Shawn has an amazing voice. I was 9 years old when I heard "last night" and used my allowance to buy their cassette tape single. And I agree Babyface is a genius.
This was very interesting interview. Cuz I never knew they would even talk about this..!! They some bomb songs. I still listen to them today & most them been on playlist for at least 3yrs.
Shawn was oh so sexy and Eye Candy. His vocals were pure fire in Hard To Say Sorry. I remember my girlfriends and I had major crush on him in the 90's. Glad to see he's well and doing his thing.

This is so interesting. Although I didn’t know them well, I remember the group before their big record from the play, Carols in Color. I was in the chorus and would hear them singing during rehearsal breaks. My favorite this is that they introduced to the song Informer by Snow. I loved that song! I was happy for them when they got signed, but didn’t follow their journey. There was real talent in the group for sure.
You all are so talented I hate the way the music industry does business. It is a cut throat industry. Shawn Rivera you are too talented not to have gone solo.
It’s almost like they aren’t mentioned when LaFace artists are brought up. They were the most successful R&B group on the label (I consider TLC a hip hop/soul group).
True, the group probably would have gotten more push in Atlanta. But I am happy I did make some good friends in LA. And get some unforgettable opportunities.
Fantastic interview. I wish you brought up the era when Darryl picked up 3 guys and tried to do Az Yet on his own and focused a tad more on all the lineup changes happened cuz Shawn was there for most of those.
@@HalftimeChat I saw half of the interview with Claude, Kenny, Dion, and Parrice. I didn't see part 3 or 4 of this one. And some people already brought up you didn't mention him but if you did in part 3 or 4, then my fault. I'll get on it.
@@HalftimeChat That’s fine! I finished parts 3 and 4. He covered some lineup changes but not the part where Darryl tried to tour as Az Yet for 3 years in the mid-2000’s. He may have been then but people change just look at how the guys Shawn, started the group with have treated him with not giving him his credit where it's do and they were like brothers. I guess along the way their egos were just as bad along with other things.
@@phillipbishop7719 I have always admired those who are able to CHOSE to believe in the good in people. I dont know Marc Nelson personally. This is strickly my opinion based on observations from 30 years of being a fan of his music, and the group's that he has been apart of ( Boyz II Men, Az Yet and Blazay). People dont change. Any "change" you may see has been motivated by money....or lack there of. The only reason you see a "change" in him in the interview is because he knows that the characteristic of being an egomaniac, selfish, disloyal etc will effect his pockets with fans who will potentiallysupport a project he is involved in.He has developed a reputation. He has made alot of selfish decisions in his career that has ruined the livelihood of others. So how remorseful he is now means nothing. He ruined other talented and deserving musicians chance at greatness. He wasn't even apart of AzYet when they signed. And when he left. Labels didnt see them as valuable.
