I started with "Slowly We Rot" in 1989, and have never looked back. In 1990, I think me and my roommate listened to "Cause of Death" in a continuous loop for weeks.
Sprinkled in was the Death "Leprosy" album, DRI, Vio-Lence, Kreator, Slayer, and more. And the Grunge scene was just getting popular around the world.
What a GLORIOUS time it was for music!!
Our descendants will realize this in a hundred years.

I saw these guys for the first time over 30 years ago, then again last year. It's been a hell of a run.
I first seen “Obituary” in London,Ontario,Canada in 1997 on their “Back From The Dead” tour which i’m a huge fan of that album + the “World Demise” album. I got to meet all the “Obituary” members who were so so cool & down to earth. I had a cool conversation with Trevor Peres about hockey 🏒 lol.
Outstanding musicianship throughout the band, including John's own inimitable vocal style that lets you know you're listening to Obituary.

Yes, the new album is an absolute banger. Feeling again like my teenage self exploring Death Metal in the 90`s. And their songs are so easy to play on guitar, but are always catchy as hell. They are geniuses in writing this simple but groovy and brutal stuff.
They are like fine wine. Better with age.
