I personally think that Magellan's positioning caused him this battle and his life. Remember that when coming from the waters and approaching land is already hard enough, now think about doing the same while wearing armor and carrying equipment. And Lapu Lapu has a strong position because he's in land, and I personally believed that he properly positioned his infantry and ranged units. Rather than engaging directly, coming from your ship to land, he should have found some land to settle in, encamped there, then engaged in daytime. Now, I don't think that the Filipino army is "stupid" and "barbaric" who just charge in like maniacs. I personally believe they have battle formations. It's when Magellan was struck that they broke formation and charged at him.
Coming from Figafetta i cant believe that Magellan only brought 60 soldiers without backup from Humabon and the 1500 warriors of Lapu Lapu is exaggerated...maybe 300...

i love how the video has hardcoded tagalog subtitles. Just to let you know, everyone speaks english in philippines so its fine without subtitles because you probably paid someone to do those subtitles for you.
True! I was so focused on the subtitle trying to read and understand some of the "ancient" words 😆 I had never used or heard of in my life.
It's ok that I will use the Subtitle for my school project?... Thank u...
sorry for late reply, but yes, please feel free...
Wow I really love how the story was told and animated. I suggest also to do Gregorio del Pilar's battle story in Tirad Pass! 💖
This is the spanish empire and old Philippines?

It's history stories like these makes me truly proud of my Filipino heritage :)
I wonder how they communicated in that time
BTW, can the next story be about "Lakan dula and Raha sulayman" from manila?
Bro it was 70 Spaniards against 1500 Philippine barbarians
@Dumbodumdum I’m cuban
@Dumbodumdum if I was is there anything wrong with it
2:50 why would I cut the seen c'mon put it in the end😤
Coming from Figafetta i cant believe that Magellan only brought 60 soldiers without backup from Humabon and the 1500 warriors of Lapu Lapu is exaggerated...maybe 300...
The rest hid in ambush, maybe the spaniards only saw the sentry huts and lookout towers and assumed that the island only has a small population
The video is well put together
Grabe ang lupit ng warrior ng pilipinas.
Pano mas madami pang namatay saatin kaysa sa mga espanyol
This is a master piece👌
Wow, that a very BIG compliment... Thank you
Kadaugan = Victory
Gubat = Battle
*for context*
was magellan eaten by lapu-lapu? isnt there some kind of belief that eating your opponent somehow transfers the power to the victor. just not sure which culture in asia pacific.
Dude, the region was filled with headhunters, not cannibals...the ones you're referring to are in sabah, indonesia, papua new guinea
All hail Lapu-Lapu!
@Polina Yeah, I will never forget the abuse, oppression, violence, rape, injustice, and discrimination experienced by my ancestors from Spaniards like you. Spaniards are the worst, especially the Japanese and Americans who came here to colonize us for our resources.
The animation is cool 😍
I am so proud that I am a Filipino. That I carry in my veins the blood that fought for mactan. This animation made me feel like I was there at the battle and witnessing everything that's happening. My heart is full of Joy. I am proud being a Filipino.
Godbless you everyone!

This is so amazing to watch.
Lapu Lapu didn't kill Magellan. He was just there watching. The number of Magellan's men were so small compared to lapu lapu's men.
some said he was to old to fight
No, there were a hundred thousand europeans along with a hundred boats with cannones againts 10 thousand natives, lapu lapu did a heroic charge his army managed to dodged cannons and bullets while simultaneosly headshotting magellans officers with his bow. Finally he reached magellan but he was outnumbered so he dual wielded his sword along with a poisoned arrow tearing through armored soldiers, magellan got scared so he tried to run away but he drowned instead cause he didnt remove his armor and was to scared to face lapu lapu.

Somesay datu lapu-lapu didnt apear on the battle because he is 70+ yr old and maggelan is shot by an poisonous arrow on his neck
Lapu-Lapu was the Tausug Datu named Kali Pulacan, a Muslim King of the Sultanate of Jolo.Magellan got tired on shore, was shot on the left leg by a poison arrow, then he was speared to death.The beheaded by Datu Kali!
Napaganda Po ng animation niyo😀

“Give me 10K thousand Filipinos and I shall conquer the world!” General MacArthur
they just under estmated lapu lapu .. they rely on their technology even they know they just outnumbered ..they think they can rattle those tribesmen with the cannon the didnt even know gun powdered is firstly invented in china which is native filipino trading partners and lapulapu has that true courage fighting just blade and wooden shield .
5:37 no lapu lapu kill him with his sword not with poison arrow
@@kurtchua7897 lmao lapu lapu killed magellan
@@kurtchua7897 Chief Lapulapu, who, on April 27, 1521, killed the Portuguese navigator and explorer Ferdinand Magellan
There is no accurate telling of what killed Magellan, most historians will say the arrow killed him. Many people do attribute Magellan's death to Lapu-Lapu since he is the one who lead his army.
@@xander6525 Lapu lapu didn't kill magellan your attempt at making such an awful joke has failed since it's obvious that you are joking
