Hello mate I have a 2005 !.9 Cdti 150bhp Navi Preface Vectra I am looking at upgrading the turbo the injectors which i have to 299 I have the upgraded air box but have just watched you Tig weld the tube manifold for the Astra which are the same shape manifold as mine. I noticed that your website is down but are you still doing the manifolds and do you still have the fixtures. Cheers Tony
Down to various factors. Heat input, shielding gas, post flow etc. The colours is oxidation of the weld, a perfect colour would be a light gold, almost silver. But people like the colours.
it depends on type of stainless steel because there are types that can withstand heat and some that can't and get brittle whe you overheat them. Also depends on welding any many more things...

This Manifold (Z20) is not the same as the Z19DTH. Completely different.

When you weld around the inside of the port are u not worried about oxidation or do u just run lower amps and make sure you dont penetrate?
Correct. Sometimes Pen does happen. But thats life.
