• Why do you think that God wants us to repeat ceremonies from the past to prepare us for the future?
• What does it say about God that he continued the manna until this point in time?
• God sometimes interrupts us in our pondering and planning. He sees how we are
trying to work things out in our own strength, and he interrupts us-sometimes quite dramatically.
Why do you think he used this level of drama?
• What does it say about God that He is neither “for” nor “against” our enemies?
• Why do we typically think that God wants us to fight the battles, and what resources
does He actually want to employ?
• Why do you think that God brings Joshua back to the same initiation experience
that he performed with Moses? What does that say about Him?
