abigail was probably the scariest movie i’ve seen this year because i somehow gave myself the idea that nic cage from renfield might be dracula and i could not breathe properly until dracula showed up
He was the second Body Snatchers guy. It was a remake. The original was the guy who gets flattened on Donald's windscreen at the 27:00 mark of the movie.

Steven King HAS done more than one possessed car movie - as well as "Christine", he wrote (and Directed) "Maximum Overdrive" and co-wrote "Trucks". I'm sure they're both classics of the genre.

The thing I love about that Ki-Adi-Mundi "controversy" is that the ONE character trait he has in the movies is that he's constantly confidently wrong. Then he shows up briefly being wrong in this show and people are like "HE WAS A YOUNG SAGE AND MY FAVORITE CHARACTER HOW DARE THEY!"
Honestly the show has its issues, but as always, THOSE Star Wars fans are complaining about the most irrelevant stuff nobody who has gone outside once cares about

Important to mention that Ki-Adi Mundi’s birthday isn’t even Canon, it’s in Legends which all got retconned a decade ago, so it’s a hullabaloo over quite literally nothing.
It wasn't even cannon in legends, the sorce was a single source book for a game or something
and it makes absolute sense that the arrogance of the jedi convinces themselves that whatever the threat is in the acolyte, is NOT true sith. they couldn't sense palpatine as a threat when he was literally right in front of them, so why would they perceive anything less as a threat?
@StreamingSunrise to be fair the jedi thought they were gone for nearly 1000 years at that point, the sith learned how to hide themselves well with ways of making themselves almost impossible to sense
It’s so frustrating how people cling to this, when there are much more egregious things in this show that are just awful, like pacing and such.
It was canon because it was on official trading cards but that's not even the biggest problem with his appearance, he's THE JEDI on the council that says the Sith haven't been in a thousand years in Episode 1. Unless everyone dies and he's dumb enough to never find out, his appearance makes no sense.
Also, stop straw manning, this show is an abomination on every level, Star Wars fans are just the first to sound the alarms because this show flagrantly spits on lore and canon.

Big Horror fan here and here's a few off the top of my head.
The Table, The First Omen, Hereditary, Malignant, Midsommar, The Witch, Carrie (Both), The Omen (Both), The Invitation, The Platform, Knock At The Cabin, Prisoners, Dog Bites Man ,Green Room, X, Pearl, Barbarian , Jacob's Ladder,The Killing (Series), Happy Death Day (Both), The Curse (Series), Creep (Both), The Ritual, Threads, The VHS franchise is incredible and Inside No Nine is a must watch for everyone.
I also recommend the time travel heavy suspense Primer. It's a fucking whirlwind.
There no words to express how little I care about people's opinions on Star Wars at this point.

@@mike9512 the truth is a lot more malicious than you guys are framing it. It's economically viable for them to cater to certain groups. What's worse is that they're not even representing these groups well, just enough to appear so, but also not enough so that they can easily edit it out for China. It's phaux progressivism and honestly kind of evil. Making money of off people while pretending to care.

Greetings James and Maso. I have a movie suggestion for the two of you, even though I’m fairly certain that you won’t cover it here on the show. 😁Given the film’s “hook” however, I feel like it’s a bit of media that would fit squarely inside of your wheelhouse and I’m certain neither of you have seen it before.
In 2017, an indie film called Kill Switch was released starring Dan Stevens in a very…familiar roll. The movie is about Will Porter (Stevans), a normal scientist who helps the government develop an unlimited energy source by pulling it from what were THOUGHT to be uninhabited alternate universes via a massive skyscraper-like spire, only to find that’s not the case. So, in order to save both worlds from the perpetually running device, Porter must become an unwitting hero and travel to the alternate world to stop the device from the other end.
Now, if all of this sounds a bit like Black Mesa, City 17 and Gordan Freeman…that’s because it’s almost EXACTLY that. In point-of-fact, when Dr Porter goes to the alt dimension, he’s given a high-tech suit to assist with the transition and whenever the plot focuses on his time there, it’s done completely in (really good) first person perspective with a full-on HUD.
Even the soldiers Porter fights are reminiscent of the Combine.
Seriously, if you guys want to see an indie film that has a lower budget used pretty well that’s basically a VERY competent unofficial Half Life fan film, you should genuinely give it a gander. I fell like if you do, you’ll want to talk about it on the show.
It can be legally streamed right now on Hulu, STARZ and UA-cam if you want to rent it for a few bucks. It’s a movie that I think deserves a bit of spotlight…

yea imagine if something like that would have dropped in a disney star wars movie. You would never hear the end of it. But its from an era where its was "MY star wars" so its fine.
I think we all knew Muscietti wouldn't stay for Brave and the Bold, Gunn only named him as the director to try and save the man's career after the atomic bomb known as the Flash. He didn't deserve the job and he's not a good fit or even qualified for it, its best to just move on quietly and announce a new director after Superman comes out.
I don't know how well versed James & Maso are on film scores, but I'd love to see them do a series about different film composers. I imagine James would want to do one with John Murphy, then we go Elfman, Zimmer, Shore, Williams, Silvestri, Horner, maybe McCreary... it'd be a romp!
If you guys have a slow week for new movies then I'd recommend the Alan J Pakula 1970s 'Paranoia trilogy', 'Klute,' 'The Parallax View,' and 'All the President's Men'.

So, I just wanna fact check something James said about the Ki Adi Mundi situation: he said it was a birthday given in *Legends* continuity, and therefore *not* Canon. Is that correct, or did he mispeak? Because, if he is correct, and Star Wars fans are pissy about a show that’s not even in continuity with Legends, my amused indifference is going to turn to a white hot frothing anger *so* fucking quickly.
You should watch First Omen! Very artful cinematography interspersed with random Marvel-esque foreshadowing for the original movie. Good contender for The Game Is On award.

You guys should check out this cool horror film that didn’t get the praise it deserves. It’s about a man with lucious lips that can’t be contained. They are so large and plump that every mask he puts on are warped into a big kissy face. His brother (or maybe a cousin or just a guy who likes to wear opposite colours to our big duck lipped protagonist) kills their father figure. That forces the lippy lad to put a snake into his eyes and never use his lips for speaking, only sassy pouting. If that sounds too confusing it’s because it’s pretty complex, but don’t be scared, this one is the origin film and they will walk you through it.
Snyder's entire film career feels like it might have been a big con 😅

I feel like this is a safe space to air my grievence about the Ki-Adi-Mundi thing. Im not mad about his age and the whole saying it breaks cannon thing is such BS considering the source people are pulling from says KAMs weapon of choice is a PURPLE LIGHTSABER!?! the literal next movie he appears in breaks cannon if thats the case, so stupid. im just upset that this show that takes place in the past needed to fucking shove him in the show for no reason cause he does nothing in the episode so hes literally just there for fan service which blew up in Disneys face because the grifter side of the fan base is mad about the wrong thing. They love seeing a guy they know show up on screen so they can do the Leo Dicaprio meme and jizz in their pants.

re Ki-Adi-Mundi : we dont know how this series will end, will the whole incident be covered up ? Is "the maste"r even a sith or just a force user like a witch? We do not know at this point. the jedi who confront the "master" have never seen or encountered a sith before. One even asks, "what is that?" that is, nowhere in the series, up to this point, has anyone hypothesized or guessed that mae was a sith acolyte or being trained by a sith. we, the viewers, have just assumed/posited that. This is all to say that there is nothing inconsistent with Mundi's prequel statement regarding the extinction of the sith at this point--i,e. as of ep. 4.
