    Oh, wie herrlich! So elegant und leicht. Electrifying hat jemand weiter unten geschrieben. Ja! Habt ganz lieben Dank, dass wir das hier erleben können. Und immer & immer ewigen Dank an den großen Meister Bach, der uns so überreich mit seiner großartigen Musik beschenkt hat.

    That is a spectacular performance! Buoyant, expressive, nuanced and so joyful. The ending is another Bach the genius moment when he goes to a four voice fugue after all the intricate eight voice writing. Thank you so much!!! I will listen to this often.

    I've heard a lot of music in my long life. BWV 225 destroys me every time I hear it. It's been my favorite musical composition ever for years, and I never tire of it. Lovely performance. This is extremely difficult music to do well.

      I completely agree with you, and I find very few people who actually understand this fact, that how marvelous BWV225 is. It is one the most complex compositions in the history of classical music along with BWV226.

    To me, personally, the first and third movements were too fast to fully hear the nuance of the text setting and the stunning harmonies, but the tempo was warranted for the fourth and final movement. Despite that, the balance between the voices is one of the best ive ever heard, and I’ve listened to many recordings of this, my favourite motet! Congratulations to this brilliant group!

    • @psalmtone2008
      @psalmtone2008 2 роки тому +1

      If I'm singing this myself, without any voices to help me stagger, I welcome this tempo in the first and third! :) And actually, Gardiner is faster in both his recordings, I believe.

    • @Nooticus
      @Nooticus Рік тому +1

      I certainly don’t believe that Gardiner does everything right… both in the music and in life…

    • @Nooticus
      @Nooticus Рік тому +1

      But I absolutely agree that with only one voice per part, there is basically no choice but to go at least this tempo! One voice per part is also something I personally don’t believe in though haha

    Unglaublich schöne Aufnahme. Es gibt nichts auszusetzen. Nur die Kameraführung hätte an etlichen Stellen genauer auf den Verlauf der Musik eingehen können. So ist bei der rechten Hälfte vom Zuhören und -schauen nicht genau auszumachen, wer Sopran und wer Alt singt, weil manchmal genau an den entscheidenden Stellen die Kamera nach links umschwenkt. Auch hätte die Continuogruppe ruhig mal gezeigt werden dürfen.
    Sonst Musik vom Allerfeinsten!

    Glorious! I like that it's not a concert setting, like seeing young people performing in a small ensemble. These singers are so good! This is a celestial piece of music. Only quibble is that the voices get a little muddled because of the acoustics in the venue.

I have just a question: at the end of the motet I can hear clearly the organ' b-flat major chord, but the hands of the organist are not on the keybord: who is playing?

    Guy with Red jumper...Is that a correct way to sing???

    • @libdem420
      @libdem420 25 днів тому

      The score never goes below F, the volume never beyond forte; on the other hand you're having to sing these merciless trains of sixteenths in allegro vivace. That really shifts the contour of your challenges. You can see it with the ladies too. Their prime concern appears to be how to punch in their phrases in tune and in synch at these speeds. No criticism - it sounds beautiful.

  • @kneza96BG
    @kneza96BG 22 дні тому

    Sorry, you have a double quire, 4 voices each and you decide that it would be very good that almost ( if not all ) of them have to go full on vibrato on ( almost ) every note they sing. The sound is extremely muddy even if there's only 8 people singing. Listen to Herreweghe version instead

  • @whosaysitmatters
    @whosaysitmatters 8 місяців тому

    The video and sound are stragely out of sync at times - the conductor looks very behind - maybe he was trying to slow them down?

  • @benz6043
    @benz6043 2 роки тому +2

    Clearly a communication problem with the 'conductor' who is disturbing the singers and the music. The ideas are fine, but this is not the way.
