This is the ultimate in tenor banjo,,, it has everything,, pushes, beautifull scales , perfect triplets,,, and most of all so driving,,, a defo genius,,, of course not forgetting seamus ,,, brilliant guitarist,,, 2 worthy masters on the tunes,,, it won’t be beaten,,, 👏👏👏
Hi Cathal, recently bought a new Clareen Special, as I'm learning to play Tenor Banjo, & I think your playing is superb. You've certainly given me something to aim for. Seamie is red hot on the six string too. Cheers, Paul Lucas. ( Cardiff)
I've noticed something odd amongst guitarists accompanying traditional Irish music in the past decade. They are vaguely guessing the key of the tune and access hit the correct chord but they're not worried about getting it right.
They're both brilliant. I've tried copying the guitar rhythm. I'm no beginner but I can't sus out what he's doing at all . It sounds straight forward, but far from it
There's only one guitar player on this recording. The guy off to the right, Paul McSherry, is waiting to go on with the next group. Bass could be brought up a notch on Seamie's guitar, though.

Seamie the guitarist here is a pro fiddler, pro guitarist whom plays these tunes on both instruments and I've seen him doing them on banjo too,☘️👍
WTF CLASS
same heymaurice
Does anyone know if the reel has another name besides "McGinley's"? I can't find any notation for it under that name.
Heathery Cruach
Can anyone tell me where to put my fingers for the two double stops at 14 seconds
Colum Hickey I think it’s a G chord followed by a D chord on the bottom 2 strings.
yeah,
Two of the greatest

He's almost certainly playing in a non-standard tuning (possibly DADGAD) and in 6/8 not 4/4.
@@applemanuk tuned to E flat, basically a capo on the first fret if you want to stay in the standard tuning
Down up down down up down strumming pattern and sounds like it’s in DADGBE tuning (Drop D) tuning
What key is the first tune in??
K: Dmaj
Embed the Banjo deeper between the Guitars. Good play, but sound could be better. Sorry for that.
