Hi! Mr Lee, I have recently watched your videos. I truly appreciate all your videos. Thumbs up for taking the effort to explore the background history of the places you visited and revealed the great contribution of the Chinese in the early days. Otherwise the great histories will be swept under the carpet. Tqvm.🌹🌷🌺
Hi Elmo, I just want to understand the exact location of Peyton Place pub in SS2 Square. Friends told me it was on the opposite end of Sun Hing Loong, same row as the Police Station. I can't remember well since I first came to Peyton Place in 1981/82 when I was in my teens. Also, the Orient Express in DJ is in its fourth location since it started and I remember it was located next to Swensen's Ice Cream and then over to Eden Restaurant block.
SS2, a lot of sweet memories to reminisce about, a girlfriend for more than six years but without a happy ending; well educated neighborhood and perhaps plentiful supply of good food. Time flies.
Thank you Mr. Lee! My husband and I met in SS2 twenty over years ago and we lived in SS2 for about 10 years. Even though we moved to other area, we still bring our kids back to SS2 once in a while. 😁
Good job on this SS2 episode. All the food tasting from this episode looks super delicious and attractive. Surely the kopitiam is a one stop center where most ( if not all ) classical dishes are served. Yatt Lau !!! Mou Tak Deng !!! 👌🏽👌🏽👌🏽. Flashback on yesteryear’s where prices of beer 🍺 as compared to nowadays is many folds expensive ! However - Elmo’s last dish eaten (ikan pari Bakar)surely must be accompanied with a glass of chilled beer. That will be perfect to end the day 👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽
Hi Elmo! Excellent episode as usual. Hope there are no more haters. If any, just ignore them and pity them. These haters have no love in life. Haters gonna hate. This is not as easy as many thinks, but I really hope you enjoy yourself doing this. I can only share words with you. Wishing you great health and many more years of eating good food 😊 Hope you will keep on going.
Mr. Elmo, I have watched your numerous videos. I am sure you know Rawang. I saw that u made a video about Rawang Cantonese food previously. That place was in Rawang town. Recently, the booming place in Rawang is in Emerald Rawang, which is located next to Anggun Rawang, just located beside AEON Anggun. There is a flea market located beside Emerald Rawang Sales Gallery. Come and visit it on the 5/08/2023 and 6/08/2023 from 5pm to 9pm.
Mr Lee look younger than his age. Chicken rice. fried kway teow. wonton noodles. and fishball noodles. are the main delicacies in kopitiam. satay and grilled fish are relatively rare. Thank U for sharing. 🙏 🇲🇾 🤝 🇸🇬 👍.
I've been eating in this kopitiam since 1990. Back then it was almost my everyday chap fan place as my college is just a few block away. I still go for their curry mee and recently tried their siu chow..I would it's above average . The CKT nothing come close to 1 of my favourite from Sisters Place in TTDI.
The thing I remember most about SS2, sure is the food but also snooker centres and video game parlours when I was young. I mean we used to cycle all the way from ttdi to ss2 just to play the latest video games then.
Been there about 3 times in the last few months. I remember when I was working with Hong Leong Finance, on that same row many years ago, that corner coffeeshop back then was very dirty, so I avoid eating there. But when I went back there a few months ago I noticed they have renovated and looks clean and nice now. The 3 times I've been there, the 1st time was at night and that guy in your video was serving the Chicken Rendang Nasi Lemak and I've to agree, it taste really good. So the next 2 times that I'm there I always eat the Nasi Lemak only. But the last time I was there during lunch time, the Rendang Chicken in the Nasi Lemak taste hard and stale. I told the girl (I think she is Filipino) but she seemed annoyed instead of taking my feedback constructively. Anyway next time I go down there, I'll try the chow kway teow and the others you recommend, they all look good
Hi Elmo.. SHL is the kopitiam i have always visited ever since i came to KL way back in the mid 90s . The owner came into limelight once when he was charged and paid the fine for hiring foreign workers without permit. There was an old staff who walks around the shop without buttoning his shirt and his face has some sort of a skin conditioning . I think when he retired you can still see him coming to the shop and smoking . Think he has since passed ... RIP. This place has a lot of good food back then . Most of yr recommendation is spot on as they have maintain the quality over the years .. but unfortunately i cannot agree with you on the char kuey teow as the quality has dropped tremendously . I have given him a few chances but each time when he fries the kuey teow is very tasteless very dissappointed, once i think his daughter also came to manage the stall , sadly tehre is no difference. I think i will go again to try the siew chow since its new .. Thank you for the recommendation
@@samdong7269 Hock Seng Restoran. It was famous for claypot yeemee, nyonya kuih stall. Even Homi Kari puff started from there. Also the wantan mee and fish head noodles were good.
This is one kopitiam where I don't like to patronize. Again, my own personal bias only. To me, I felt their pricing are way more expensive vs other kopitiams (talking about beverages only), that was before COVID. As such, since i already have this opinion about them, I don't really like to eat there.
Elmo, I would suggest not to rate everything is good. Have some difference in the rating. Everything also good, how to decide? Suggest to rate based on number of stars. If everything is good, no meaning for your review. You are just advertising. Don't need review lah. Hope to see some changes soon.
SHL teh peng before mco very nice, after mco i think the staff changed and the drink become bad, only 死甜taste. The curry mee not bad, the rest is so so. Chakueyteow also so so but still acceptable.

Peyton place is at the row of shops on the police station side. Orient express is still there, just few shops away from the old Swensons
Nasi Lemak控,千万别走宝!

Everything is good... 😅
👍👍👍
This side of SS2(non chowyang) only has one kopitiam. Why so few? 😮
That's coz I just want to feature tis kopitiam
Others one by one tutup over the years...and this area rental no cheaps
As far as I remembered, there were 2 more many years ago. Behind SHL and another opposite HL Bank
There used to be a top kopitiam behind SHL but the owner sold off the building for millions

There used to be another kopitiam behind, Hup Seng Two. I felt that kopitiam is much better. Just personal opinion
In case u didn't know they sold the shoplot for 19 mil
@@malaysiafood328 wow! That is hard to believe 😂 seems way too high and above market rate, especially when it was also many many years ago
Overall, this kopitiam food quality averagely is lower than the others kopitiam within this area i must said .just their location is pretty good
