- Preußens gloria was written in 1871 after the Kingdom of Prussia's victory in the Franco-Prussian War, which led to the unification of the German states into the new Prussian-led German Empire.As part of the victory parade of the returning troops, the march was performed for the first time in public in Frankfurt an der Oder, where Piefke's garrison was based.
As Piefke only performed it on important occasions, the march was unknown to a broader public for a long time. In 1909 the manuscript of the almost forgotten tune turned up and was reworked by army-musical inspector Prof. Grawert. Shortly afterwards it was included in the collection of Prussian army marches.

Prussia gloria se escribió en 1871 después de la victoria del Reino de Prusia en la guerra franco-prusiana, que condujo a la unificación de los estados alemanes en el nuevo Imperio alemán dirigido por Prusia. The German States should be seperate but united, that is real diversity considering there isn't really a single German culture and this should also apply to the America, Italy, Russia, UK, China, Japan, Spain, India etc. They all speak German but Argentina, Mexico don't want to unite with Spain they have seperate identityy and culture. Germans had the HRE but can you find a Prussian eating weißwurst, yodelling or wearing lederhosen, that's not their culture but that's ok.
