Business down south is dry loads of drivers snapping up that basic rate. I have been trying to get work which comes in at short notice i.e cancellations. These are at a better rate but it's proper dash to the depot.
M quitting Amazon flex. 15 miles from home to station. already pay two tolls. They gave me 41 miles from station 23 stop 23 packages need to pay 3 to 4 tolls to reach drop location 11: 30 am to 3 pm 23 packages finish at 4 pm. 4. 30 back to home 45 + miles stuck in big traffic . Took more then 2:30 + to reach home. Get paid 63. Dollars. Toll took more then 15 dollars gas 15 dollars eat fast food 11 dollars I spend 31 dollars. Left 32 dollars. 32 divided Into seven hour. 4.57 dollars per hours. Hahahahaha.
£13 p/h... take it or leave it. I find the higher paid routes are further out from the station (DH/NE) and the lower paid routes are within the SR postal area. However. I've seen offers competing for the same time, same slot, but £20 difference. I've pulled into DNE2 given a 3.5h slot cage told the yard marshall I'm only on a 2hr slot and get bitched at. No checks or anything just assuming everyone on the same slot.
Yeah...it's only worth doing if you're picking up the higher rates (as far as I'm concerned anyway!) and that kind of thing with the 3.5 hour routes given to 2 hour slots is shocking - even more shocking that some folk just take it on the chin and go do it!
I do flex on the side.. I’ve been on the platform since 2017 I only did one block back when I first joined which was horrendous.. way too many parcels, the navigation was a mess and it was base rate.. since then I’ve learned key times to look and what kind of times give you the best routes and since then I’ve been picking up 2 hour blocks for £55+.. i did a 4 hour today for £88.50 which only took 2 and a half hours. Key tip is to check at around 7pm at night.. likelihood is there will be some returns from earlier in the day and you will get a full blocks pay just to deliver a few parcels, I did one last week that was 2 hours for £48 which had 6 parcels(8-10PM shift time but took way less time). I’m based in the south and work out of the Littlehampton depot and they seem to offer increased rate blocks a LOT. I think a lot of people around here just simply don’t take the base rate which is good. One thing I will say is that since my first block in 2017 the map / navigation has improved immensely
Hey Jack, yeah I would agree with everything you're saying here - I've been doing Flex for about four years now myself (on and off) but work up here in the frozen wastes of North East England really seems to have dried up at anything but basic rate pay. I'm not sure why, but people are gobbling those basic rates up pretty much as soon as they're released lately!
Leftover Venison baffles me as to why anyone would accept a base rate block, if you get a location that’s 15 miles away you’ve basically broken even for your time / fuel used 🤣 just keep your eyes peeled for those increased and hopefully some good ones will spring up for you mate
Hi mate. I've done a shift today, 3h for standard rate. It took me exactly 3h, but I've finished 1h away from home. When done my calculations, I've earned magic £4 per hour. Plus I've checked my records - very similar shift in November, same area -3.5h and about £20 more. That's a joke, not touching this again for this money.
Proper p*sstake that like, it just really isn't even worth bothering at all at the minute as far as I'm concerned. Hope you're keeping well other than getting shafted by Bezos mate :D
*Thanks for tuning in. How's it going in your neck of the woods?*

Seems like it's a similar picture all over the place sadly mate
Which depot are you working out of if you don’t mind me asking?

@@GuitarJack97 I work from any North East England Logistics depot and Team Valley for Prime Now (I don't really do Morrison's).

Oh yeah, and the app has come on leaps and bounds as you say.

They should be paying minimum £15/hr
Completely agree
