I feel like western riders have an advantage because everything that they need is just right there on their saddles, but bridles are a different story😂

EquestrianHayleigh2148 We also tend to tack up much faster anyway. We don't have to tighten our girth from both sides, and we don't have to do up four buckles to do so. Winding a latigo through a cinch buckle takes no time at all. And barrel racers tend to be particularly quick for some reason, especially if they're prone to being late (I know a few like that. They got fast out of necessity!).

I didn't take it as rude. Our sport requires a burst of extreme speed. To warm up for that takes quite a bit of time, and many of us also do rollbacks and various little things to get the horse tuned in to us and ready for the job ahead, I can't speak for the Jumpers, as I've never been around that crowd.

Sierra Jade English you have to go fast in eventing. xc of course! and we have faster gaits. Walk=Walk (same) Trot=Jog (Jog is a slower) Canter=Lope (Lope is slower) I have ridden both but I enjoy English more though

I ride English but I have worn loads of different western saddles because my cousins own a horse ranch (they ride western) I agree the saddle is more comfortable and easier to use, but I also like English saddles because it’s more comfortable for the horse

I gotta say it takes me a minute and a half to tack up, English and Western. I take 4 horses to show at each show. 2 Western and 2 English. Most classes are right after each other. Which calls for fast un tack and tack up

Western already has the stuff on the saddle if they decide to keep the cinch on. English all the stuff is disconnected and bridles are harder but tthe cinching process is easier

I thought western was gonna win but mostly because I've never ridden English and it's always really fast for me to tack my horses up, everything is always already there on the saddle and unlike Claire's friend, I don't have all that stuff on my bridle, so tacking up is just putting on the pad, then the saddle, tightening, and then just putting on the bridle like normal and throwing the reins over the horses head and then I just hop on like it's nothing xD, but at the same time a little difficult for me in particular cuz I'm super short with huge horses and western tack is really heavy
