The change from jig to reel, 6/8 into 4/4 time, that’s a huge lift - uniquely seen in Irish trad and maybe aiming into Scottish as well now. Serious musicianship
Ye it’s good, but honestly , I love cathal on banjo, but I think Frankie and mairtain are the perfect combination, at this type of tunes, and to me will or can never get better, probably the best duo on trad I’ve ever heard,, u go back to de dannan 40 year ago recording and it would still blow away anything at ease, 👏👏👏

As always..The Mairtin O'Connor Band, unequalled, sooo brilliant.
The best of the older musicians never lost it
Oh my goodness! Absolutely divine.
So basically some of the best irish folk musicians?
@Electricary
I know Mairtin, that's why I called him one of “the best“, because his music is incredible
basically yes
@@msikio Nice.
@@BrainFPatterson actually a whole lot more, Seamie plays most everything.
Had the pleasure to work with him on a music project this past couple years.
A master at his craft and humble and nice, too.
Simply wonderful!
