Sometimes the hardware that is currently available is too weak to fully allow the user to experience the game in the way the developers ambitioned. So sometimes the dev's create a game where modern hardware can only play at the minimum specs with the hope that future hardware will be able to play the game the way it was actually meant to be played. An example of this is trying to make a game with epic medieval battles where each army is fielding hundreds of troops at its rival. Such a project would leave the game essentially unplayable on an old dual core i3, and barely playable on a quadcore i5 and i7. But then a few years later, cpu's became much more powerful and each cpu line suddenly had more cores and threads (i3 became 4 cores 8 threads, i5 became 6 cores 12 threads, i7 became 8 cores 16 threads). These new cpu's would then allow the project to finally be played the way it was meant to be played (hundreds of warriors fighting on the battlefield at a smooth 60fps+ with no stuttering).

my friend who knows hardly anything about computers just got 1070 from his uncle who didn't use it anymore and said that the games run pretty bad so I came to his house to take a look, we run some games and they were stuttering like crazy, opened task manager and he was running i3 4th gen with 8gb of ddr 3 set to 666mhz, wasn't to happy when I said to him that he will need to upgrade nearly everything in his computer
Well, he could upgrade the RAM to 16gb and CPU only if he goes with an i7 4790, i7 4770 or Xeon equivalent,, games will run much better. Also, the RAM is running at 1333mhz, it just shows up as half speed sometimes, it's definitely not at 666mhz :) Idk if an upgrade to a newer platform with a recent i3 and selling the old parts would be less expensive though, could be
Still using the i3-2100 and gt620. Valorant runs 60+ but stutters a lot and minecraft runs much better with optifine and lower settings. It's really nice to see someone testing older stuff and not only latest and greatest PC components.
I have this in my system right now actually, hopefully that changes soon with an i5-6500 Interesting how low the FPS was in CS:GO there. I have the i3 paired with a GT 1030 on slightly higher settings and I was getting better FPS
If you have i3 2nd gen or 3rd gen, get the i5. These run much better in semi modern games. The prices for the i5s are quite low. Eg here in Australia the i3-2100 is around $10 AUD and the i5 is around $20 AUD (base models). The jump from 2C/4T might not sound much but the 4C/4T are a definitely big step up. If you have a Z board and can find a i5-2500K or i5-3570K that can do 4.2-4.3Ghz with no issues then you will be totally ok playing previous get A+ titles at lower resolutions (maybe not Cyberpunk).. Maybe do a vid and how a base i5 would do. something like i5-2400 or i5-2500 non K. Also an interesting vid would be to play these games on something from the 4th gen.. like a i3-4160. I have not tested that setup but it might be good for a video.

I think it's stupid that you can use a 1080 ti with 11gb on that really old motherboard/CPU combo but a Nvidia Tesla m40 with 12gb won't run on it cuz the board don't have "above 4g decoding" settings on it. Also, the RAM is running at 1333mhz, it just shows up as half speed sometimes, it's definitely not at 666mhz :)
Idk if an upgrade to a newer platform with a recent i3 and selling the old parts would be less expensive though, could be
kryzzp how you ever thought of using Teardown or the Titanic For Honor and Glory demo for your benchmarks?
No, just veca they're not that popular!
Still using the i3-2100 and gt620. Valorant runs 60+ but stutters a lot and minecraft runs much better with optifine and lower settings. It's really nice to see someone testing older stuff and not only latest and greatest PC components.
I have this in my system right now actually, hopefully that changes soon with an i5-6500
Interesting how low the FPS was in CS:GO there. I have the i3 paired with a GT 1030 on slightly higher settings and I was getting better FPS
Lower end GPU's do better since less bottleneck
It depends of map and if you have already played one or two games , that way it becomes more consistent with the fps
Can you test the i5-3570 next? It’s old, but it can game pretty good considering its age. I’m getting around 100FPS in GTA V on very high lol
I have not tested that setup but it might be good for a video.
cant belive you tested my gt705 and my i3 thanks :)
can you test the performance of e5-2670v2 with 3090 ?
Bro test the intel core 2 duo e7500
It's actually crazy how well optimized Valorant is. I run it with intel UHD 630 at 1080p and I get around 75 fps average.
I've played a lot of WoW on the UHD 630, with an i7 7700, very nice little GPU.
I am thinking to buy 13 12100 uhd 730 I dont want to play games only some light games like minecraft etc and do coding. Is it okay
@@Pram6969 It will run Minecraft on low setting without any problems. And you can always buy GPU if you want to play other games
Settings???🤔
@@buymeplease 1080p low everything
Finally i can play some forza on my i3 2120 thanks for testing this
I'm still using i3 3220 and yeah it's not a pleasant experience.
I like your content zwormz gaming
Well I hope next you will try the RTX 2070 GPU if you have it but if you don't maybe you could test the AMD Ryzen 7 5700G CPU 🙏
Day 125 of saying that I love your channel, now pls test i3 7th gen
Ahhh I don't have it for now!
@@zWORMzGamingIt's okay, but pls in the future and it's my cpu 2.30 GHZ and 7100u
Pls replay i have 8gb kingston ddr3 1333mhz ram dual channel and one 2gb dual channel ddr3 1333mhz ram transcend company
Is that said to be dual or single channel and is that will work or not with my 2slot pc
Another question 4×2 ram ddr3 1333mhz vs 2 gb ram and one 8gb ram ddr3 1333mhz
Which give more fps ?
Krispy pls pls pls replay me 🥺🥺🥺
2x4gb will work in dual channel and 8+2 won't (most of the time)
Basically the 8+2 config will work in dual channel until it surpasses 4gb of usage, then it reverts to single channel, go with 4x2 :)
@@zWORMzGaming k thanks then i put 4×2ram for my pc
I wonder how good is this cpu for office stuff. I'd like to get one for my mom, to watch youtube, netflix, email etc.
I have a i7 2640m (2cores and 4 threads) with a GeForce gtx 560ti on e-gpu and fortnite run in 1080p performance mode at 60fps (lock fps) without any freeze it's very impressive...
I'm watching this video with an i3-2100 right now 😝
09:30 reminds me of Nine Inch Nails. Bob is dead, and no-one cares! If there is a hell, I’ll see you there!
Love these videos, i keep watching vids to see how the performance on gpus are and i actually got a 2gb gddr5 gt 730 to run without crashing at +260 on memory and core overclock
damn my first cpu
this is my pc processor with intel graphics and it's so very bad
I am currently using this same i3-2120 and I just saw your video get uploaded, so I came to watch it as I wanted to know which games can run 'smoothly' with this processor. Also I am using a Geforce 210 GPU but I want to find out how to enable/disable the iGPU (Intel HD 2000) as pairing these two gives very bad frames in like CS:GO; it doesn't even stay consistent on 30fps and stutters like hell.
Thanks for uploading good content as always.......Much support.
What are your computers specifications?(Aside from the CPU and Graphics deceleration unit)
i have [i3 3,40ghz] 8GB Ram Ddr3 on 1333mhz] [Video Card GTX 750Ti 2GB 128bit ]Can someone explain to me where this problem comes from, when I play a stream on UA-cam from Geforce my laptop lags when I play and on the stream it also lags
Well, it performs as same as my AMD A4-3350B
Zwormz, I know you are not gonna answer thid comment, but my amd ryzen 5 5600g + rtx 3060 still stutters in minecraft just like THIS. How? Well, you are a very good youtuber and I have seen all of your epic videos.
Just an opinion You should have tried 4K High in Forza horizon 5 and Rdr2 just to check if there are stutters or not because the gpu utilization will also be neraly maxed out so I don't know the results tho...
Next time please do a vid about a i5 4590 with its igpu (hd 4600 graphics) also great vid Kryzzp!
Thank you bro for checking an i3 2120 and I have to upgrade it to i7 2600 and thank you again
You're welcome! Thanks for watching 😁
my i3 2120 is better some how with my gt 705
🤣
warzone was seconds per frame instead of frames per second
did you disable the spectre + meltdown patch ? it should give you extra performwance on that CPU ( for me it sometimes made a big differance )
EDIt ; for anyone wondering a GTX 650 1gb wa enough for this CPU with 8GB of DDR3 1333 mhz ram
I still have one HP 4530S with this one, and for normal use is pretty ok, bellow in 50% in web, office and youtube.
i like ur videos a much
Must be because of IPC increase as I remember playing GTA V flawlessly with G4560 + 970 SLI 5 years ago. Or the game has got more demanding.
im using the i3-2365M and its integrated Intel HD Graphics 3000 on a 10 years old ASUS Vivobook X202E
(4GB RAM and 265GB SSD)
Hey man, do core 2 core/quad for us dying breeds.
You were using gpu which is why the game performance was stable am I right? I have a 2nd Gen Intel core i3 2370m laptop that has 2gb ram and has no gpu. I can't even run the games that you showed here.
I have this cpu and it runs well on old games :D
I had one of these in 2011, was a great cou back then
I've been using this cpu for 10 years!
I used to have i3-2100 but it over heated and broke Then i used a i3-2120. Since that day I've never upgraded my pc, it runs unknowingly well for such an old pc, with its hd 2000 graphics it is still good for light gaming like minecraft etc! Thanks for reviewing this cpu!
I actually just tested Half-life 1 on an i3-2100 with integrated graphics and it would run 200-300 fps with the framerate unlocked, but as soon as I turned on my flashlight it dropped to 15-30 fps mind you I was playing in 640x480. Somehow playing Minecraft or doing any type of gaming on integrated graphics this old doesn't sound viable, especially when my test was on a game from 1998. I then installed a GT 710 and the issue went away so there you go.
I am writing on my i3 2100 rig, my main rig. I has not any issues. a few times shut down by using windows 10 video editors. I paired with gt 640 ddr3 2gb. I totally agree both of you.
@@TheHunt890 I don't know how, but i was using windows 7 for like 10 years and i was playing on mineshafter(basically a free java edition of Minecraft) and i got 50 fps of raw performance on java Minecraft with no optifine Or any other performance improving mod. No stuttering or anything. Whenever he says "welcome to the sunday video" Me be like what it's monday tomorrow 🥲 weeks passing by very much faster
True 🙃

25:54 In my case, if I had an i3, I would prefer to upgrade to a Xeon which is cheaper than the Sandy Bridge i7s, like a Xeon e3 1245 which should be enough..
I had this CPU in combination with GTS 430 and... I was playing Minecraft on 1280x1024 with maximum 40 FPS on...normal maps. And on flat maps, the situation was better, with 60-70 FPS in general.
You really deserve an Oscar by your thumbnail.
Thanks! Glad you like it 😁
Even when it came out, it still wasnt a good CPU for gaming. In 2011 you either gone 4-core i5 or Phenom II X4/X6 as budget option. Today we are previledged to have "gaming" CPUs as low as 80€, when back then and before Ryzen was a thing, the cheapest i5 at 170€ was the only good option.
This was memories with the 2nd gen i was 12 years old working as fuu to get the i7 2600k and a GTX570 i played BF3 this was amazing time my man…..
I think it's stupid that you can use a 1080 ti with 11gb on that really old motherboard/CPU combo but a Nvidia Tesla m40 with 12gb won't run on it cuz the board don't have "above 4g decoding" settings on it. But they basically have the same vram. I bet a 16gb Vega card will still work but Tesla won't. It's fustrating.
Earllyyyyy can I have one graphics card 🥺 please
This paired with an RTX 3090 Ti would be perfect.
true. You provide him with the 3090ti he will do the rest.
It’s a pity that you don’t have Xeon E5 components (For example, 2666V3) They came out in 2014, but are still relevant in games, I’m sitting on one myself, and the c2077 pulls for $ 25. AMD is jealous.
It's relative that you can recommend it or not, if you have no money like a lot of eastern european people, than it will do the job for you, you can still play recentish titles, especially story games. It's good for those who has about 100usd for a PC and want to play games even if they are laggy af. . I've been there, i know i was happy that my PC could run a game i didn't care how much fps i get if it ran on my pc. I played GTA 5 on a 512mb 8800 GT not gtx! XD
My encoding PC is rocking an i7 3770. Every time I see it I get kind of sad that I don't have the time or ideas to make any videos anymore. It hasn't seen use in a while.
