearing
Hector Mora it’s vibrate in the pedal n soon as you put a lil pressure on it it stops
spray some lithium grease to lube up the pivot ball / bearing.

Good job. I watch this video because someone on craigslist wants to pay $300 for trans swap.....lmao😂
have you ever done an automatic transmission to manual conversion? if so how difficult is it?
video is coming soon on a 4.6
You have to change your car computer, or reprogram it. Because it only know shift automatically. In auto cars, your computer tells transmission when to shift
How much is a job like this
so you reused the old spec clutch. you could say you've RE-spec it
