Try Mesh sand paper its prefect

I need to find that on Amazon. Does the mesh destroy the hook and loop of the pad? On Festool sanders they have a protector for mesh type paper. Not sure it that will affect Dewalt"s drywall sander.

Whoever makes the other pad needs to make some sandpaper to match!!
You need a backing pad for the mesh type otherwise it wears out the hook and loop but they don’t make them in 225mm!

Dewalt makes it. It would be nice if they continued to expand the support for tools like this one.

We need an aftermarket company to pick up the dropped ball. Lol.

Does it make any difference on suction than original pad?

There is some improvement with the combination of the type of sandpaper I purchased and using the Flexvolt dust extractor. The hardback has more ventilation openings; however, no sandpaper correctly lines up with the holes, limiting the effectiveness. There is a yellow-colored sandpaper on Amazon with smaller holes that may be an improvement over my current setup, but I have not had a project recently that I needed to use it on to warrant the purchase. There may also be an improvement if I use a corded dust extractor. I may revisit this in the future.

@@daddysharespace I did a pop corn ceiling removal today, for this job I purchased a hard pad , 80 grit DeWalt mesh disk, to improve suction I run green tape around dust shred couple times to seal off the edges . On DeWalt 60v flexvolt vacuum there's very little dust escape when sanding compare with soft pad and paper disk I used before, but when stop sanding some dust drop out from standing pad to floor, that means dust not all sucked out, I put my hand on vacuum hose the suction not that's strong at all, switch to big ridged vacuum with dust seperator, much stronger suction on hose end, hook up to sander and yes this set up has no dust escaping at All, and I can actually feel the pad was sucked on ceiling at some point. after finishing sanding the room, there's No dust on floor except some pop corn pieces that bumped off by dust shred, and there's no dust left under sanding pad either.
PS. I also did a second pass with 150grit paper disk with 8 holes to smooth out, I carefully line up these holes with openning on pad, again no dust escaping.

Nice. The I am not surprised regarding the Flexvolt dust extractor. I the idea is better than the execution.

Acme tools or tool nut. I believe you have to wait 14 -30 days with tool nut.
