The legendary Death Metal icons OBITUARY return with their highly anticipated new album, Dying of Everything.
Dying Of Everything destroys in the time-honored tradition of early OBITUARY classics Slowly We Rot and Cause of Death while maintaining the killer studio sound that the band has been perfecting in their own studio since 2007’s monstrous Xecutioner’s Return.
You can hear the results on lead single “The Wrong Time” which boasts a slamming mid-tempo groove. Meanwhile, the title track boasts punishing riffs and songwriting by Ken Andrews. The album’s third single, “My Will To Live,” is a total skull-crusher. Track after track, OBITUARY solidify their legacy as a Death Metal institution, churning out some of the heaviest riffs in their career.
Like just about every album in OBITUARY’s vast catalog, Dying Of Everything is instantly memorable; it’s a skill that OBITUARY have only improved upon over the years. It’s unusual for a band that’s been around since the ’80s to be doing some of their best work in the 2020s, but that’s exactly what OBITUARY have accomplished through their do-it-yourself attitude and relentless touring on a worldwide level. “I think it comes down to passion,” vocalist John Tardy offers. “I say this all the time, but if something’s not fun, I’m not gonna do it. And we’re having more fun than ever.”

Such an amazing band, still kicking ass after all these years.
I saw them back in 1990 in Paris, at the age of 17 y.o, my very first concert where I was allowed to go without the parents. Excellent band.
They sound fantastic, old school death metal showing that you are never too old that play death metal, being that they are in their 50s ,like me !
Almost 52 and singing for 2 thrash bands .... still not gigging yet which is driving me nuts. Haven't played onstage since before the plague. Super bummed I missed these guys Monday in Seattle.

I used to jam this band when I was in high school in the 90's. The fact that I'm just a few years away from 50 and they just dropped this blows my mind.

I've been listening since 1984 when they were still xecutioner.
I remember reading an article on them a little while after Cause of Death was released where the author called them "the heaviest band on the planet". 35 years later and that statement still holds true 🤘

obituary hasnt changed their sound much over the years and I love it. They know what they are and what they are good at. they stick to their guns.

They sound just as good live as they do on the record. I’ve seen these guys multiple times live over the decades they’ve been doing this and they’ve always brought their A game at every show… if you’ve never seen them, put this at the top of your bucket list because they’re gonna blow you away. Every ticket is a backstage pass at most gigs…down to earth guys and they socialize with their fans and sign everything! And if you’re one of the lucky few you get to break bread with these guys and have some laughs while feasting and guzzling some good beers. Thanks for some great times Obituary 🤘🤙

I've always liked Obituary's sound. This is one of the best opening tracks on a death metal album.

I’m just now getting into them at 27. These last few years iv given old school death metal bands a lot of attention and have found that iv missed out on so much groovy evil riffs and history. Anyone who hasn’t had to the chance should catch a show for any of the classic bands now before it’s too late.
