There's something so profoundly tragic and sad about watching a person rapidly waste away in front of your eyes as they come to the realization that they will in fact die and there's absolutely nothing you can do to stop it.
This part of the game actually creeped the hell out of me. I literally felt the determination of Gabe to save that soldier. This was one hell of a game.
Yeah this level has hands-down some of my favorite atmosphere in the whole game, maybe even the series
If someone were to ask me what my favorite soundtrack of Trauma Team is, it has to be this one. The intense concentration behind the sense of urgency as well as the mix between helplessness of not being able to do anything and the tragedy of watching your patient waste away as well as the need to push on regardless in the face of the unknown, puts this soundtrack at the top of my list for Trauma Team.

This mission just cemented Rosalia as my fave Super Virus™ of the Trauma Center series. Sure, Heart Spiders are dangerous and all, but the fact that you're forced to sit down and *diagnose* this monster, see its symptoms listed plain as day? Holy shit, it almost makes you worry it could be real...
And absolutely no cure once it breaks free

What is dangerous about Filoviridae isn't the disease itself, but the body trying to get rid of it. It has to perform something called a Cytokine Storm which is the equivalent of your own immune system performing a scorched earth military tactic.
@@Ryan91487 Huh. That's almost prophetic - a cytokine storm is one of Covid's primary mechanisms of damage.

If you want a *real* prophetic moment from this game's story, consider this; The Rosalia virus is a filovirus. It's from the same family as Ebola, that's why it looks so similar when the characters are shown a picture of it. But this game is from 2010. An Ebola virus epidemic happened around *3 years after its release.*

Yeah, that aspect doesn't exactly make the similarities between the game and the pandemic any more comforting.
On the other hand, outside of the medical profession, how many of would know that a cytokine storm even *is* a thing were it not for this game.
Relaxed and slow yet, suspense, sadness, unable to do much, battling... hell, the list goes on forever.
This is just powerful, and beautiful.
Sitting here listening to this while at home with COVID. Couldn't see my family for Christmas, but I will see them again soon...I'm almost out of quarantine, all I need to get back is my sense of taste. I can do this.
I swear, the soldiers in this mission be like:
"Okay, this doctor is our only chance at being able to diagnose this mysterious disease..... Let's not let him use the medical equipment :3"

and then be like let's give him a chance to diagnose this disease even tho his suppose to stop diagnosing :s
Evidently the Diagnosis was just for show. They just wanted to know if it could be quarantined till it "ran course."

Meaningless, friendly observation: muscle pains
Imagine if as soon as Gabe got the confirmation of the virus antibody and rushes back to RONI to complete the diagnosis, RONI tells Gabe that the soldier collapsed again and expired *JUST AS HE DIAGNOSED THE DISEASE.*
That would traumatize anyone playing that case.

All I can do is wait in solitude while keeping an eye out for any emerging symptoms. So far, all seems good.
