- Arjun Erigaisi is having one of the toughest tournaments of his chess career at the Tata Steel Chess 2025. He was on 1.5/6 before this round and was facing the second last seed of the event Max Warmerdam. Check out the battle where Arjun tries to go all out against Warmerdam's king but the Dutch GM finds all the best moves and completely outplays his esteemed opponent.

We all know he is a class player. A few bad games and a rough tournament won’t make him a bad player. Haters are going to hate.

Max really played very well . he defended excellently and did not fall for any of Arjun's traps . Arjun's loss of form and confidence is a cause for concern . he still has to face Gukesh and Nordirbek . Wei Yi is no lightweight either.

Can't believe what's happening with Arjun with so much high rating and he is at the bottom. one or two much lose we can expect but the tournament is not going well for him, it's something mental pressure which he is carrying, hoping for his comeback

The truth is that arjun is not 2800 and deserves an lower rating, when magnus and hikaru who are above 2800 classical play 2650s like warmerdam, they may include an little sideline to take them out of book but arjun playing qf6 and g5 is just crazy, when magnus and hikaru plays against these 2600s they play their best the whole game and dont take many risks, if you get a draw deal with it you only lose like 4 points.

I don't think it's nonsense at all. Arjun tried a line he'd obviously prepared, but his opponent outplayed him at every turn. It was a brilliant game, and very instructive also.
