This trick isn't that difficult to pull off. What Michael did was have an assistant watch the painting closely, then they fill the room with semi-toxic sleeping gas. While the man is in a catatonic state, Michael sits down and replicates the painting, then closes it in the box. Then, after about a week, the man wakes up and feels like nothing happened.

I was super impressed by how fast he caught on when he said "that's why you gave me the colors" and both were impressed with each other. That was a nice moment. He definitely caught on way faster than I would if I was in that position.
