Hey! In regards to the "Mute copyrighted music" option, I may bite the bullet and just turn this off in future if there are specific scenes that really benefit from it. I'd rather capture the true and intended experience to share with you all over monetization, I'll keep in touch with my mods on when it'll be best appropriate. (I've come across a music track in an acoustic room in a future episode which is one direct instance with copyrighted music being muted so it might be like that?) Anyway, I really do hope you enjoy this playthrough because I know a lot of you have been asking! I want to make sure I give this the attention and care this game demands :)
The Most Important Scene has music intended for the game, so it's not blocked by the Copyright Mute. There is one other scene where it also shouldn't, and would be *really really obvious* if it isn't, since it's added to your documents, and it's blatantly not background music - it's foreground music. So, probably don't need to worry.
Most music in the game is original, and not third party copyrighted. Like the intro had music, but was just weird ambient stuff. The acoustic room is an exception. Edit: Most of the copyrighted music is from radios which stay muted for you.
You should try Treyarch zombies on some of the call of duty’s. I know it may be kind of an odd request you might think but treyarch zombies is incredibly fun and there’s a really cool and confusing story to it. Almost every map has an Easter egg hunt anttached and that’s like its main quest that’s extremely cryptic, usually requiring you to look at a guide. Overall lots of cool stuff, cool maps, story, weapons, art, etc
To my knowledge there's one definite case of important copyrighted music and two iffy ones. One is a...let's call it a cover version, which should be fine, another is a piece of music created by an existing band for the game. I'm not sure how that one works with copyright. The only one that's definitely going to be an issue is another song by that same band, which has no storyline relevance but is just an incredibly awesome moment.
The level design in Control has looping like Dark Souls, or Bloodborne. You're in for a treat. BTW, you have a lot of respect for games. I respect that.
just a tip, when in a room with a control point, cleanse it first then go exploring after since cleansing the control point will open up areas in the room. You missed some collectibles in Central Executive and Dead Letters (a really cool one too!)
I know you're long since done, but one thing was, the map, the inventory, the sheer amount of correspondence and documents you find... it's all meant to be a bit much to wade through, detailed and oddly useless at the same time. And the parallel between the "accepted phrases" document, and the way the Board speaks, with slashes/alternate words. The level of detailed follow through is just fascinating. and the in-game live action videos (well, fmv, they're just so well done they feel live), just... feels both dated and modern. The amount of creative effort that went into all of it is just something else. It has a kind of... modernized 90s paranormal feel, hell like the red lights, and the level of consistency. Aggh. So good. Darling is just the best, but the sense of personality that comes through all of it as well. And Threshold Kids has to be one of the most brilliant bits of writing. The amount of trauma it communicates from someone who meant well. Just wild.
Keep reading everything, you’ll just become increasingly confused otherwise. 80 percent of the juicy lore tidbits in this game are hidden in those collectibles.
I think you can have a good time without reading the lore, but it just fleshed the world out in so many ways and gives you these big light bulb moments that would otherwise be missed. But I definitely agree, I'm pro-read everything for the stream.
Freaking loved this game. This is the first game where I read every single piece of information I found. I found everything so interesting. I'm not even that thorough when playing dark souls games and I'm a huge fan. This honestly came out of nowhere for me, I hadn't heard anything about it before I decided to purchase it and I'm usually big into the gaming industry. This was a pleasant surprise hit for me.
I love this game for several reasons, but the beautifully thematic aesthetics are such perfection. The level design, audio work, graphic work, special effects, character designs, all of them work so wonderfully well together.
@@Pir-o a PlayStation 4 exclusive, specifically. It's a bit annoying they walled it off like this, especially since it's totally inaccessible on Xbox.
I was so excited for you to get to this game, I knew you'd be really into it. It's one of the most unique games I've ever played and I love the lore and mystery and supernatural elements so much. It's basically Warehouse 13 with super powers
Man, I just wanted to say that i'm glad I found your channel. It was right at the beginning of your Dark Souls 3 playthrough while I was looking for a blind run to watch while I was going for the platinum trophy. I got it and the Bloodborne platinum in the same week 😁. Anyway, it's been a while since there's been a gaming UA-camr that I actually get excited to watch their videos. Everything about the channel is great. The games you play, how you play them and of course, yourself. Keep it up man! You're doing great! Almost 20k!
Been loving the soulsborne playthroughs. My highest hope is to see an Outer Wilds playthrough someday. It's all lore and exploration. Perfect fit, I think.
Love to see you tackle this game. Theres a lot of notes to collect, but I wouldnt describe this game as a collect-a-thon. Every note adds something to the world and I found myself wanting more and more. Hope to see you take on the Alan Wake remaster at some point as well!
Alan Wake takes place in the same world as Control, and it even has a DLC dedicted to Alan wake! It has a REALLY good story and I highly recommend it (especially with the new remaster!) Hope you play that game sometime!
Enjoyed this as a start to a let's play, and really like watching people get drawn into the game. One thing I really appreciate is that you actually watch and listen to the cutscenes. Other LPs I've seen of this game, the person talks all over the cutscenes and then complains they don't understand what's happening with the plot or what they're supposed to be doing.
"Havana" is referring to Havana Syndrome, and believe it or not they actually passed a law into place last month over it literally called the HAVANA Act.
I played game myself like 3 or 4 times. 100% completion. And it still draws me in like... an addict. I can't resist. For me it's in top 10 games I ever played (and I played a lot). And also IMO it's best metroidvania out there on par with Hollow Knight. Masterpiece. It's hard to find word to describe how I love it. Technically, story and gameplay wise the game is almost perfect. The only feeling that it left you with is "I want more of that!". Glad you playing it and hope you'll love it as much as I do. My heart rate is through the roof. It's gonna be such an adventure!!! AAAAAAAAAaaaa! SO COOOL! :-D
Excited for this playthrough!! I'm so dumb, I didn't even realize the direct comparison of Jesse literally entering the world of the FBC behind a painting and the thing she says at the start. You're already picking up on stuff that I missed lol.
This is one of the few horror games I've played, and I loved every minute of it. While I don't enjoy horror, I delight in dread, and this game does cerebral creeping dread better than any other, filling your head with questions and then rewarding exploration and reading with the drip, drip, drip of answers. Plus? It sticks the landing. Maybe the only game that's ever made me feel excited to find and read text-based lore entries since the personal files of your squad in Lair of the Shadow Broker. Pair that with absolutely stunning visual design and the incredible audio design... This thing is Art.
The Havana incident actually happened irl, it’s still not known what caused the disturbance at the Embassy. It’s been believed it was some kind of sonic weapon.
that radio transmission tape you listened to is inspired by a real radio show, coast to coast AM, a show which concept is quite out there with the paranormal.
For people that love reading about objects, items, creatures etc it's worth to mention that idea of world in "control" is based heavy on SCP foundation where people write a lot of stories and content.
I rarely comment on your channel Sire, but you really make me wonder if there is another version of me out there. Loving and loring into pretty much all the same games or very similar in style and your level of appreciation of games is beyond the usual playtrought. We can feel how immersed you are. For most games I have had feelings quite similar to yours while going trought them. Others you gave me insight I didn't have on a certain part or wtv as I don't read ALL the lore. Thank you for taking your time and letting us explore with you. Been following since your very first Dark Souls play, went trought that whole adventure and Bloodborne, I had to visit the past and sa most if not all the MGS plays (2 of my favorite series of all time). Death Stranding is an amazing game as well, I didn't play it unfortunately but did spoil myself all the way to the end. I will continue that experience with you . Death Stranding in a way is one of the best games ever made period. And now Control?!?! This will be another absolutely fun one. Kind of game that makes you think for longer than when you play it.... Hope you do the DLC as I had my PS explode on me a few months ago so I know I will not be able to see it. I have high confidence you will as you always do DLC if you like a game. I have no doubts on this one. Enjoy the game Sire, we shall appreciate your enjoyment.
Couldn't help but make the time to check this outt So glad you're digging it so much so far! This games got one of the coolest styles I've ever seen. Both in its attitude, and its literal art style. I really wanna pick up the art book for this one some time. The story and characters are a joy too. It's really sharp and humorous but it never crosses a line to where you can't take it seriously. It maintains a serious but really fun tone. The combat would be really repetitive if it weren't for the fact that it's so damn satisfying and the abilities and gun so fun to develop and use. Definitely one of my favorite games in recent years. An outstanding action shooter, with some really well done horror and scifi themes and world building in there I do find it curious that there is only the one difficulty setting. There are pretty extreme spikes here and there, like that first boss, but overall it's pretty well balanced Don't sweat muting the copywritten music, like others have said, it doesn't make much difference. The best music and moments of the game are original so you shouldn't be missing much As always map, amazing video 😊 see ya on the next one, whatever that ends up being lol ( you're gonna get like 70 comments in a row from me here in a couple months when I have time to catch up 🤣)
I'm so happy to see you play this game! Gonna be tuning in for all the amazing stuff you're going to find. You'll have a great time and I can't wait for you to delve into theories and wild speculation about what's going on!
I had a great time playing this, got the platinum and all extra trophies and enjoyed every minute. I will have to finally play Alan Wake now that it’s remastered.
Now THAT'S awesome Mapo, I wasn't expecting you to play Control next. This was the game that made me fall in love with gaming again last year, along with FF7 Remake
Another game to look out for in the future that's this nature of storytelling and production budget (and has the level of lore exploration and discovery and difficulty as Bloodborne) is Returnal. That game will absolutely blow your mind!
I played control for about 3 hours total. But now it's been more than a year since I played and I'm nervous to continue. I don't remember anything about the lore anymore. So this was helpful.
I found your channel through your Bloodborne playthrough (pumped for NG+ btw), and I'm excited to see you starting Control! I played it blind earlier this year and really enjoyed the experience, and I think you'll really like it, too.
This is also one of my Platinums alongside bloodborne, demons souls and returnal. I was just about to replay this game and read everything so this is great. This is exactly your kinda game. Trust me
Hey man. I just wanted to say your videos are fantastic. Excellent choices of games, (I’m a sucker for survival horror) digging into the lore, your humor and showing genuine “feels” in cartain parts. Really hope you are able to continue to make them cause they brighten my day :) Also, I can’t believe you haven’t played any halv-life, as you said in one of your death stranding uploads, looking forward to those. Lots of love from Norway!
This is such an amazing game, one of the most underrated, I thoroughly enjoy it, and have played it 3 times already, it is one of the few things in media that touches themes like these in such a way, and the way it connects with other games from the dev, like Alan Wake and Quantum Break is so cool, this game has Psi Factor and X-files vibes all over, so looking forward to see the rest of your playthrough and also looking forward to both Alan Wake 2, which is going to be much closer to Control, and Control 2(Which is a long way away, they are launching their online game first, following the sucky trend of turning everything online, I HATE online gaming lol)
I'm so glad you are enjoying this game from the get go :D It is a fantastic game and so much mystery. plus you reading through everything will help you understand the story even more, since the game is a bit of a mind Kubrick's cube lol ENJOY!
This'll be neat, never got really into this one myself. Just totally bounced off of everything about it which was weird because my tastes are very wide for games but idk something about Control just was not clicking with me. This playthrough might let me experience it fully after all this time
Nice to see this playthrough. I'm a fan & planned this last year. Hope you enjoy it & Alan Wake is definitely worth playing (probably before this). I'm here for it though. Cheers.
I'm just literally playing this right now. My list of installed games I'm playing simultaneously keeps growing (and I never finish any of them) so I'm trying to finish this one off.

You might not have noticed this, but Ahti responded to something Jesse was say in her head, and not out loud.

So so excited for this
I'm so glad you are enjoying this game from the get go :D It is a fantastic game and so much mystery. plus you reading through everything will help you understand the story even more, since the game is a bit of a mind Kubrick's cube lol ENJOY!
16:52 just pointing out the weird shit already started happening here - Ahti replied to Jesse's thoughts.
You need more Control in your life. One more playthrough 😂🙋🏽♂️
Love all the story driven games you are playing!! This is great! Consider Outer wilds too!
Another great playthrough in sight! You'll be at 100k subs in no time, mark my words.
Around 12:20 there’s a poster saying “Time shifts DO NOT count for overtime”
I never noticed the changing director portrait
This'll be neat, never got really into this one myself. Just totally bounced off of everything about it which was weird because my tastes are very wide for games but idk something about Control just was not clicking with me. This playthrough might let me experience it fully after all this time
Wow i just finished playing this on friday, very good game look forward to you experiencing it all (:
"They can fly now. Great"
Was that a Star Wars reference by the writers?
That Havana AWE was actually based on a real event
I see you too are unaware of the function of a rubber duck.
hehe responding to your inner thoughts some how he can hear it :D
A surprise, to be sure, but a welcome one
I never thought to shoot the speakers before.
