The music is taken from a live art performance recorded by Pathe in Paris in 1964. You can watch the exciting piece here:

And yes, you guessed it. Miss Honeywell isn't actually a robot - she is a Hollywood actress in need of a few good parts!

@@monkeykidd420 So it is. It wasn't when I posted the link, but a lot can happen in a year.
@@Watcher3223 all good was just letting people know outa curiosity what was it about if you remember
"He, she or it" Politically correct way back then.
We love to see it
Themy Lovato
"I'm just going to inexplicably put her into this cupboard with the hollo... solid back where none can come in and I shall show you what she can do.."
"And yes, you guessed it. Miss Honeywell isn't actually a robot - she is a Hollywood actress in need of a few good parts!" What do they mean by that if there is really a robot in the newsreel.
I'm liking the fact the man with the switches has the option to 'bend'.
dat expressive music in the background though......
"Assistant Nothing!"
"He, she or it replies, "Assistant nothing! I would make somebody a good wife." -Woman of the future
Lol, the funniest thing I've seen all day.
did the crowed actually believe this?
+LiveLoud1998 I doubt it. It would have been a fun sales pitch and a 'look what the future holds' type of demo.
By the looks of it it was pretty much a sales gimmick to present actual Honeywell computing machines.
It is a convention after all where you had to do something novel to draw a crowd.
I can remember this clearly! Those were the days:-)
I love how you can see the skin beneath the shirt @ 1:18
I wish I could replace components in my desktop with a velcro secured hatch like this.
See that Japanese man at 1:42. He probably believed it, went back to japan, told them how advanced Britain is, thus causing Japan to go rage on robotics to catch up.. Explains why Japan is the most advanced in robotics today. + Half life 3 confirmed. -.-
1:45 - this bloke is wondering "how DO they do that? It's a technological marvel!"
That acting tho 😭
I think I'm gonna have nightmares about this.
unimaginative
That's a woman dressed as robot. My work here is done! [fly away]
The music is terrifying.
Before commenting how "smart" you are to notice it's fake - please read description.
The first woman with an off switch.
Even their fake robots weren't as good as our robots today. Our robots can do backflips and run around with heavy items in their cold lifeless claws.
magic trick :) rather impressed if people back then believed it. when the robot was covered it had to have been swapped with an actually person, i have no doubt that it was. really cool though.
I wonder if the guys from that "My Sex Robot" documentary have seen this? Funniest thing I'd seen in a long time.
why do they have to remove the head ?
It's obviously fake. Doing "the robot" must have been a popular dance move in 1968. I find it funny that the cable and connections used to connect the "robot" to the controls looks like a telephone cable used for old office telephone systems. How convenient.
We've still not quiet created a decent independent robot.
CLEARLY the inspiration for Inspector Gadget 2.
@0:40 - For all of you playing at home, this is where the whammy is applied.
forever alone
Boy...She needs to practice her robot dance...
Shout out if you came here after watching Elon's announcement about his futuristic humanoid robot, which looks almost exactly like this!
Inspector gadget music woohoo!
is it fully functional?
Ace music...!
He's basically a magician.
It was the sixties. I bet people were taken in by this.
Just magic show
Oh, wow. Am I the only one who thought about "Cathy's House" by Vermilion Pleasure Night when I saw this? Not so hard to see where the inspiration came from.
FLASHY LIGHTS MEANS ITS TRUE!
So the Stepford wives ARE real!
1:07 yeah ALL robots walk like that :P
OMIGOD!
The audience is not laughing!!!!
1:46 dudes face 😂
it looks like hd wow
gotdammit it's an actress!
It was just a disguise to get women in the workforce! Good show!
no this just part of a doctor who episode
This robot is better than we have today... not.
This is Imposibru!!!!
@RealityCheckNews There's a link to the original in the info, have you seen it?
@JonnyThePocketRocket open your eyes
Really? I noticed it was fake by looking at it on someone's iphone from 20 yards away.
Wish my girlfriend had a "bend" button
Assuming Direct Control
was this released as the intent to fool others
seems legit.. XD
The editing totally ruins the magic trick that is supposed to frame the performance.
Penn & Teller would not approve.
Batest bait and switch
Were they dumb back then? Why would a robot make random unnecessary movements? I cringed at the thought of someone actually thinking this is real.
@miiketolentino hahaha it was the same i was asking...
Guys... No shit it's fake..... Just enjoy the vid
...and an entire subculture was born
Wow, people in 1968 sure were gullible :o
I am sure this fooled alot of ppl at this demo.!
My head is full of fuck!
Way better than actual robots from china
Later Boston Dynamics.
Lots of issues with the Enrober process
there is one in Russia too
This is so funny haha
Humantronics Rule!
haha bout half way through is sounds like inspector gadget
No questions asked when you demand a sandwich
Trolling '68
i wish i had a wife that was mechanically minded
@gregthebunny553 Sorry, how is this gay? And how is it fake - It looks genuinely in-genuine to me.
I'll take twenty!
Simon!!
@JonnyThePocketRocket look up to the skies and seeeeeeeee
I wonder if people in that day actually believed that that was a real robot.
That guy is nothing but a stage magician... and not a very good one at that.
Theatre people...
`is this the real life?
@JonnyThePocketRocket no escape from reality
If you look closely, you'll see that this is fake.
Who did the music for this?
did anyone else see 'Butthead' at 01:46 ?
She has 327 Kb of ram
haha april fools joke
Technology was better back then
I am Dave ! Yognaut and i am on twitter
イリュージョンマジックです
Ofcourse people this is fake this is a clip in a movie before
It’s like the ch ss-playing Turk automaton from the late 1700s, that amazed people, but turned out to be controlled by a guy hidden in a box.
