Fun fact: Rayashki is based off an actual mining town called Pyramiden
That's so cool! The story of that city is quite interesting as well
"Portrait of a lost utopia"
thanks you alot!
And that town abandoned ?
Wowww that interesting!
thank you so much for sharing this. i just had an emotional rollercoaster looking up Pyramiden and learning what eventually happens to it. bluepoch really knows how to do historical references so well...
If you did Vila's anecdote after the "Farewell Rayashki" story then it really is farewell rayashki.
Now you scared me....
Yeah, it's so sad 😢
The Event Story for 1.8 was good, I loved it very much. But adding Vila's Character Story on top of that afterwards, I think it just shot up from just good to possibly my most favorite side Event in the whole game now, even surpassing 1.3 for me. It made me realize just how brilliant this entire event truly is.
Makes me wish that Vila's story came in at the second half. Not sure what Windsong's story will be like yet, but it would've been the perfect way to wrap up all of 1.8.
I skip the whole story because i thought it was only explaining vila's backstory. I come back to it after reading this comment and now i feel sad 🥲
@@lyra7345 I also thought it's gonna be Vila's backstory at first.
Instead, it gave the main event story so much more depth and by the end of it I was practically _sobbing_
Having read many Russian novelists, I can definitely say they nailed the whole vibe. This patch was amazing. Social issues, helpless people, mundane everyday life and innocent children still oblivious to the cruelty of adult world. Amazing. This track is my goto for every story with such vibes now. Bluepoch always delivers. And the fact that they are potentially gonna buff old characters, only makes me want to stay. I am not quitting this game, ever.
This EP is a love song to 1970's Soviet movies. Something you wouldn't be surprised to hear in the closing credits of one of Daneliya's tragicomedies
The fact that "Dawn arrives as usual" starts with "Swan Lake" on every channel is so scary...
This scene foreshadows the demise of Rayashki. In 1991, when the KGB and some military personnel launched a failed coup to save the Soviet Union, the only thing on Soviet television was Swan Lake.
Hello Rayashki! May your dream of becoming a haven for all of us comes true!
Goodbye Rayashki… may your legacy inspire a future where everyone can find their happiness together.
THIS LITERALLY MADE ME CRY 😭 😭 😭
After event story : 🎉🎉🎉
After vila story :☠️☠️☠️
Writing was a whole 9/10 omg
Honestly, this event surprised me and gave me a new favorite character in Windsong. The writing is so well done that everyone was great but there was something about Windsong finally standing up for herself and Rayashki ("Never do what your enemies want you to do.") that made me love her and I can't wait to have her on my team.
There are pieces of music out there that, when you listen to them, will instantly remind you of... _"Home"._ This is one such music.
Rayashki exists in the hearts of each and every one of us. It is the Dreams of progress and the hope for a brighter tomorrow, the roar of machinery and the thundering sound of hammers within fueling us forward. No matter our nationality, whether or not you are aware of it, we all share this Dream.
Listen to it, and take it all in. It is the sound of our beloved Home.
The sound of our beloved Rayashki.
There are many places in 1.8 paying tribute to a German movie "Goodbye Lenin" (including the name). The bear statue that hanging carefully in this EP is obviously a tribute to the "hanged" Lenin statue in the movie. Although you can tell that 1999 and the Lenin film have completely opposite attitudes towards the red regimes and their ideology, their conclusions are the same: after waking up from the dream, people must once again face the bitter reality and go forward.
also going off rhe fact that rayashkinis likely inspired by Pyramiden. the towns square of pyramiden looks really similar except that in center the statue is a bust of lenin
The melody gives me goosebumps, but I like it for some reason
I hope the story continue with both of them, comrade Vila and comrade Windsong
Oh it will if you haven't go read vila story truly one of the best story ending ever😊
WE STARTING A REVOLUTION WITH THIS ONE 🔥🔥🔥
glory to the worker of the world!

COMRADES WE MARCH 🔥🔥
@@afflatusvods Low-budget guy, I call you whatever I like.
R1999 really ate with the soundtrack. After opening the event, I immediately got invested, and I even appreciate it more with the way the story delivered it. The melody is ethereal yet simple, sounds lonely but hopeful, like being a labor worker looking forward to the future. Shout out to the sound producer 4 real. Thank you for upload this, it will be my Roman empire for a while😔✋
The EP is superb! Needed to came here to thanks Bluepoch for bring back the pipes game mode in the story. I really miss this mode. Now that i just discovery it, i'm feeling greatfull!
Waiting for the comeback of the pawn puzzles, like in the Rimet Cup event! Salute, Comrade Evgene!
Прекрасная история
IM HERE‼️‼️‼️ JUST LOST ALL MY CLEAR DROPS TO VILA😔
Real
Same.
Same 😭 girlie took everything and left nothing for windsong
Loved the story.
Farewell Rayashki, gone but never forgotten o7
peak music as always
This track is a gold tier...looking like straight coming out from tarentino movie
Not Tarantino, but a lot of classic Soviet movies. I’ve definitely seen a movie or two where the end credits has this whistle song with the main character walking, really reminds me of soviet war movies, too
@@borealwind I believe they were referencing "Ural Rowan Trees", a Soviet song well known in China.

I'll be entirely honest and say I stopped paying attention to the story after campaign chapter 4 or 5 but I really like the art and started paying attention to the story for this chapters and I like it so far.
You didn't do chapter 6? 😕

Btw I'm actually so jealous how they call each other comrades cuz when ppl call me they just say "Hey you!" and it just somehow annoys me 🤧
But Vera takes the initiative to discuss philosophy with you (no doubt, Marxism-Leninism), in reality, the next step she will take is to invite you to join the party lol.

@@Rik0s. trust me. (It gets more depressing from here)
@@Rik0s. It's an after story for the Rayashki so I really recommend you to read it.
the mute intro missed the first 3 seconds man
Anybody understand what is Zeno? I mean they military organization, but they have camps in many countries. How they work?
No surprises, all superpowers have military bases in their allied countries.
@@ZhAlexie But what superpower? In Green lake I thought it was USA military camp, but in Rayashki they look like soviet army. Maybe they something like GDI in this world and cold war never happened?
@@ПавелВостоков-о3ч Well, I haven't studied 1999's worldview in detail yet. But it gives me the feeling that Rayashki and Zeno represent different aspects of the Soviet Union: Rayashki represents the communist ideal, which inspires people and gives them hope; while Zeno represents the red empire, which is arrogant, utilitarian, harsh and powerful, and makes people afraid. This is exactly the contradictory impression that Chinese people have of the Soviet Union.
@@ZhAlexie I get it, but why Zeno have camp in Green Lake that supposed to be American countryside?
@@ПавелВостоков-о3чSorry, I haven't reach that part of game yet, which chapter is it?

Farewell, who?
And why?
Go play Vila's character story.
Can someone explain the story and vilas anecdote? I wanna feel sad
The whole patch was a build up of perseverance and resolve. So much character development and strife. Everyone came together and so many sacrifices were made. You're left feeling empowered and glowing for the bright future everyone worked for. Then you read through Vila's side story and realize, (If you didn't already) That the storm washed it all away and in the end it was all for nothing. It was written so well that I actually forgot how the storm worked long enough to swell with hope only to be violently deflated by the reality of the Reverse 1999 world. There's something about the depression this game instills in you that just keeps you coming back for more.
This story actually reflects the plight of people in former socialist countries in the post-Soviet era. In the early 1990s, Russians abandoned the communist economic system and the Soviet Union, but they soon found that the prosperous life promised by Yeltsin and the West did not come. Instead, they ushered in a 30-year long depression; when those state-owned factories and enterprises lost orders from the state, they could not pay wages, so people's lives began to become more and more difficult, and the cities became more and more depressed . Many people had to leave their hometowns and go to big cities or even abroad (similar situations also occurred in China, especially in those northern industrial cities). This story, with the warmth and nostalgia of the old times, shows us another possible life, and then destroys everything with the Storm, telling you that it is just a dream. Life goes on, and you have to move forward.
