When I was 10, I remember catching a garner snake that everyone was freaking out about, eventually I let it go, but I'll never forget my first snake experience!
In southern Louisiana, garter snakes are thriving, more than thriving. They get pretty big full grown. Got 3 in my backyard that hang around. Seems the same with all my neighbors backyards in the garden beds and around the breather holes of the house.
Not everything is related to climate change. Sheesh. San Francisco garter snakes feed mainly on amphibians, including the Sierran treefrog and California red-legged frog. However, the threatened California red-legged frog is considered the most important part of their diet. This results in the unique situation of one endangered species depending on a threatened species for its livelihood.
Finally advocating for reptiles and snakes. Real animal lovers I would love to work a similar job monitoring our threatened Western Pond Turtles down in California's South Land.
GOOD GUUGALY GUU. YOU MEAN THE SNAKE ON THE PLAIN. THEY NEED A RIDE. CONFESSION TO ALL THE SLITHER ING THEY DO NOW THEY NEED A RIDE. AND TO GET WERE THEY LIY.... FASTER... YOU PEOPLE ARE VERY DEEP ROOTED IN THIS GAME OF RAIN N PAIN... JUST DEEP
A bunch of balogna . . . not very long ago the tree huggers were up in arms about cats preying on endangered mice near Daly City. San Francisco International Airport is adjacent to those turfs.
Nice story, but they lost me, when I hear "because of climate change" I stopped listening. Bunch of chicken "boc boc boc, the sky is falling bukaw!" You keep take your "Feels like temps" and buckoff.
God bless these people that are saving these animals🙏🙌
be kind to everything that lives.
This is awesome, they needed to be saved.

That’s actually pretty awesome thank you for protecting them
Wow...Great job SFO! It would be good to let more travelers know about this at the airport.

That is a different species of garter snake, there are actually around 35 species of garter snake.
Amazing snake. It’s great they are trying to save it
Don't share locations with people. It only spells disaster for the animal/species.
Interesting. Who says you can't learn something new every day!
Incroyable SNAKE

Wow great job SF I wish they would do this for mountain lions and bears but hey it's a start.
Well… Snakes are not my favorite animal but they have a purpose in our ecosystem.🤔🇺🇸❤️

There are more than a dozen species of garter snakes...I still see plenty of "garter snakes" around the NW. What species/area are you talking about?
I always thought they were common snakes

"Want to see me feed a mouse to my pet snake?"
Do the goats and snakes act ok near each other
Garter snakes aren't endangered lmao. They're the most numerous and versatile of all snake species in Earth.
Many different species of garter snakes. This one there are only 1000 to 2000 left in the wild. It is also the most beautiful snake!

Climate change reference is pretty lame without any facts mentioned.
