Not exactly. First things first: There are no military parades held in Germany, nothing like in France, the UK or Russia at least. There is however a ceremony called "Großer Zapfenstreich" (Grand Tattoo), usually held at the end of military exercises or to honour certain officials, like the Chancellor or President when they resign or retire. According to Prussian tradition, this is performed in the evening, with torches lighting the area of the ceremony.

A strong military is now important in Germany, and the rest of NATO.
I love Prussia’s Glory it sounds amazing and this is most probably most best sounding one I’ve heard so far!
Lindo !
honestly one of the best versions of this song i've heard.
My last name is Preuß and I feel a lot of pride for Germany and the once great nation Preußen
Chile does not shy away from Prussian marching traditions.
absolute perfection could not get any better
Let's make Germany great again!
Poland: *Sweating heavily*
German military marches always have that vibe that makes it feel out of place for some reason
Especially with torches and standards.
Beethoven is a gigachad for a reason
For those who are German/working with the Bundeswehr, I wonder the use of torches in marches
It's night time...
@@sci-fihorizons2867 Its too damn obvious but unlike other marches Normally unarmed or using a nations rifle
Not normally a stick or a wooden stick while marching
@@xiaozihuangyt3439 probably to show respect to those who died for Germany.
@@xiaozihuangyt3439---- the marches and parades are often done when its dark.
So the flames are causing a magical atmosphere
It’s beautiful to see that some Prussian traditions are still practiced
Specially we love those prussian traditions in Poland😅😅😅
0:56 why the roman battle standard and what flag is depicted?
It's the German eagle flag probably mentioned to look like the flag of the Holy Roman Empire
@@EmpireofStantnowa. Dude its the prussian flag
The Prussian one is black and white @@SkeddieRBX

As an American and even though I only have a small amount of Prussian ancestry from Mecklenburg-Vorpommern and West Silesia, I still feel patriotic when I hear this tune.
Yes, maybe! Just a bit confused at the moment. I wish you and your country all the best and be strong in the near future...
Many men died marching to this song, remember them, GOD BLESS .
I do love German marching songs
German-mexican, i feel this marcha deep 8n the heart, the grandfather of a friend, (Also german-mexican) when drinks warm beer and homemade sausages, scream (Two great men in the history: pancho Villa and... You know uncle Adolph) some Say Villa was of Germán Heritage, so... Anyway in the museum of My city are some mexican uniforms with pickelhaube, of our generals
Long live sacred Germany!
Come across this video. Is holding torch a tradition of German military parade?
Not exactly.
First things first: There are no military parades held in Germany, nothing like in France, the UK or Russia at least.
There is however a ceremony called "Großer Zapfenstreich" (Grand Tattoo), usually held at the end of military exercises or to honour certain officials, like the Chancellor or President when they resign or retire. According to Prussian tradition, this is performed in the evening, with torches lighting the area of the ceremony.

Time to rise up Germany 🇩🇪 and stop relying on other nations to defend you.
Wake you sleeping Giant and show Russian your strength...
Sleeping giant? Its full of immigrants, and many older Germans have Russian blood in the aftermath of Stalins rapist troops at the end of WW2. So if its sleeping, its well diluted and will never wake up. Just like Britain only Stalin never overran us with his troops. Only with his philosophy which turned us into pathetic specimens unable to stand up, always looking for "someone else" to hopefully solve their many problems. Plenty of "someone elses" in UK these days but they cause problems not solve them.
😂 You made me laugh! "Show your strength "
Hello from Russia 🇷🇺
Just don’t invade in winter this time
0:41 I'm European and have German friends (and love the fact they're socialst) but not gonna lie, that torch parade had me break out into a cold sweat....
