This is a fun jam packed winter vacation on a weekend in Sunriver and surrounding areas (Bend, Redmond, and Willamette Pass). We stayed at the cozy Sunriver Resort. They are amazing being a pet friendly hotel. After this trip we ended up coming back a few times because we have enjoyed it very much here. They have beautiful rooms with comfy beds, that come with a fireplace. Which is amazing to turn on when you had a long day in the snow.
We came on this trip for Alyssa to show Paul the mountain she grew up going to, to learn how to ski in her childhood. Willamette Pass is an amazingly priced, but it is a drive to get there. T That's why we stayed in Sunriver so we could have a closer drive getting there. The snow get super fluffy and powdery make sure to make it up there sooner then later in the day to get good runs in. It's a great family friendly ski place too.
This part wasn't planned for the next day, but on our way to lunch we spotted a cool little stop to feed a ton of alpacas. These alpaca were so cute and friendly. They had Amillia giggling the whole time and brought her much joy to her. If you have a person who loves animals they will really love this place. Also if you have a chance read into the owner and her journey. They are great people.
The final spot is a BBQ joint called Baldy's BBQ. We love to stop by when we are in the area. It's a great last stop before heading back.
