It’s ridiculous how fast they get stuff done out there!
Ship 26 really seems to be one of the most useful ground test articles in the orbital program.
I don't think ship 26 is a ground test article. I think it is either 1) an HL system test article - perhaps going to get some super-draco thrusters in the upper section installed, or 2) slated for orbital launch for fuel transfer demo flight (OFT 8 & 9?) with no intention of controlled reentry.
@@kingwr12 It is literally only used for all kinds of engine, ground, structure, and infrastructure testing. Furthermore, its design cannot be retrofitted to be used for any fuel transfer demo, as these are already known to be using reusable ships, which Ship 26 is not.
Great videos Mary, Sean, Jack, & NSF,Thank you. Thank you NSF for a great Starbase Update!!!
Awesome job, guys! We've never gotten this far. 😎😎😎
So much progress. Even compared to 6 months ago.
Absolutely. And much of the SpaceX progress is to have SpaceX progress occur much faster.
It looks like SpaceX needs a bigger paint roller.
Ship 26's ultimate fate?
@@MrGoesBoom lol
Surrealistic movie. Good luck! Awaiting for your success, SpaceX!
Great shots as always!🎉
nice update
Wow! Love seeing all the work being done. Like ants.
Thanks NSF team, great update.
Painting the launch table means the bulk of maintenance is done.
Thank You very well, great stream
Ship30 looks Pro. Great Cover. Thanks
We are close,he has a great sense of humor
keep improving!!
Just Dandy cutting torches...
Dandy!
I get why steel prefab structures are nice though painting them black too is probably going make the summer months more unpleasant than otherwise given how smoldering hot it can get.
I may say that the star factory will get painted black
Is it standard practice in Texas to build a multistory office block mainly with precast concrete and also multi level parking with mainly steel fabrications supposedly it will have precast concrete walls/floors 😂. It's fast track construction but is it standard practice in the state
the precast concrete is the parking garage, the office building is steel. You got it backwards there. Dunno state by state, but pretty sure precast ( prestressed? ) concrete for parking garages is pretty standard
@@MrGoesBoom Yeah that parking garage makes me nervous they way its done. Hopefully no earthquakes come through the area. It looks like a stack of cards and is done exactly how every 4 year old learned you never make a lego wall...
So, static fire with S26 or just a fitment test?
I think the former. She was on the engine bay before going onto the fire stand, i didnt see them take her engines off in that time, unless i missed it. I feel like they were checking if they look in order before a use.
I still dont understand why SpaceX repaint the OLM after every launch. its just going to be ruined by the next static fire or launch, and its not like the paint is neccesary for the OLM to function
To keep rust away as much as they can. It also helps to make it look better on images during lift-off.
This is working as ablative shielding. Meaning it gets blasted off but it protects against the bulk of the oxidation during a launch. Without it, the steel would wear away much faster. A long term solution is a good goal, but for now, this is cheap and works.
Personally, I'd like to see Starship heat tiles on it!
And understand they would get thrown miles away! Maybe more robust ones. lol
Corrosion is a serious problem and paint helps with that. Probably other good reasons as well, though can't think of them off the top of my head. Very much doubt it's about aesthetics
Kind of weird they would have ship 30's tank wide open right next to all that earth moving with the dust and everything.
Thats just the payload bay, not the tank. So no worries :)
@@Vatsyayana87 And once it gets into space, it will become stardust. 😉
Hello to all the teams, thank you for this summary. 😉👋👌
When I reach 1 billion subscribers, I will go to the moon with them.
In the 70s I thought being an astronaut was a possibility, but I was blessed with one good eye but not good enough for space. Now I can see that God has much more to show humans. Thank God in Jesus name.
Boo
👀🐔👀🐔 SpaceX goes thru concrete so much they should build their own concrete plant. Then tear it down, and build another one.😁
