I grew up in Sea Park, this place is nostalgic and memories are vivid. Ruby theatre was very much a part of my childhood remember once after midnight show and I walked home with my dad and got chase by stray dogs lol😅 MJ Wang… way back then the coffee shop was such a hit! Sister’s curry laksa was there and a fruit stall right in front. And in the evening there was this Chinese restaurant style stall on the outside. Their food was really good. Not sure if you remember the tong sui stall and kampar fish ball stall at the corner coffee shop used to have this lady that sells asam laksa and Siamese laksa! That aunty’s Siamese laksa and kampar fish ball noodle was my favourite noodle stall. Too many good eats in a rather small area 😅 your video brought back a lot of memories thank you for sharing this video uncle Elmo. ❤
i am very familiar with Sea Park. Have lived there since the 80's, the morning mkt back then was very lively and food choices aplenty. Quality was good too 🙂and the snooker centre in Sea Park mkt used to be Emporium supermarket 😂. Speaking of Victoria, they were reduced to a tiny shop with tee shirts and CDs back in 2019 in Sg Wang. Times have changed... and oh yeah, the good old Ruby theatre... so many great memories
Each of us living in that era will have our own "memorabilia" ranging from cassettes, VHS tapes, DVDs, VCDs, vinyls and etc etc. Those were good days indeed. In this episode - it was interesting to have a coffee shop having so many good and tasty stalls after being vet by the shop owner on the choices and taste of their food. Interesting vegetarian stalls to "Sam Kan Cheong" noodle classic "only in Klang" area available are all favorites. Great to see youngsters taking over the "wok"and preparing great food and continued to be enjoyed by the people at SEA park. I would reiterate that it is again a Yatt Lau & Mou Tak Deng food haunting episode to add to series. Thank you Elmo. 🤏🤏🤏
Used to work in Hong Leong Finance in SS2 back in 1997 to about 1999 seconded from HQ in KL. Sadly never ate at this place, only the one in Paramount Garden, must try this place one of these days. Love your reviews, keep doing them! Bro I live in USJ, maybe someday can join you for makan session LOL
Thank you for showcasing my hometown, SEA Park !! but your title is misleading lah .. this is only best of MJ Wang koptiam ... still got many more! love the history parts .. brings back many good memories
Thanks for supporting, in my previous episodes I already featured all the known eateries there therefore featuring one kopitiam for tis series is the obvious thing to do
It was called Tong Foong restaurant many years ago. In the 80s, it housed a beef noodle stall which was one of the best in Klang Valley then, ran by 2 sisters. They sold the recipe and stall to a new owner who ran the stall subsequently. But I don’t think they are there anymore. That restaurant used to sell nice coffee and the owner of the building ran a vegetarian restaurant on the first floor.
@@malaysiafood328 older but not by much. We may have crossed paths back then 😊 I don't remember Black Forest pub but I remember The Den. It was across from the post office
Thanks for this video, Elmo. Very nicely done 👍🏼 This is my area. Sea Park & Paramount is definitely a food haven in PJ. Unfortunately, prices are getting more and more expensive.
I don’t know if you still remember that there is a CD shop called C & L Dics Center in Sea Park. I miss him very much. From LD, CD, VCD, to DVD. I rent or buy them there. Very historic. Do you have an impression?
Thanks Ben I noticed u r a bi lingual too. I don't recall tis place, however I was renting laser disc from the Victoria music boss from his detached house in section 14
Ipoh Hakka Yong Tau Foo was kicked out from this kopishop. I found them at SS2 Chow Yang. Still as good. Their veggie fish paste stuff "liao" are pretty awesome. Apparently they had disagreement about something and thus the ytf had to move out.
I can feel your pain when your wife asked you to throw away the " rubbish" . I have cassettes , CD , DVD in my collection ... just dont have the heart to throw them away. Your recommendation on the food is really spot on as i have eaten majority of those places as my office is just round the corner . The foods are indeed delicious and only headache is parking ! Thanks for sharing . I am curious , last video on Bandar Puteri , i posted my comments but i do not see them , was there an error ?
Learn to let go is doing a favour to yourself and your family. Things that is no longer in use becomes accumulate like a mountain, if you have rented storage room then different case, or else its just an eyesore. My dad kept alot of old speakers, 1 day my late mom kenot tahan, she called someone come and collect all speakers, what a relief
Absolutely agree with you...those will not understand how precious these CD or DVD for collector. My first ever CD i bought with my saving from school allowances in 1988.
Music CD still has its niche following due to sound quality instead of compressed mp3 and music streaming. As for movies, DVD is still relevant IF you have DVD player, more of older generation since 4K and streaming services is readily available. Seapark is basically section 21, bordering Paramount Garden, which is section 20. Ruby cinema was iconic landmark, before it was shut, turned into a Church & vacated, then now, eye-sore Ruby apartment :)

Very good review. I stayed in Paramount Gardens in the 70s, probably about the same time as you. Ruby and Paramount theaters were happening places 😊

Black Forest was at the seapark shopping center next to ruby. Foodland minimarket was there in the 1970s
