  • Hey there, fellow beekeeping enthusiasts! 🐝 It's a sweltering September day, and we've got some bee action that'll leave you scratching your head. In the 90-degree heat, the bees decided to throw a mid-air party behind the shop, circling branches like they're in the middle of a bee storm. But here's the kicker - they just hung out there for a while before making their way back to the long hive. What's the buzz, you ask? Well, your guess is as good as ours! No queen-making agenda, no obvious signs of trouble - just bees being bees.
As we wandered around the shop, we caught them checking out a few branches, only to return to their long hive rendezvous. It's like the queen took them on a mystery flight, and they all played along. We might never fully understand their secrets, but one thing's for sure - these bees know how to keep us guessing. Thanks for tuning in to this puzzling bee adventure. Stay tuned for more captivating beekeeping moments! 🐝 #BeeMystery #LongHiveSecrets #BeekeepingEnigma #RTBBF

I’ll never figure them out. It seems like you try to give them the greatest home and next thing you know their building a hive in a tire. Love what you do and god bless.♥️👍🏼🙏

The book i have is different the the book they go by, wish i had a copy of the one they are reading. With that being said, i got almost 40 lbs out of one topbar hive. Love my topbar hives

You know, I saw that this weekend and thought they were getting robbed out.....but it is my strongest, most aggressive hive. A few minutes later and they were back to normal. It was a holiday weekend here in Israel so my best guess is they found something (soda, fruit juice, etc) left over from a picnic and were all coming home after the source was exhausted. That or they robbed out a hive down the road. They always seem to do it in the afternoon, right before it cools down for the day.

Hi how do you go about stopping them from swarming with that type of box? I understand you can open areas going sideways. What do you do when you run out of area? Wait for swarm cells and manually move them to a new box??? Curious how you avoid swarms with this set up - thanks Jen
