I remember back in 2000 when my enormous robot arm would bring me my glass of morning champagne. Yes, I do miss the good old days...
Damn for real my RoboArm started malfunctioning at midnight infected with Y2k and started spilling my brew all over the carpet.
I'd drink just after breakfast if that thing was in my house too. Bloody terrifying!
That's not champagne, it's Pomagne cider!
Lol at the pomaigne; me and my mates used to get drunk on that in the 70’s....
Anderson Helms my robotic arm used to give the best hand jobs
Don't we all remember the year 2000, when mankind used these impeccable machines. Life was just so easy. Now look at us! I'm having to open my own champagne bottle (shortly after breakfast) with my bare hands and then continue to do the painstaking, strenuous and, not to mention, tedious task of pouring said bottle myself. What has the world come to?! #bringback2000.
With nothing to do she develops a three bottle a day habit. "Oh uni-mate you understand me. Not like my husband. Kiss me uni-mate. Hold me."
Everyone is fitted with a radio and a telephone now. It's not just men but they almost got it right lol
Even down to the candies for the cuties (cough date drugs cough)
finally got my glass of wine after spilling it everwhere.
She spent the rest of the day cleaning up spilled champaign and toast that had been thrown everywhere.
4:20 "Skirts will disappear entirely" yup, they disappeared alright.
No?
Ahh yes incredible short pants to allow greater flexibility
Mostly. I still occasionally see women wearing skirts in public, I counted at least 6 in one Walmart trip once.
I love these spot on predictions of the future!
to be fair, the disappearance of skirt was on point (to a lesser degree). those pants are in style right now especially.
"Oh, swish." lol^^^,
“Or in a high-pitched voice like the television Daleks.” Alright, Britain, I’ll bite. But that is clearly a woman wearing a stupid outfit
No it’s a cyberwoman that’s definitely a human trapped in a robotic suit devoid of all emotion with only the will to serve and pleasure it’s master 😂
r/woosh
The music from that segment was great
@@Creed-lp4wj he was joking as well
"He will be fitted with a telephone". That was a fantastic prediction, an also true, from 1939!
But the coins has nearly dissapeard completely.
6:08 when the kids grab the newspaper it's a ladies hand.
LOL
Same when they pay lol.
Yep i noted 10 that
7:42 Who would have thought we would all be living in the year 2020 without our giant robot arm handing things to us from the kitchen to the dining room, whilst taking up an entire room's worth of space.
7:24: "Cracking toast, Gromit..." Oh, wait.;D
Not only will your wife love the convenience of being served wine, but she will also appreciate the many attachments that come with the robot arm.
"It has a kind of mind that can programmed like a computer" , haha, hilarious.
LMAO
Mr 2000 goes to work, Mrs 2000 becomes an alcoholic 😂😂😂
We need more videos looking into future. There's so much inspiration!
Lol They were so optimistic for future
Whatever that song was that played during the robot scene must have been a bit ahead of it's time. I dig it and it's 2020.
Kept waiting for the Unimate to malfunction and destroy everything in its path.
Very comedic British Pathé you know my favourite!
Watch at .25x at 9:30
When I was 80's kid. I also imagine in the year 2000, robot will roaming around the street.
And flying cars on the sky
ms Honeywell I'm coming
I've met someone who looks a lot like you
She does the things you do, but she is an IBM
Cooming
ZXRulezzz - ‘And she’s also a telephone’
1:59 the robot seems legit..putting it on a magician box lol
In the year two thousand... In the year two thousaaaaaaand! Robots will have made the human obsolete for most manufacturing jobs, the only remaining careers will require college degrees. (it's more likely than you think.)
That Unimate is the ancestor of today's car-making robots. Also, the idea of machines not needing any human help to build, maintain and repair themselves is scary.
The transparent dress prediction was pretty accurate.
The Coventry clip is outstanding.
Unimate wasn't very popular as an early Fleshlite™ prototype I take it? I take it that's what Unimate means? (One mate)
Bring on Miss Honeywell, she'll turn up the temperature for a good roasting.
Green Silver the one armed bandit!
With turbo feature
5:41...a Dalek! :)

One thing hasn't changed: Designers designing clothes that are just on another level
Little did they know that the women of 2000 A.D. would be wearing sweatpants with "JUICY" on the butt.
"WhAt'S mY PuRpOsE?" You pass the butter. lol
That robot serving champagne looks nice. When it will be available ?
What were Honeywell smoking back then? Can I have some??
The fashion prediction for the year 2000 were pretty bad lol except that pants were more famous true
The light part to find a right man is stupid
Eureka is a good thing for an All Fools Day :))
5:03 ooo, swish! 🤣
1:41 I'm pretty sure the robot was fake, they changed it with real person with costume otherwise there no need to cover the whole thing.... it's like magic trick!
2:08 me according to captcha quiz:
Well they got the phone and radio part right.... along with the beards.
7:47 looks like ww2 gun turret
anyone know if any of the music in these is available anywhere else? or if not do you have any recommendations of similar stuff?
Check out the album Plantasia by Mort Garston.
@@UFBMusic one of my favourites!
"Coins, keys, and candies for cuties"
this is so cool.
That "robot" is definitely someone in a costume
what kind of publication was the Pink Elephant ?
From the context, I'd say it was a rag-mag. Rag week (yes, we really call it that) is a week each year when British students engage in fundraising activities. One tradition of rag week (stop giggling) is writing and publishing a rag-mag, which is a compendium of funny articles, poems, short stories, jokes etc put together by some of the students and sold with the proceeds going to the cause.
Our Coventry rag mag was called WOW.
We read it ! also there’s the pink elephant experiment where one stares at a cross on a green elephant for 30 seconds then when one looks away at a white surface , a pink elephant is visible . An experiment to show how light wavelengths on eye cone cells work . But that said Viz was a far more entertaining rag.
Ohh! Swish!
Swish swish (Katy perry)
anyone know the music for the "Ms. Honeywell" segment?
or the UNIMATE robort arm segment?
@@geekaydee6303 Just spam a piano
They used to have studio orchestras compose random, assorted music for each segment back then.
holders for phone coins and keys. Got that right as a phone can be used to pay and unlock things.
Boston Dynamics: WHAT? 01:20
Getting some Star Trek vibes here.
So they didn't imagine wireless robot that time or a power source built in it
Ooh, swish!
Was Miss Honeywell dishwasher safe?
Hmmm.. Miss Honeywell?
The point of no return..
So many illnesses could had been avoided..
Eran los tiempos de Simón Templar el agente 007 , el hombre Bonico, la mujer maravilla y el Hombre araña.
@9:53 , how did the tea already have milk in it?
I want to know how it buttered the toast with one arm, without the toast moving around the plate.
there were right about the phone
@2:15 Dub some Devo music in there and voila!
Cor blimey!
Plot Twist everyone thought it was a real girl...lol
Love the Dalek at 5:36!
😅😅😅 the robot
You didn't see the robot arm spreading the butter 😂
You need to hands toi spread butter -- thats why they didnt show it!
That robot seemed to be legit to me
Even James Bond gadgets in 1963 were better!
Hahahahaaaaha...ha...haaaah .
That was interesting and funny ah i like our weird history .
weird future?
People were stupid back then.
People are stupid now.
what a great idea electric belts that adapt the body to climate changes would be. Where are they today?
When did money disappear for these "dreamers"?
You watch all these crackpots then go look at boston dynamic videos today 😮
they gave her elbows, but not knees 🤔
The only thing they were right apart was wearing transparent net. Lol
its spilling Pomagne all over the place.
I call bullshit on Miss Honeywell.
Doger the Darlek AMAZING
makes me realise how painfully slow old machines were
Then the man and his wife will go off to 2 of the 5 jobs they must work to pay for Unimate.
diese rtl2 redakteure, was sich die so immer einfallen lassen. total kreativ, man sollte denen einen bambi verleihen.
9:27 lool
I love Miss Honeywell
unimate isn't that smart it forgot to stir the tea
And now we have tesla bot lol
So they were making fools of everyone even back then!! Not much changed today though.
Who invented the ufo
United States Airforce Declassification Office coined the term in 1952. On June 24, 1947 private pilot Kenneth Arnold when flying pass Mt. Rainier, Washington sighted flying objects in the shape of saucers or dinner plates.
@tatumergo3931 I bet there weren't ufos in 1882 when the first lights were powered, and if there were, I bet they imagined them with the technology of their time like flying chicken barns
@tatumergo3931 which came 1st the Sci fi movie or the 1st ufo sighting
@@Mr.1.i. Actually...... Humm! The instances of recorded encounters and sittings with strange flying objects and phenomena dates all the way back to the middle ages and even further back in time. Julius Obsequens a Roman writer who lived in the middle of the fourth century recorded accounts of strange objects, flying through the air about 400 years before his time. In January 25 of 1878 John Martin a local farmer mentioned a strange balloon flying at "wonderful speeds" which from his perspective resembled a saucer.
An just like that, history is covered with many anecdotes and stories about the phenomena.
@@Mr.1.i . Well it's hard to say, even the Romans and the Greeks talk about things in the future and wonderful strange civilizations across the ocean sea. They even mentioned about long lost civilizations who had more advanced technologies than theirs. In the same breath they also make mention and recorded cases and events of strange things happening in the heavens. Even the Bible is full of many recorded such cases, even as far as to mention encounters with these beings, "Book of Genesis".
But who cares about all these stuff, I rather go down to Carnival in Rio and Samba.... É hora de carnaval, filho ....... hahahaha!
The robot is creepy
Uh, swish!
Cringey that robot
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
That's a fake, robots don't walk like robots!
I know of a Chinese girl tik toker that does a better impression...😅
Idhi kachhithamga YSRCP kutra

when was that? there still a disadvantage for having a robot in the house. you would become a lazy home owner
It's 2 Giant fried eggs stuck together and sprayed silver
OOh Swishh! 😂 how camp!
