Yes my voluptuous fellow I do love a good working for thy basic rates. We shall meet for a rather milky cup of tea one day and some delicious crumpets.
This is my first flex block in weeks. I just don’t take normal rate blocks anymore, despite they are snatched by others fairly quickly still--which puzzles me. If there aren’t increased rate then I rather stay in
That's disgraceful really - I very rarely do Morrison's and filter them out so I hadn't even seen that. Surely that's not worth doing at £28, never mind £27 👎
No I don't do at base rate. Only take surge rate at absolute minimum of £15 per hour. Unfortunately after doing Amazon for four and a half years, likely now that I will move on as just not worth it anymore.
@@jonathanbower6980 That sounds just like me to be honest mate, I've been doing it here and there since 2018 but I feel the exact same as that - it's totally not worth it the way it is at present.
Yeah it's no good mate. I haven't delivered for months now - just not worth the bother sadly - which is a shame because I really enjoyed getting out and earning a few extra quid doing this job - but no way am I working for the slave wages on offer when I'm paying £1.80+ per litre of diesel. No thanks.
There is an interesting contradiction after fuel price rises, the amazon flex prices went down recently. I believe there is demand decrease for the goods but as you mentioned in the video , there should be a reasonable reaction from drivers. I try to figure why they accept these block prices.
You need to be looking at least £0.45p a mile running costs which does not include vehicle depreciation of which devalues your vehicle much quicker when racking up high mileage. So say for example you work for Amazon flex for 3 years, over that time period you will have not been earning enough to put money away to purchase a replacement vehicle. I would essentially say in reality you would be working at a loss.
I'm from South Shields and have stopped doing logistics all together befusse the logistics routes have just become so bad in my experience anyways. unless its £70+ which on holidays it can sometimes get up too that much I don't go near them, the past few weeks I have been getting £42 Morrisons 2 hr blocks and have been doing them however the past week the £30 base rate for Morrisons has been flying off the app and like you I just don't understand why people are doing it, so annoying seeing base rates being taken, the only thing I can think is that these people have a rich hubby/wife and are bored, or have 0 expenses
Yeah mate it's bizarre isn't it, I just don't get why or how people are doing it at the basic rate?? I haven't done any flex now for about 3 months - just doesn't seem worth bothering (hence lack of any new content for a little while). Shame really because I used to enjoy but when I'm paying £1.80 for litre of diesel it's just not worth bothering at the basic rate and I've got better things to do with my time than sit and swipe all day hoping for increased rates haha...I'm sure you have too! Anyway, maybe things will get better soon eh? :)
*Do you work for the basic rate?*

Nothing less than 20 an hour

Yeah, that's pretty much my outlook as well
Who do you think are snapping them up ,give you a clue they eat nuts.
I’m in the US and the same thing is happening. I try to accept only surged blocks if I can’t then I won’t flex that day.
Base rates for some Morrisons have actually been reduced by £1 for a 2 hour block. So £27 instead of £28 at many locations.

In Glasgow to do Morrisons orders you need drive more than 50 miles for each block and only £26 for block

How much is your courier car insurance a week?

the problem with this whole idea is it won't work unless people pay for delivery. with inflation, this business idea may collapse completely.
if you do this in nyc you'd end up paying more than what you get back from amazon (in other words you have to pay to deliver for them)
Back to Amazon warehouse Amazon flex rates are absolutely absurd
hi my firend do you have a video how to rgister for self employed for amazon flex who are doing only part time.
Hi there, yeah I've got a full video on registering for self assessment mate
agree. thats why I only take higher rate jobs.
Naah, not touching it for standard rate. Jeff Bezos is rich enough IMHO
you've got that right mate
I will use amazon flex will work well with my other business.
You have covid-1984
