Professional concert level retired violist here. WOW! I love this performance. I have performed these many times! They never get old and lovely t and fun to play.
The adagio is as lovely a piece as he ever penned. Odd that I never heard the duets before. It has been a wonderful experience discovering what he could do with so few instruments. They are worthy to stand alongside his finer quartets.
Tyrun Willoughby I'm a violin. Oh boy I'm not gonna be able to play the rondo in a couple of years. I only have around 1 1/2 years experience so yeah. I'm learning the first movement but I'm only having trouble with the doublestops
As a violinist myself, you need at least 4-5 years of intensive training to play this duet. Mastering this and playing it at this level is another story... I say around 7-8 year.

As a violist, I say thank you Herr Mozart! You the man.
The impecable quality of Grumiaux playing……..
3:30 is unbelievably beautiful, I repeated that part so many times already. That is the definition of "question and answer", absolute harmony.
Grumiaux's Mozart works set a model for all violinists.

My best friend plays viola and I play violin, I'm currently composing a duet and wish to play duets with him, it's cool you've performed duets
11:54 Did anyone had goosebumps at this point? it reminds me of his other symphonies! so cool!!
The adagio is so beautiful.
Grazie molte di vero,❤ per il video musicale: un grande dono .

Perfect music for a Saturday morning coffee break :)

The best recording ever
1:54 love the voicing in this measure. Same with 2:56
This is delightful! I like this so much more than the overplayed Duo Concertante! Thank you for posting!
New to me, very enjoyable. The notes about the history are fascinating, I had read of the close friendship between Mozart and JMH.
Who is JMH?
Johann Michael Haydn.
Something about mozart's voicing in the measures in 0:23 and 1:26 just makes me smile and I'm not sure what it is lol
perfect!!
This is wonderful
Section A has nearly 142 measures! Pure genius
wow this is just sooo good.
