- Here'a an immaculate 1981 set that uses the Cybernet 134 chassis.
Just needed a realignment to bring the transmit up to 4W (was 3w) & the receive to 0.23uV for 12DB SINAD. Apart from that the low power preset needed changing.

I had one of these, cracking little set.
What a nice set it is :D
Memories of 1990 for me I bought one of these after selling up 6 months previous to give CB another go and decided to put it on my Altai power supply which I had kept for other projects, anyway everyone was saying I was pushing +30 regardless of where they were even far away this went on for a week and the set went bang I took it to Doug aka Barrellspanner and he said it's had too much voltage through it but he managed to fix the radio and he told me to bring in my power supply it was then I realised I had used the Altai for a project and upped the voltage to max and forgot oops lol.
we have these things called mobile phones now.......
So you think that mobile phone have replaced all 2-way radio systems do you? Mobile phones rely on third party infratructure to work. Mobile phones aren't instant...you have to dial a number.
Typically in business (not now talking about Citizen's band hobby radio), a 2-way radio conversation is like this....
"Base to mobile 3, over"
"Mobile 3 receiving"
"Were you able to repair the widget at XYA company"
"Mobile 3, Roger"
"Great, Base out"
That takes 15 seconds & is legal to do "whem safe to do so" in a car..
