i like to think that the only reason Sir Alonne is fighting you is because he just got done cleaning the floor and he sits down for a rest.....and then you walk in with your dirty shoes
Naw, the Blue smelter Demon runback is infinitely worse than Sir Alonne. I nearly lost my sanity with the fat roll hexes, possessed arrowmen, and axe wielding hollows.
@@JoshDoVidsi just went through it for the first time and luckily I beat blue smelter on my first try but I can see how he can have a terrible runback. I think the duo cat boss in the frozen dlc has the worst runback in the game.
I have seen many criticize "bad game design" in this fight, but it us clear that in reality, Alonne's tactical expertise is simply unmatched. He clearly made the floors of his arena slippery in advance so he could slide across them to strike us at incomprehensible speeds.
....you know...I was wondering how he did that sliding slash. This explains it almost too well...and the blood of those undead he killed help keep that slick shine.
Propoganda Pat Lol I always imagine Alonne with a long mop rather than his katana. When he does the sliding dash he is also cleaning the floor. When he powers up he covers the mop in water. When he throws the energy blast he is squeezing out some of the water. Sir Alonne, the greatest Janitor of all time.
TJD005 "Bewitched Alonne Mop" -Has a special backstab animation where you jab the mop into your opponent's back, then begin to slide on a floor in a cleaning frenzy.
+chodetaculous That's because the second game has a different atmosphere. I only gave the "epic ones" of both games. Gwyn, lord of cinder is my favorite boss, but I woudn't call it epic, more tragic much like Narshandra, the Last Giant, the fume knight, sinh. One that was very epic and probably had the best entrance I've ever seen was the king of elyeum loyce. DS1 is better but DS2 gets waaaaaaay too much hate.
Oh absolutely, Dark Souls 2 is a fantastic game. It has some iffy mechanics such as soul memory, enemies leading their shots, hitboxes. But other than that, it is incredibly good. Some bosses are pushovers, but so were some bosses in demons souls, dark souls 1, and bloodborne. But as in each of those games, the bosses considered pushovers are easily balanced out by the greats of each game. Bloodborne had things like Laurence, Ludwig, The orphan, Amygdala, Gehrman, and the like to balance out easy bosses like Rom and the One Reborn. Dark souls 1 had Artorias, O&S, Manus, Kalameet, Gwyn, and the like balance out Bed of Chaos, Pinwheel, and the Butterfly. Demons was interesting in the way that its bosses weren't that hard at all, but they were so unique and they just took an idea and ran with it. All the bosses in demons are about equal when you know how to beat them, and honestly, its got probably the most unique boss designs in the series. And while dark souls 2 may have some shitty bosses, such as the Prowling Magus, Covetous demon, Vanguard and Authority, and such. It has so many good bosses too! Fume knight, Sir Alonne, Burnt Ivory King, Sinh, Elana, Mirror Knight, Old Dragonslayer, Pursuer, Freya, Old Iron King. There are plenty of awesome bosses in DS2, I just think people don't like the change in style, feel, and pacing with the game. The areas do feel disconnected and unrelated, however, they feel a hell of a lot more unique and creative than i could ever say for dark souls 3 with its excessive rehashes.
+awesomesauce980 Ludwigs mouth to the left of his head vomits that white stuff, murdering Sir Alonne and causing Artorias to attack him, this makes Ludwig go all Holy Blade on his ass and tear him a new one. (You're still my favourite knight Artorias)
@@invader450 I did today. I just never upgraded my adp. I don't use shield either, I only dodge. That's how I play all souls games. Let's just say allone kicked my ass for an hour straight. Fume knight took about 25 minutes but allone completely ended me
Actually fighting Sir Alonne in the dlc was an awesome surprise for me as the blacksteel katanas were my weapon for 99% of the main game of DS2 and I used parts of the alonne knight armor in my outfit. So walking into the boss room to see Sir Alonne standing there waiting for me. It felt like a student challenging the master to a duel. Favorite boss fight in DS2. Ivory king was more of a cinematic fight that always feels like some kind of movie finale and its great dropping in with your knights and summons to take on the charred army. But Alonne is boss that I always have the most fun fighting. It just feels right
Sir Alonne is my favorite as well. Everything about the fight is perfect IMHO. He has a great arena, the best theme in the game, well telegraphed and smooth as butter attacks (his sword buff only activating if you let yourself get hit by his attack, which *stacks* an additional time, was a genius move) make it one of the best fight in the entire series. The pinnacle of challenging but fair.
It's not a stretch to say Alonne is one of the best Fromsoft fights ever to be honest. His fight felt like a smooth dance and the set piece was just an open room. No pillars to hide behind just a straight up battle between warriors
This song honestly sounds like it came from the endgame portions of Darksouls3. Sort of reminds me of the title theme for Darksouls3 with the energy, power and weight it carries!
This song has elements of a lot of DS3 songs. The intro reminds me of Dragonslayer Armor OST or the beginning of phase 2 to the Demon Prince’s, while the choir and some instruments remind me a lot of the Abyss Watchers. I wish I could go back and experience DS2 during its release to see all the foreshadowing in the OSTs
i went in bowed then had a dual with him with the mad warrior set that i had to farm for 8 hours and now i wear his armor and use his sword as a form of respect
"Thou must returneth whence thou came. This floor is c l e a n, its janitors happy, but thou dost not belong. I beg of thee, plunge down from the doormat, and don't dirty home."
A beautiful duel, against a proud warrior. Long did he roam, Sir Alonne, in search of a worthy cause. And one fateful day, a young lord met this wandering knight, the two together ushering forth the Kindom of Iron. But the kings ambitions, his desire to rule forever disgusted Alonne, who quietly took his leave, remembered by his old friend, who named his mighty army in the Ronin's name. And this is where we meet him, alone, in thought, musing if all he did was worth it, in his quest for fame and glory. He knows not who we are, or perhaps he does, but it matters little now, for the Iron Kingdom is gone, charred and blackened stone all that remains. Alonne nonetheless knows, for us to make it this far, we are indeed a fellow warrior, and thus he stands tall, stands proud, ready as always, to face his end. He'd never have been Sir Alonne otherwise
“In his quest for fame and glory” I read that as alonne pondering about his old king, and that just makes me so sad, especially since he still has his old throne, alonne still cares, but cannot support his king’s tyranny, no matter how much of the friend he once was may still linger… 😭
I believe that the prince of Alken is the iron king, when he was young and good-hearted, but something must have happened to the princess of Ven, his beloved, that made him cold and power-hungry, he became a king cruel hunting the undead for sport in Huntsman's Cops, and greedy with his iron castle, maybe Mr Alone is gone because of that
There's one thing that always nags me. The Old Iron King was a nobody before Sir Alonne showed up. Sir Alonne's desire to help is never stated. Why help a lord barely known by other nobles? We know Sir Alonne has some global fame because he was allowed in a nobles court (the Old Iron King didn't invite him) but that's not much to go on. So why help? The why always gets me because there is no concrete answer but I want one.

i mean, it seems like a lot of cultures exist outside of the medieval type stuff in dark souls, why would a japanese civilization be out of place@@pootzmagootz
The areas we play in the From games are just a small part of those worlds. Even the largest one, the lands between from Elden Ring, is not the entire world of that universe. It's usually just places of importance where the games take place.
Prime What about Raime, OG Smelter Demon, Sinh, Velstadt, The Old Dragonslayer, Burnt Ivory King, and the Lost Sinner? All those bosses are really fun to fight, especially 1v1, and a fun boss is a good boss. . .imo.
DeadGuyInTheGround All those bosses are reskins or just way too generic to be memorable and fun in my opinion compared to Demon and Dark Souls' 1 bosses. I can't comment on the Ivory bosses as I'm not motivated to play through it yet
in a way I kind of hoped that using boss weapons would let us use the entire moveset of the bosses. I wanted that dash move he uses, and the curse stab the pursuer uses.
I was expecting the Bewitched Alonne Sword to get a new move set upon stabbing yourself to get the buff. The 2H RT/R2 would become a forward dash and slash, like a mini version of Alonne's. You would also be able to throw the buff at players with with LT/L2, like how Alonne can fire a shadowy projectile. I didn't expect us to continuously stab ourselves AFTER we get the buff...
Xeriath Tal ooooh... ill do that if its a good pvp match.... not like those "hey i summoned you but i have 5 orbs of insta kill ready for the second you finish being summoned! :3"
Yeah, I was hoping so much Ornstein's spear would let you do that really fast thrust move he always does. But nope, almost the same thing as the LGK's R2. :/
0:57 Here you can feel the emotions that the melody of the violins convey, emotions of solemnity and sadness that represent Sir Alonne. But if you listen carefully, it's a kind of sadness that tells you: "You have to face something that is stronger than you and accept defeat, but despite that you remain one of the best."
Yeah, nothing even comes close imo This theme really reminds me of the DS3 main menu music and Gael's theme at times, which shouldn't be surprising, given all three were composed by Yuka Kitamura
In a game were one mistake can more often than not mean death, all while hearing kickass music. Pretty understandable that one would be focused, IT WAS MANDATORY THE MOMENT MUSIC STARTED.
Classical music has been shown to increase thinking capabilities as well as increase cognitive function. That it comes from a boss fight makes no difference.
maybeeeeee its ''Stockholm syndrome'' Stockholm syndrome is an emotional response. It happens to some abuse and hostage victims when they have positive feelings toward an abuser or captor.
I love how much of a waltz this is, it's not just generic videogame music with repetitive drum patterns, there's actual direction, and a complex subtlety not commonly found in other games OST.
It's amazing isn't it? A completely optional boss fight has such an amazing theme to it, and for good reason. This is Sir Alonne, a Warrior from the East which the knights of the Iron King emulated in his honor. And to defeat him is no easy feat, but ultimately, can be a very sad one, for if you defeated him without getting hit even once, he takes his own life instead of you delivering the killing blow. The second time I fought him, I made sure it did not happen, for he deserves to die a true warrior's death, with our blood spilled in battle.
I have to disagree dark souls 2 gave me the most difficult bosses such as Fume knight Raime,Ancient Dragon... and Ivory king another awesome legend just like Artorias and Sir alonne. But you have to admitt Dark souls 2 DLC where the best espically with Fume,Alonne, ivory king
This is so a theme worthy of a final boss. As grand as Sir Alonne was, I almost expect something bigger with this song playing. Then again, I'm kind of off my rocker that way. Sir Alonne was still the best damn boss in all three DLC packs, with the Burnt Ivory King coming at a close second in terms of sheer epicness (losing only because he needs several knights with him, while Sir Alonne actually fights you one on one).
this theme is so great because Alonne is one of the only people in the series to not be corrupted or fall from grace, his ideals were pure, and he had a noble heart of a warrior, and he is by far one of the strongest beings to ever exist in universe. so of course he has a resplendent theme, to match his golden, resplendent Soul.
I feel the score said a lot of Sir Alonne's "temperature", or how he thinks. Based on his moves, his impact, and the score, he was not a motherfucker to mess with. He was disciplined, honor-bound, wise, and possibly most frightening of all, confident. I think what they did for sir Alonne was very much in the same way of Artorias. They showed you the impact they had, and then allowed you to experience the real thing. Sure Artorias was almost a shell of what he was, but even a shell of Artorias was formidable, and with our forever-wondering about Alonne wielding the sword or the sword wielding Alonne, they make very notable characters and bossfights in the same sense. The perfect fusion of story-and-gameplay-at-the-same-time is something Ive seen tried alot but end up with some weird thing with either too little pacing, or is very bumpy or easily interrupted, but Alonne's fight and Artorias's fight are pinnacle examples, and exactly why i am a fan of From Software and trust that they are legitimately trying their best for the fanbase.
Giant Dad I think the idea behind that was that Artorias couldn't handle the Dark. Chosen Undead, being human and therefore born from Dark, was better equipped to endure it. Or something.
+CISsuperdroid Then again, if you DO listen to it while doing schoolwork, you might randomly start cutting up the work with a fucking katana. It happened to me once, my teacher was NOT amused.
It's crazy how mid most of the DS2 OST is in my opinion except for this track. It REALLY stands out and would have fit right in the overall higher quality OSTs of ds3 and bloodborne.
@@ashrafibrahim4934 thats another way to do it. I rather using the cloud on my ps4 so i can always start @the bonfire and legitimateley finish him off. Then you dont have to worry about anything.
u can use the bonfire thingy i don't remember what their called, to fight the area boss on NG+ without actually going to NG+, it was a dark souls 2 only item
This guy is a great example of story telling done well in a video game. You walk in, he is mediating. He stands, does a head bow, and the fight commences. In about 5 seconds I get a sense that this fight is 1) against someone who values wisdom and honor 2) this is a dual 3) this is the dual this guy has been waiting for his whole life. It heightens the drama in the fight. Think about how, say, Dragon Age Inquisition would do this fight. You would get about 5 minutes of a long villain speech and exposition where the villain says I am evil. No real gameplay occurs. Thank you fromsoft for this fight.
Also if you believe Vaati's story about Alonne and the Iron King... this fight is symbolic of a fight between Alonne and the Old Iron King. Bear in mind that they were once very close friends. I feel this is probably true, which is why I feel the sadness of this song is fitting.
Kellen McQueen I feel you are totally right. this is the most fitting video game song I have ever heard this is right next to knight artorias. the music of artorias is fitting, it has darkness, sadness same with this,
Okay yes, but before you go throwing another game under the bus, this was one of the few bosses in Dark Souls 2 that was done like this- or for that matter, even done right. In fact, Dks2 has a lot of terrible boss fights. Dsk1 is where the real shit went down.
I want to play this game but i need to know the name of edition which contained all dlc's : crown of the ivory king , crown of the old iron king and crown of the sunken king ??
New covenant, the Disciples of Allone, with requirements of killing all foes with any katana, and must bow at least once before killing them in order to attain tokens. That would certainly put a lot of honour in PVP, and making losing seem just a little bit better to a stronger opponent.
Bogs Binny at least dark souls 1 music had other personality than just epic and generic like dark souls 2 pinwheel's theme is much more interesting than almost anything in this game
@Archvile ds2 is a good game, sir alonne is very amazing imagine if he was in dark souls 3 Speedx5 Damagex5 More combos and cooler moves 2 phases damn would even wreck midir in a single touch
@@alduinfr You just have to evade him old school with a litlle spike in difficulty with his cursed pain train stab move. That needs a bit of anticipation/experience but it's nothing difficult. For that you have to just skill ADP up to 30-33 to increase your I-frames/agility enough. Summons however can come in handy if you want to use the pacifist strategy against him. What is also fun but not necessary. He will just perform Seppuku when you beat him without getting hit in order to restore his honor.
The only boss that bow first to you before the fight. Love the moment when we kill him without taking any damages and he committed seppuku as an act of shame.
Actual effort in making a boss theme memorable, not artificially difficult, shows respect to player Sir Alonne is Miyazaki in disguise. Vaati pls confirm
Hmm... Not sure which Japanese warrior you're talking about, but I think the wandering philosopher, Musashi Miyamoto, would fit a little better as Sir Allone.
I have an inkling that he's solaire's reincarnation... As they're both from the land of the sun ( east...Zing!!) And Soooo grossly incandescent. And while solaire brought the sun to rise... Alonne watched it set ( the king going corrupted, etc...) And now awaits his end watching it as drowns in the distance.

+Dahosfan Well, after you die to him for the tenth time in ng+, he'll use the salt in your tears to clean off your blood on his floor. It's quite an effective system.
+Cresivia Walk through the fog alone, bow back to Sir Alonne, and defeat him without getting hit. All he asks of you is the honor to take his own life after the duel. I did that and feel pretty pro.
@@bigidiot1428 I don't think anyone from the previous From games stand a lot of chance against Malenia. She is an empyrean demigod who is not only vastly powerful but insanely skilled as well. You would need something like prime Gwyn or Vendrick or adult Orhpan of Kos to take her down in my opinion. And maybe even they would bite the dust. This chick stalemated with a guy who could hold back a meteor shower while being a shadow of his former self and then devastate an entire country with one attack. On top of that she becomes even stronger during her boss fight against us where she ascends to proper godhood with the third blooming.
I died easily 40 times for him trying 5 days straight just to kill him for the first time. Sometimes with the NPCs, sometimes not, because I was spending all my efigies. I don't want to think about how much time will it take for me to achieve that lol
Sean Knapp Prowling Magus, Rat Vanguard, Bell Gargoyles (a copy paste boss), along with Old dragon slayer, and Rat autority (sif). Many of the bosses are large humanoids wielding large weapons that all require the same tactic to defeat... The bosses are good on their own, but compared to the previous soul installments (DS1 and DeS), they are disappointing
I recently began helping my friend beat Dark Souls 2. We had a wonderful time doing the main story line. My friend didn't understand why I was so excited to jump into the Crown of the Old Iron King DLC. When he asked, I simply replied with "Sir Alonne..." He is going to hate me when I tell him that he's doing the fight alone. One does not simply gangbang Sir Alonne. One must have honor. One must bow when they enter this duel. One must clash blades with this most honorable opponent. One must abstain from using sorceries, pyromancies, miracles, and hexes. One must give Sir Alonne the fight that he deserves. This is my favorite boss from all of the Souls games with Dragonslayer Ornstein, Knight Artorias, Velstadt the Royal Aegis, Maiden Astraea, the Burnt Ivory King, and Great Grey Wolf Sif coming closely behind. Thank you FromSoftware for giving him a most fitting theme.
despite people saying sir alonne is the easiest dlc boss, I always had such a hard time with him. to this day I have yet to beat him solo and with honor. I feel like alonne loses all respect for me when he sees me come through his fog gate with phantoms.
@NavyBluStick I disagree. Infact I had the hardest time with him of iron king. Smelter demon was a pain, but I just had to put my full concentration to kill him. Fume knight was just the easiest thing i’ve ever killed in my life but Alonne was my nightmare for 2 days straight, even though i’ve killed every boss Ds1, Ds3, Bloodborne and Sekiro has to offer, I still found him hard. Until something clicked. I had gotten him to around 40% hp and then for the rest of the fight i’d only been maybe twice. He is my favorite boss in the series!
Kinda easy. Sir Allone suffers from "walking a bit to the right when he attacks" syndrome. And I'm sure as shit not doing a second playthrough of DS2 to fight a boss properly. Fume Knight is goated cause he counters that shit fast.
@@chunkytomatosoup1826 Only things that make Raime hard is his small sword attacks in first phase and deadly ds2 combination of shitty hitboxes + big damage in second.
@@iamnotweak9259hitboxes were fine. You just have to realize that he has a giant ass greatsword with large fume particles on it so its gonna have a large hitbox. Main issue though is your agility. People shit on ds2 hitboxes but they are fine, its just the lack of s from not leveling adp enough. Its still dumb how s are tied to a stat tho.
IKR? People shit on the game constantly when it’s flaws are for the most part not even exclusive to it. And given the development issues it’s incredible that the game is even as good as it is, so I can forgive the issues.
+xHav3 Because of the back story ( in great part ). Nothing is more dramatic, epic, and glorious, than fratricide battle... When you read between the lines of the story that connect the Iron King and him, you discover more deepness into these theme ... and into this musical masterpiece. In other words : a perfect symphonny for a perfect battle since the fight of Sif ( personnal taste ).
+xHav3 I'm pretty sure its a different composer here Sakuraba does most of the Tracks in DaS 1 and DaS 2 Says a lot about him when the standout tracks aren't by him
It has to do with yuka kitamura. But the thing is you really see how something like this can get really overdone in DS3. Dark Souls 2 has lots of amazing sound design, just because motoi sakuraba chose a different route it doesnt mean it sucks. (Elden Ring solved staleness by getting different composers) Themes like: Darklurker, Fume Knight, Sinh, King Vendrick, skeleton lords, the pursuer, dragonrider and demon of song are all amazing. The lack of enthusiasm probably arises more due to the short lived nature and easiness of some of these fights!
BlackSteel KeyChain yeah I've kind of screwed myself as all my Titenite Slabs were spent on armor and heavy slow weapons. as well i blew all my soul vessels in a Giant lord farming.
Beat this boss yesterday, and man it's so good. One of the few fights that I think would be one of the best no matter what game it appeared in because it's just designed that well. You get into such a good rhythm after a while that you don't even think about the attacks that are coming you just know. This felt like two warriors honoring each other with an incredible sparring match and god damn does this music compliment it gorgeously
yeah this is my favorite fight in this series, feels like a dance that keeps you in a complete flow state music and atmosphere are also top notch because this is ds2

I thought the main theme, Mohg´s, Malenia´s (which still induces pure fear in me lol) and Fire Giant´s were hard to match. But now, having listened to Alonne´s Theme for more than half an hour consecutively, I totally get your point. It really is perfect. Getting major goosebumps from it the whole time.
Idk gays, this might be the best theme from the whole trilogy. Ultra-biased opinion, cuz this is my 1st souls game, but still... This is really something else. I lack the words to describe it. It's simply amazing.
God! This music encapsulates the levels of Epic I always wanted out of Dark Souls 2. This theme and Sinh's theme are a million times more magnificent and well composed than any other boss theme in Dark Souls 2.
In about half of the songs, I agree. There's some pretty good stuff in the main game too, still. My absolute favorite, although this song here comes close, is the Ruin Sentinal/Smelter Demon theme. When you drop straight into the pit so you can fight all three Ruin Sentinals, with that theme song, it's a pretty epic and fun fight.
It's midnight and I am listening to this while doing my homework. I can't help but feel how this song perfectly fits Sir Alonne. It brings to my mind scenes of a young Alonne doing the same moves with his sword over and over again. Everytime more and more tired while his strength grows. This is the sound of someone whose way of life is constant improvement through endless training. The sound of some getin gut.
DS2 has some amazing DLC Bosses. Sir Alonne, Aava, Blue Smelter Demon, Burnt Ivory King, Fume Knight and of course Sinh. The only real disappointment is Lud and Zallen, who are simply Aava clones (in fact I'd like to see another version with a new Boss)

Dragonmots git gud casual ~ Light speed katana-wielding Alonne knight
Dragonmots well too be honest no matter how bad you are you might as well enjoy it
Actually fighting Sir Alonne in the dlc was an awesome surprise for me as the blacksteel katanas were my weapon for 99% of the main game of DS2 and I used parts of the alonne knight armor in my outfit.
No pillars to hide behind just a straight up battle between warriors
the Sir Alonne boss fight was the Sekiro of boss fights before Sekiro was a thing.
In my opinion him and fume knight are the 2 funnest fights in ds2
@@Dante_drip i like fume and alonne fights thats for sure
This song honestly sounds like it came from the endgame portions of Darksouls3. Sort of reminds me of the title theme for Darksouls3 with the energy, power and weight it carries!
It's because Yuka Kitamura composed this, her style shines through this
And she's one of the main composers for DS3 if not the main composer
1:48 - 2:20 sounds very similar to a section near the middle of the ds3 title theme
Kinda reminds me of Gael's OST
This song has elements of a lot of DS3 songs. The intro reminds me of Dragonslayer Armor OST or the beginning of phase 2 to the Demon Prince’s, while the choir and some instruments remind me a lot of the Abyss Watchers. I wish I could go back and experience DS2 during its release to see all the foreshadowing in the OSTs
@@Metawire61 The string buildup and haunting lone female voice is also incredibly reminiscent of the DS3 main theme.

“In his quest for fame and glory”
I read that as alonne pondering about his old king, and that just makes me so sad, especially since he still has his old throne, alonne still cares, but cannot support his king’s tyranny, no matter how much of the friend he once was may still linger…
😭
Wtf is this lmao
All these years and this ost still goes as hard as the first time I ever heard it

I find it weird that in this world there's still a Japanese civilization. It just feels so out of place lol
i mean, it seems like a lot of cultures exist outside of the medieval type stuff in dark souls, why would a japanese civilization be out of place@@pootzmagootz
The areas we play in the From games are just a small part of those worlds. Even the largest one, the lands between from Elden Ring, is not the entire world of that universe. It's usually just places of importance where the games take place.

Airi Oh how could I forget about him QQ And him too ::P
Both of those sound a billion times better than what we got.
or at least vestaldts chime hammer to ring when you swing it
I was expecting the Bewitched Alonne Sword to get a new move set upon stabbing yourself to get the buff.
Exactly

In a game were one mistake can more often than not mean death, all while hearing kickass music. Pretty understandable that one would be focused, IT WAS MANDATORY THE MOMENT MUSIC STARTED.

Classical music has been shown to increase thinking capabilities as well as increase cognitive function. That it comes from a boss fight makes no difference.

Most optional bosse in souls are amazing 🤩

Best song of all souls series
One of the greatest fights and themes in all of soulsborne. Bombastically tragic and desperate. I love this game so much
Sir Alonne is the reason for why Dark Souls 2 was not a mistake
A lot of great things about 2. Alonne is just the cherry on the cake.
bro what about vendrick? he is like the saddest thing in Dark souls. even more than sif, at least for me.
Cao Cao Dark Souls 2 is essentially only the 3 dlcs, the true DS2 that is.
Mirror knight wasn't half bad and old dragonslayer, but screw the rest except for dlc ivory king for life
I have to disagree dark souls 2 gave me the most difficult bosses such as Fume knight Raime,Ancient Dragon...
and Ivory king another awesome legend just like Artorias and Sir alonne. But you have to admitt Dark souls 2 DLC where the best espically with Fume,Alonne, ivory king
2:20 - 2:22. I love that break in the chorus
The perfect fusion of story-and-gameplay-at-the-same-time is something Ive seen tried alot but end up with some weird thing with either too little pacing, or is very bumpy or easily interrupted, but Alonne's fight and Artorias's fight are pinnacle examples, and exactly why i am a fan of From Software and trust that they are legitimately trying their best for the fanbase.
its implied we simply wouldn't have won to a Full Power Artorias, as he was the strongest Warrior of his time.
Keith Filibeck We killed Manus didn't we?
Giant Dad I think the idea behind that was that Artorias couldn't handle the Dark. Chosen Undead, being human and therefore born from Dark, was better equipped to endure it. Or something.

Sir Alonne: **Exists**
Old Iron King: *_Write that down, write that down!!!_*

This is what you hear after entering inside a Japanese person's house without taking off your shoes
This music it's insane he's my best boss ds2 ever
He was beating my ass so bad i never realized how good his theme is lol
Man, even after going through all ds3 boss themes, Sir Alonne's Theme still slaps harder
This is an accurate summary of how I feel when people shit talk DS2
IKR? People shit on the game constantly when it’s flaws are for the most part not even exclusive to it. And given the development issues it’s incredible that the game is even as good as it is, so I can forgive the issues.
Why is this boss music so much more epic then the others lol I love this boss
+xHav3 Because Sir Alonne is the boss who 'EARNED' a theme like this. The fight is just epic on itself, joined with this music...
+xHav3 They used an actual orchestra and choir for this boss, all the others are computer generated using sound libraries.
A fake choir was used aswell. Check out Hellkite drake's video about the "lyrics" of this song.
+xHav3 I'm pretty sure its a different composer here
Sakuraba does most of the Tracks in DaS 1 and DaS 2
Says a lot about him when the standout tracks aren't by him
Dark souls 2 always in my heart. This theme is amazing. I´m crying
Bless FromSoft and their incredible… well, everything
i want Sir Alonne for my birthday
To do what exactly?
cut the cake?
+jose roman That'd be pretty fucking awesome though.
L A S E R M A N He wouldn’t be alone anymore..
While DS2 is a good souls-like, this is truly a souls boss
It’s honestly absurd how good this ost is compared to the rest of the boss themes in ds2.
Same. I always felt like this is the first track in the series that got us towards the more bombastic DS3 and later on Elden Ring OSTs.
It has to do with yuka kitamura. But the thing is you really see how something like this can get really overdone in DS3. Dark Souls 2 has lots of amazing sound design, just because motoi sakuraba chose a different route it doesnt mean it sucks.
(Elden Ring solved staleness by getting different composers)
Themes like: Darklurker, Fume Knight, Sinh, King Vendrick, skeleton lords, the pursuer, dragonrider and demon of song are all amazing.
The lack of enthusiasm probably arises more due to the short lived nature and easiness of some of these fights!
@@eyesontheinside5776 ngl I do really like Fume Knight and Giant Lord/Last Giant.
Ruin sentinels/Smelter Demon is hella good tho
Mad love for this and everything about this boss fight. It's a masterpiece. Spot on From Software.
That is soooo right. Personally, this boss fight made me love this DLC almost even more than the rest of the entire game itself.
Dgaroth deadass
I wish he was not immune to magic though as that's half my arsenal
i hate it when they do that to some specific builds. it all but forces you to co-op.
BlackSteel KeyChain yeah I've kind of screwed myself as all my Titenite Slabs were spent on armor and heavy slow weapons. as well i blew all my soul vessels in a Giant lord farming.
Just imagine you are there admiring that magnificently polished floor and some dude in a kilt passes by.
Beat this boss yesterday, and man it's so good. One of the few fights that I think would be one of the best no matter what game it appeared in because it's just designed that well. You get into such a good rhythm after a while that you don't even think about the attacks that are coming you just know. This felt like two warriors honoring each other with an incredible sparring match and god damn does this music compliment it gorgeously
yeah this is my favorite fight in this series, feels like a dance that keeps you in a complete flow state
music and atmosphere are also top notch because this is ds2
Floor is so clean its got ray tracing
"Hmm, maybe it's time to see if I can dodge this guy" *Gets impaled on Katana and thrown like a ragdoll* "NOPE"
"Can I use my shield then?" *stabbed through the shield*
"Also nope"
For Elden Ring to beat this is going to be the hardest challenge it’ll go through.
This piece of music messed around with my music taste so much when I was a pre teen. Set my down a path of music I’m glad I’m on. It’s fucking perfect dude
No OST in Elden Ring beats Sir Alonne’s theme.
@@theatheistbear3117 Sadly yeah, seems kitamura didn't compose many of the themes for Elden Ring, however the very few are still very great tracks.
@@aquasomnus Main menu, Fortissax and Placidusax have great music, but I was actually expecting more from the ER ost...
@@theatheistbear3117 no soulsbornekinoringsekirodemonsscholarfofthefirstsintodiefading theme apart from maybe gael soul of cinder and twin princes can beat sir alonne ngl
For me it was exactly the other way around, as Elden Ring has been my first souls game ever (damn, what I have been missing on...).
For anyone playing the Dark Souls Trilogy for the first time. This song is definitely great build-up to what Dark Souls 3 has to offer music-wise.
I need to do another DS2 playthrough damnit.
Artorias Fandom : artorias and the most awesome knight of all dark souls
Sir Alonne : hmmm......excuse me sir
Sir alonne samurai
@@Halalryu xue fo piao piao
both?
both?
both are good
God! This music encapsulates the levels of Epic I always wanted out of Dark Souls 2. This theme and Sinh's theme are a million times more magnificent and well composed than any other boss theme in Dark Souls 2.
So awesome right? The only way to beat this boss in honor is, 1vs1, you vs him, no magic, no potions, no shields, no summons, just a sword and you :))
San Son i tried that... for 3 hours... the lowest i got him was 30% prox before he used that jump attack xD
*cough* Ruin Sentinels
***** Everyone can agree, best theme of the Souls games is the Tower Knight. They're practically laughing at the DSP-motherfuckers.
"Is this the blood? Thy blood on the speckless floor?"
Sir Alonne-
Sir Alonne spends thousand of years cleaning the floor just to be messed by some idiot without humanity
This is my favorite track in the trilogy. Dark Souls 2 has most of my favorite banger tracks
İ think blue smelter is bad too,i kinda liked elana by the way
Blue Smelter Demon is literally just the Smelter Demon but blue. I'd put Elana in there, even tho she's not that hard, it's a good boss.
dont forget about one of the worst bosses in the series, the gank trio or whatever the actual name is
@@theeliteterrarian1888 it doesn’t have a real name. It’s just the gank squad
Played this track as i was doing outdoor cardio, i'm in New Zealand now
My opinion, best theme in the Soulsborne series.
Agreed. At least top 5.
Lorian's theme being number one I presume.
Definitely man, definitely
+Ace Boogiie Lorians theme... I don't think anything can beat the goosebumps that fight gave me
Best boss fight in DS3 for me.
Alonne: (waiting for chosen undead)
Gael: (Gael walks in and takes off his boot he locks eye contact and keeps it whilst ash teems out of the boot for a solid 2 minutes)
