When I moved to where I live in the countryside of the US kids used to trick or treat every year. It has been years since anyone came to my door at Halloween. You do notice these things. It's like the country started to change for the worst 12-15 years ago.
Yeah This sucks bad. I remember pre covid the neighborhood was packed with kids, knocks on the door till 1am I loved it! Now, maybe 3 families, everything has changed for the worst.
12-15 years ago coincides with the .gov handing trillions to the banks and flushing the average indebted American down the drain with inflation. Seems like not just correlation, but causation.
you better go visit the DR first... it's not all sunshine and roses there either... lots and lots of corruption with the authorities. The police there will roll you for your money faster than the criminals in the U.S. will. Do your research, there's a reason why many of these countries are cheaper... some are okay, some are not.

I'm planning on doing the same. The education system in America is apocalyptic. The kids are so far behind. It enrages me. My kids have no services, you have to jump through a million hoops just to talk to somebody. I could move overseas, and get my kids specialized attention overnight, instead of waiting years for a chance. I would do my children a disservice if I keep them here. In the USA you do not ever really own your home after paying it off. Home taxes, housing associations, and insurance cost $400. - $1000 a month. Seriously! Give your home to your children and inheritance taxes apply.
You need to do more research then… not everyone pays inheritance tax. Don’t you remember that infamous speech by Trump? There are loop holes for a reason that everyone uses except the common citizen.
America is not a great country, it is only a country of great opportunity. You can’t even say Disneyland, theme parks comic cons etc etc anymore because those are everywhere too.
I am from the Dominican Republic, and I can confidently say that it is a beautiful country. The cost of living is relatively low, especially if one avoids excessive and immoral behaviors. Regarding classism, there is some truth to what he says. In the Dominican Republic, a college degree is highly valued and respected, and it takes years of hard work and dedication to achieve it. However, there are also many rappers, delinquents, and thugs who come from impoverished backgrounds and engage in hedonistic lifestyles. Due to the influence of social media and the club/party scene, these individuals often influence others from similar areas to adopt their behaviors. This situation is reminiscent of the mentality prevalent in the Dominican Republic during the 1970s to 1990s, where certain areas were considered dangerous and inaccessible to the general public. The extremely poor often reside in remote mountainous regions, where they lack basic amenities such as proper sanitation and rely on rainwater for survival. They primarily use motorcycles for transportation. In contrast, middle-class and upper-class individuals who pursue higher education and successful careers typically aspire to move out of their current neighborhoods and into more affluent areas, adopting a different lifestyle. In the US I've seen principals of school that are my age with masters degrees dancing and being in clubs smoking hookah and being ungodly. This is why I'm planning on going out there and staying for good because atleast even in this perspective the clasism regarding women they majority of the time are having a coffee with fellow college associates and or at a church two times a week. Fun fact Dominican Republic is the only flag in the world that has the Bible in the middle!

Thats the main reason many foreigners think America is so wonderful, we can make easy, fast, big money there (use to be, for a short period, 1980's-1990's, meaning, if you have inside financial connections, easy credit card, home quity loan money and, look at all these neat stores, malls, where we can buy anything we want. The big illusion is OVER!😊
I'm born in 1970. But I did not experience the 70s like the 80s. But with each passing decade, people got further apart. The term not knowing your next door neighbor was coin in the 1980s. Crime was bad in many areas. Chain gangs of the 70s became drug gangs of the 1980s. Crack cocaine took over so did crime. This forced people inside, especially in many lower income neighborhoods at the time. It wasn't a good period by any means. But it did have culture. And there was a lot more music variety.

In the hopes that Bo and anyone interested reads this comment, I will explain why Romania is family oriented. In Romania, when a woman is pregnant, she is legally obligated to inform her employer the moment she gets confirmation from her doctor. According to Romanian law, a woman can get up to 120ish days of pre-natal and post-natal leave. That means about 4 months off. She can opt for a reduced schedule of 6 working hours, instead of 8. At the 7-month mark, she can enter pre-natal leave and the employer will pay her salary, then deduct this expense from the margin with the state and all. So less taxes payed by the employer. Baby gets born, she gets 2-months of post-natal leave. Same drill as pre-natal leave. After the post-natal leave, she will enter Child Raising Leave where the state can pay her up to 8500 lei or 1700 euro every month for 1 year and 10 months ( 22 months), based on her earnings and salaries. No taxes. Also, the child gets for 2 years 140 euros per month for up to two years. and then it will be 60 euros per month. In addition, the mother gets MATERNA vouchers, 400 euros bonus from Social Services per child. You do the math: up to 2 years and 2 months off work. After that, the child can be sent to daycare, we have both state-funded and private day care. State-funded is getting better, but it's not perfect. Also, the father can get a month or two off work in the same manner as the mother, by simply applying for Child Raising Leave. Also, according to Romanian law, you can get bonuses that are tax deductible and tax free up to 100 euros per child, twice a year. And there are some other minor tax breaks as well. So yeah, we got something right with the child and families.
I get a month 100% paid leave and a 6month window to take it. My wife gets 3 months non paid but in our previous state 4 months 80% pay. I have unlimited PTO with my employer and flex schedule as well as work from home and federal max for travel expense. My wife works remotely anywhere in the US with flex schedule We homeschool with lots of freedom. There are homeschool tax deductions. We get child tax credits. I get between $8-12k depending on admin. We live in the US. People are either living in the wrong states or working for the wrong employers. There are opportunities here.

10:47 racism in the US has morphed from what most people consider as racist. It used to deal with different races. Now they call you racist if you pronounce a name differently. They call you racist for anyone that speaks against the gender roles. They have distorted the whole meaning of the word. This whole woke cultural thrives around redefining men and women and relationships to assimilate it into the norm. Personally I hate watching advertising and shows that make the gay and lesbian lifestyle shove their lifestyle down our throats.
Mexicans are ultra racist to their own kind that they claim to be so proud of. All the "Aztec" pride goes out the window when it comes insulting someone. Now its all about calling them "indio" or "nopal" and its all about looking white and having European blood. I also find it hilarious when black American "passport bros" think they're "desired" by SE Asian women, Latin or Eastern Europe. Bro, they're all mostly racist. Yeah, you'll find a few that have a black fetish but no different than the US. US is probably the least racist major country. Mexicans in Mexico don't even like Mexican Americans. European here. My two cents. Move to the UK or Ireland first. You'll get lots of time off - mandatory 20 vacation days (not including weekends). If you work Monday - Friday you'll be looking at approximately 134 days off per year. Weekends off = 104 days. Vacation days = 20 days. Public holidays -= 10 days. Total = 134. This will give you lots of time off to explore eastern Europe. There are low cost airlines here like EasyJet and Ryanair that can get you to Romania or Hungary on the cheap. The UK and Ireland are very expensive, however, skilled tradesmen are well paid. Plus, you have the language issue. - in the UK and Ireland people speak English. Start out in the UK or Ireland and work your way east.

The big illusion is OVER!😊
I loved the 80's and 90's but the 70's was the last decade of the real america.
The issue is having employment where a person can earn American dollars but live abroad. That's the ONLY challenge for most actually.

Here we are.
Me being from Haiti knows what its like to LIVE. Of course my country is not in the best shape right now but growing up as a child in the late 90s and early 2000s. What are the tradesman salaries like in Eastern Europe? Enough to have a middle class lifestyle? I dont need much, but I want to be able to support a family.
