I've never done herringbone lvt and always wondered how you start it. I find using the concave blades (not the hook blades) better to cut lvt, the blade doesn't wander about the same as a standard Stanley blade.
If you cut the board on top of a another surface other than concrete, you will save your blades. Try turning over another piece and cutting on top of that, while controlling your knife more as you finish the cut

I've only ever fitted the Howdens herringbone, there's isn't handed which simplifies things a bit

Well how about just using your LVP cutter allot faster. And if you’re going to use you’re knife how about a straight edge
