That was unbelievable. Andrea! You are really getting more and more incredible each song. Then when you lifted the trumpet to duet with Joan (in that slow very Sant Andreu Jazz style I love) I almost fell out of my chair. All of the band - spectacular! And Joan Chamorro- what a fantastic solo you did! Truly great. I love, love, love this number. And by the way, Andrea, that smile at the end - adorable!

Incredible! One can see and feel the energy and soul that Andrea Motis gives to the song. Her talent is floating in air while Joan Chamorro and his band of amazing musicians takes the song to greater height. Never got tired watching this!

i travelled from the USA to see these wonderful musicians. Wow did I pick a performance to see. Joan is a marvel in presenting the astounding talent of Andrea Motis and this show in the teatre grec in Barcelona was special beyond words. World class musicians, the best. I hope that the entire night becomes available on video. Toward the end of the night Joan paid honor to Cannon Ball Adderly riffing Mercy mercy mercy. The whole night was stunning. Thank you Joan and your wonderful musicians.

Oh my goodness, the singing has moved up a notch. I like the synth and organ solo.
I'm detecting a pattern: To hang with Chamorro you have to be good on at *least* two instruments, unless you are already a monster on drums or keyboards.

La parte del saxo de Joan es fenomenal... 03:40, no sé lo extraño que vaya a sonar esto, pero al verlo tocar esa parte, a mí me da la impresión de estar viendo un héroe, un personaje épico y dramático que entra en escena en ese momento... Raro, no? Pero es lo que me transmite; debe ser el el verlo tocando con y para Andrea. Desde el Perú, un abrazo grande para Joan, Andrea, Ignasi, Steve, Joseph y todos los demás. Se les quiere y admira mucho

Andrea proves her chops - jazz and pop - on this Gnarlsy piece! Again, as always, great jazz keyboard work by the one, the only, the great Ignasi Terraza (super Hammond B3 this time!). With a nod to her mentor (Joan Chamorro) she sings the line "Ever since I was little it looked like fun". Then she points to the audience and sings "Maybe you're crazy!" Yes, we are crazy - for Andrea. Thanks, Joan, for all your great work at St.Andreu!

P.S., I forgot to mention in my text, just seven minutes prior---along with those talented, yet, nonetheless, young and aspiring, the ever so slightly older, non-pariel pianist, Ignassio. Mr. Chamorro, his Sant Andreu Band and we jazz lovers are blessed to have him.

Still well controlled between the ecstasy of singing - supported by the chorus ladies - and the quiet instrumental interlude with Joan, and back to another burst-out!
Love to see the "Lady Day" flowers in her hair, sweet reminescence to the olde SAJB days...

I think "Rocío Seligrat y Verónica Martin " are the back-up singers, at least that what's listed above, assuming "coros" means "chorus" or something like that in Catalan.

... quite often a cover will miss the original, so it's good that the SAJB didn't cover - just do a new original. Speeding up & engaging a funky-crazy sound directly out of Lalo's famous movie scores lifts the song to a new level - in my ears the highest one.
If getting a copy in BuenAir, Lalo will throw away his wheelchair ( if he owns one ) and in Hollywood, CA Mr. Cruise has to start a new action movie: "Mission Crazy, ", simply for the soundtrack.
As I mentioned with an other SAJB track, Jeru gave (re-)birth to the cool, so this is rebirth of funk!

Does she have to be a rock star? how about A STAR. She has it all.
The whole idea of being a star, (or being famous, being a celebrity, etc.) could not be further away from what Andrea, and 90 percent of jazz musicians aim for.
Jazz is about making music together, preferably with musicians who are more skilled than you, and who play better than you.This means the audions/listeners are often more impressed by the other musicians' performance than yours. So, there are no stars and background musicians in Jazz. Just musicians.
In modern popular music of the 21st century, the industry makes sure the star of the band is always on the spotlight and gets the credit.
Every single member of the background band is usually a better musician than the "star" of the band, but they must make sure not to show too much of their skills.
With Andrea's talent, she could be a star in any other music genre, if she wanted to. Luckily she has not.
