Yes indeed Dave one bad battery will pull the others down, God bless Dave on his knees the whole time !! Happy new year Angie and dave!!!!
@@jeffbronowicz3264 yeah I’m not sure that battery is bad, I think it wasn’t getting charged because the positive side of the cable had so much resistance in it. 🔧🔧🔧 yeah my cardboard creeper helps, but my knee sure was feeling it after I was done 😂😂😂 thanks for watching 👍🏻🎥🎥 Happy New Year’s to you too
Love seeing these updates! The battery got'r done!
@@DriveTFY thanks 🙌🏼 we appreciate it 👍🏻🔧🔧🔧 we are trying to knock all these problems out 🔧🔧🔧 thanks for watching 👍🏻🎥🎥

@@CamshaftGarage cracks us up too 😂😂😂 I think ours is going to be rain, it’s supposed to warm up a few degrees and it will be a soaking rain for a few days. Should find out if cab leaks 😂😂😂🔧🔧🔧
@andhotrodshop I've got my fingers crossed for you hopefully no more leaks
@ me too 😂😂
@@andhotrodshopHopefullu not 💁♂️👀🤷♂️
hopefully not, but we will all find out together 😂😂
Awesome videos my freinds God bless thank you lord for today.❤❤
@@Silverrodo8104 thanks 👍🏻🙌🏼 thanks for watching 👍🏻🎥🎥 and yes Thank you Lord, Thank you for today 🙏🏻🙏🏻
Good job making sure that the batteries and cables are not doing their job.
Next you need to know that that's a B model CAT.
Where you're at it's not going to start below 32 degrees....
You should investigate the block heater and see if it's operating properly.
And when you're ready for the rest of the list on Gertrude contact me.
@@randywhelan8944 what was the difference on a B block and a C block? How do you look and tell the difference? I have measured resistance on block heater, it is working. I just have to remember to plug it up the day before I want to use it 😂😂 I will take all the info you got, I use every bit of knowledge I have and all that I can borrow too 🙌🏼👍🏻 thanks for watching 👍🏻🎥🎥
@@andhotrodshop I'm no expert but I seem to remember something like the head bolts on the B model are regular hex bolts whereas the C model uses some king of spline style bolt? Maybe someone else could confirm.
@ will check into that 👍🏻👊🏼🔧🔧🔧 thanks 👍🏻
Enjoyed the video, have a Happy New Year...
@@allendodson9881 thanks 👍🏻 Happy New Year to y’all too. Thanks for watching 👍🏻🎥🎥
u need 1 new batt/u can repair the cables
@@robertstory7971 I’m thinking the other battery would come back if I left it on charger long enough. When I get around to replacing cable, I’m going to try and use one continuous cable instead of 3 separate ones 👍🏻🔧🔧🔧 thanks for watching 👍🏻🎥🎥
@@andhotrodshop that might work
You guys need to do something with that air tank above the batteries because that’s gonna cause you problems down the road they’re cheap enough to change that’s for sure.
@@arrowkart4j I know it’s terrible isn’t it 🔧🔧🔧 got any recommendations who to buy one from? It’s crazy because all the other tanks look great. Maybe they got changed at some point 👍🏻🔧🙌🏼 Thanks for watching 👍🏻🎥🎥
Not for nothing. Next time you get batteries. Get group 31. Top stud style. Of course you will have to change the cables. You might also get a battery shutoff to shut all the power to the truck. Since you don't drive the truck every day. That will save the batteries. Good Luck with your project. Stay safe. 🇺🇲 🙏
@@charlesferebee263 yes sir i have already checked they stock the batteries at local Napa along with lug style battery cables. I’m just not ready to take that hit to the wallet just yet 😂😂💸💸💸💸 and I found a master disconnect that will take the amperage from Flaming River. We use their stuff on hot rods 🔧🙌🏼👊🏼🔧🔧. You got the right plan, just don’t know if that will happen this winter 👍🏻 thanks for watching 👍🏻🎥🎥
@@andhotrodshopIt’ll happen. Just keep counting y’all’s blessings!😌👌🙏 Hope to see those new batteries, which will prolly run $225 each so yeah, gonna be a heckuva hicky in your wallet but well worth it in the long run. Glad to see you’ve got a good start on checking those out before you decide on what you want to do. Hope to see y’all on the next one. Many blessings.
yes those batteries will hurt the wallet 😂😂💰💰💰
@@andhotrodshop To an extent. 😁👌
I would put those expensive seats under the tree and sit on them with my coffee
@@timoneill2451 😂😂😂👊🏼👍🏻🙌🏼 that’s just funny right there 😂😂 those seats are as big as our tree 🌲😂 thanks for watching 👍🏻🎥🎥
Dave also get rid of the metal air supply tank cause it is going to rot from the inside out change them to a aluminum tank now just saying from experience
@@johncloutier623 yeah primary tank is rough shape, got any recommendations on where to get replacement tank? 🔧🔧🔧 thanks for watching 👍🏻🎥🎥
Just letting you know that the most common problem with peterbilt trucks and mine was a 1995 and a 1999 the cables would corrode and over charging batteries then short out and catch fire so save yourself time and energy replace all cables and upgrade your batteries now
@@johncloutier623 yeah I have always heard about the Peterbilt fires, resistance and corrosion do bad things with electricity 🔧🔧🔧👍🏻👊🏼🙌🏼
That can happen while jump starting
lately i haven't had to use the jump box, i think we made big improvements in starting Gertrude
How about posting the mfg's name and Model # of your CCA tester? Thanks!
@@montehyler my battery tester is Suner Power brand, doesn’t have a model number. Just says 12V battery tester with AH/CCA mode. I have had this one since 2019 and it still works 👍🏻🙌🏼🔧👊🏼
@ Good deal! Thanks.
You need batteries
@@DelwinCowan-mb8so I thought I did too, but since I have fixed the cables, Gertrude is a whole different truck. It starts like a champ now, it even started when it was 28 degrees outside 👍🏻👊🏼🙌🏼 I didn’t realize how bad those battery clamps were till I looked close at them, they were adding a lot of resistance.
I really don't think you need a new starter, 3 seconds to crank and start up on a 25+ year old truck is pretty good going so it's looking just like dodgy cables and maybe that 4th battery being bad due to it not chargting properly
@@DannyDan2k13 yeah I began video thinking I needed a starter. But yes I made enough improvements that it started pretty good at the end. I think the look on my face was genuine surprise that it started that good 😂😂😂 now the plan maybe, upgrade to gear reduction starter when this one goes bad 👍🏻🔧🔧🔧 thanks for watching 👍🏻🎥🎥
