Oh my how beautiful, you certainly looked tired at the end of your hike. You deserve a good notes sleep. Thank you so much for video's. You both are Angel's living on our planet.
GLORIOUS PICTOGRAPHS! You find the VERY BEST 'Roads less travelled'...& Your narratives are SO informative..So thoroughly enjoy your travels...thank you🗿🌲⛰️🚗
Great video! All of those pictographs blow my mind. To think they have lasted thousands of years. I think it's interesting that the figures always seem to have elongated bodies. They are just amazing! Thanks so much for sharing.
Thanks Carol! They blow my mind too every time I see them. I'm worried that a lot of people watching the videos won't find them as interesting as I do, so I'm happy that you share my fascination with them.
Wow. Oh man, so good. No one around, just nature and ancient echoes. I would love to visit there. It's a long way from oz, and the world has changed. I hope I'm still going to see it one day.
Tristan, this is an amazing vid. Thank you so much. It is earth day 2021, and I would like to be out on the road taking in my love for this planet, but am caring for my 90 yo Mom right now. Thanks for giving me a moment of peeking into another life and world. Hope you are well. And thx for the SUV hang. Have a subbie for this exact traveling purpose, but life is life wherever we are. So here I am in Michigan, loving Mom and the incredibly beautiful spring.
Hey thanks for recording and sharing the accurate (I hope) coordinates with us. They are a bit different than those on the Google Earth map, and sometimes a few dozen yards make a difference ! Wild Horse is a place I haven't been before, so it will be great to photograph.
I like your videos a lot - you have a very nice and calm way to talk and to document your adventures. It's almost like doing all these things myself. I've been to some of these places but of course not to all of them. Thank you so much for taking me back there.
The arch is reminiscent of bow tie arch next to Corona arch. This one is absolutely more spectacular but I believe the geologically process in the same. Basically a cave that collapsed to make a skylight. Not too long ago what started as a dare ended up with my daughter and I dangling like big teabags from one such structure. The rappel was both terrifying and awesome in too many ways to describe. I’m going to find the pics right now and reminisce 😂. Thanks for the vid brother!
So I recently actually joined the Natural Arch and Bridge Society (NABS), which catalogs and categorizes natural arches and bridges. They have a good section on their website about arch taxonomy: www.naturalarches.org/archinfo/taxonomy.htm. This kind of arch is a "cave natural arch," formed when the roof of a cave collapses. Makes sense. And yes, I think Bowtie is one too. Pretty cool stuff.
I stumbled to your amazing videos during one of my sleepless nights. Its very encouraging and thought of doing the same thing that you do, if only my circumstances and health would allow. Thank you very much.
Tristan, great video as usual. Coming from somebody who has spent his entire 46 year life on the east coast your videos are a glimpse into the natural beauty of the west. For that I thank you. Last January I was fortunate to get to go on my first ever trip out west (Bisbee, AZ). And even though it was for work, I spend almost every non-working hour outside exploring. I took the middle weekend and went up to Tuscon to explore Sabino Canyon (my profile pic is from that location). I was like a kid in a candy store looking at things I've only ever seen on TV. God willing, I will be back because like the song goes there's too many places I've got to see. TFS your journeys!
Bisbee is great! I was there last month. I know the eastern US has its fair share of beautiful places, but the western US is just unreal. And there's so much to see and do! That's the thing that constantly amazes me. I could spend the rest of my life exploring just southern Utah and never see everything there is to see. Pretty crazy. Thanks for watching, and I'm glad you enjoy the videos. I appreciate you always commenting, too.
Thanks Tristan, love your vids, you have a great nitch with your vids. You get to places nobody else visits, I love that, don't change a thing for any haters!
Thanks Tim! I don't get too many haters (though I realize that my videos aren't for everyone; they're too long and I'm too chill for some people) but they're the kinds of videos I wished existed before I started making them. It's good to find other people with similar tastes. I'm lucky enough to have already been to most of the places a lot of people go, so it's easy for me to get off the beaten path more and really sink my teeth into an area. I appreciate you watching and commenting.
Tristan, that is an amazing area you are in. Beautiful views. That was a great little hike. Especially the cave at Wild Horse window. Some really nice rock art too. Been a great trip so far. Looking forward to it next day. Davin
That area where you lived was great. Ogden has a lot of traffic! As a trucker I delivered to Ogden several times. Overall Utah has a lot of wonderful scenery.
The cabin was neat, and it was in surprisingly good shape considering how old it is. You could stay there today and be very protected from the elements.
Thanks for sharing the other pictograph site and the cave! I stumbled upon your channel after seeing your video of the Goblin's Lair. I literally camped within a half mile of the window and the better preserved panel of pictographs and didn't even know they were there while I was in the area. Guess I'll have to go back, shucks, haha. I very much enjoy your content and I appreciate you taking the time to document these adventures. Wish you still lived in Utah so I could see more "local" content since I'm in Southern UT, but I'll have to peruse your collection of older vids, because you've already given me numerous ideas for future excursions.
great vid....I did a 3 day trail ride with some friends at San Rafael swell/Swasey’s cabin area about 16 yrs ago. We were invited by the Green River saddle club, and drove down from Montana...after San Rafael ride, some of us drove to northern section of Canyonlands, spent the night in the bed of the pickup, got up and rode our horses down into Horseshoe canyon the next morning....it was sooo beautiful down in the wash, saw some really cool, ancient petroglyphs....one of my fondest adventure memories....would like to re-visit the area and do some hiking there
SUV RVing San Raphael swell was very nice, but waking up above Horseshoe Canyon, which just looked like scrubby desert, then going down to the bottom, and finding such a lush, beautiful environment was such a wonderful surprise! that was my first time being in a desert canyon...amazing....since that time, I have lived in a high desert, Sedona, AZ, and travelled to others...bought your car hanger about a year ago, and was going to buy the car hammock yesterday , but out of stock...hope back in stock soon....have a 2012 Subaru outback want to set up for car camping this spring...just bought your book in ebook format
On my old Atlas just south of I-70 the mtn area is called Fishlake Nat'l Forest. Up in a more Northern Direction by State Route 29 its called Manti-LA SAL National Forest.
SUV RVing I appreciate your effort and hope to thank you in person one day with camp fire dinner when I get my school bus conversion on the road and visit your wonderful state!
Howdy from TX... I sure like watching your video they are inspiring and great information...Keep up the good work bro.😎👍 Thanks for sharing and God bless
Hi Sal. I'm originally from Texas (Dallas area). It's a good place. Just not enough mountains for my liking :) I'm glad you like the videos, and thanks for watching.
SUV RVing I'm from Houston and been thinking about getting in the van life or just traveling like you. Just haven't found that vehicle yet, but soon.. Any suggestions?
Nice. My parents live in Houston. I'd recommend something with higher clearance (i.e., not a minivan or anything). Most SUVs would fit the bill, as would many cargo vans. Truck camping might also work well for you. Just depends on what you're into. I'm partial to SUVs, but it doesn't really matter what you're in. The vehicle is just a tool to get you to where you want to to. It's just a means to an end. Don't overthink it. Just get a vehicle, toss a camping mattress and sleeping bag inside, and hit the road.
SUV RVing cool.... Thanks for the suggestion and I will be looking into those options.... although I do like the cargo van or truck camper idea as well, like you said just get a vehicle and go.... Take care and God bless
That looks like a big bear on the cabin lol. I could live there but need some mud in there haha. That is very beautiful country as always. When you started your drive it looked like a cliff, was It? Hope you are not being uranium ized lol You find the neatest figure drawings Looks like the cities in the future with a snake hanging off a building. Pictographs are so cool 😎 that would be a great place for artist. But a loss for words would definitely be me also. Thanks again for another great vlog Tristan. Just beautiful.
"When you started your drive it looked like a cliff, was It?" I don't really know what you're referring to there. There are lots of cliffs in this video. And yeah, the pictographs here were really spectacular. Thanks for watching :)
Love the pictographs love the videos... but for some reason i miss the cooking and snack making. Maybe it’s just me but I actually enjoy watching people cook/eat outdoors. Dang you food network. Lol
A lot of the time I just cook and eat things that I've already shown in other videos, so it's not all that interesting. But if I cook new stuff, I show it. Thanks Marlah.
Hi Tristan, every time I watch your videos I feel like I'm listening to mr. Rogers for adults and I mean that in the most positive way! You have a very calming voice and your videos are always beautiful. I'm curious if you get Lonesome always traveling by yourself?
Lol, that might be the best description of me that I've heard! That's fantastic. Do I get lonely? No, not really. I miss my fiancée when I'm on trips like this, but I'm not really craving human interaction. I really enjoy being by myself.
Been following your trip. Great exploring fun. I think i might try to build your solar powered project. I travel some each year and having extra charging power for off the grid is perfect.
I don't remember what it was like on this particular night, but it's generally pretty incredible. When the moon isn't full, you can often see the Milky Way. Just awesome.
I'm glad I came across your channel! Sometime in the near the future I plan to do a tour of Utah. I'm definitely going to subscribe and use your video's as reference. By the way, do you always keep a kayak on top of your Rav4? I have an inflatable 3 person kayak, it rolls up into the size of a 75L back packing bag. Great for hiking to a body of water and then deploying the kayak :P
Nope, I don't always keep the kayak up there. Just on trips when I plan on using it. Inflatable kayaks don't interest me too much for my travel style. The options for storing it are inside the vehicle (no room) or on the roof in the cargo box. But if I put it in the cargo box, I can't put much else in there. The great thing about the plastic kayak is that it takes up otherwise unused space on the roof of my car. Storing it at home is kind of a pain though. I do have a small, 1-person inflatable raft that I take when I want to go hike to a lake in the mountains.
I like the hat-- has the Lawrence of Arabia look, though it does make sense in the desert. The Wild Horse Window is amazing-- but yeah quite sure those are fake. Another fine video.
Nope. Same camera and settings I've been using for nearly a year. The videos are always 1080p, but depending on how good your internet connection is, UA-cam might show you the lower-res versions by default. But either way, I'm glad it looks good!
Tristan, I really like your videos, travels, and willingness to show how you do it all in an SUV. I hope it encourages others to find a creative way to get out and enjoy the beautiful sites, past cultures, and artifacts. I know what I'm about to say is controversial and up to each individual. As a fellow overlander, boondocker, dispersed camper or whatever you want to call it, I am totally confused as to why you spend hours researching interesting and rarely traveled areas only to give exact coordinates to those places on a world-wide viewing platform? Wouldn't it be enough to simply mention names of areas or better yet, lay you quarter on the map and let those interested or willing to spend some effort and time to discover their own seldom seen treasures? I don't understand why just a short while ago you were only willing to share a picture showing the scene from a hilltop cave, to now listing coordinates to every cool place encountered. For those wanting to spend only 10mins finding cool places to visit - nothing wrong with this - allow them to simply read the "Top 10 Cool Places to Visit in ..." articles after their google search. For those of us who are willing to spend countless hours pouring over atlases, BLM Motor Vehicle maps, satellite views, and the internet... or even opening our mouths to ask a local where they like to go, please reconsider what you are doing. I respect you and your channel but felt I needed to (hopefully respectfully) voice this one man's opinion. I've been to so many fantastic locations out in the west only to find spent casings, busted clay pigeons, bottles, trash and shot up artifacts that it makes me sick to think why someone would be so disrespectful to a land or structure that will never again be the way that is was. Thank you.
Hi Austin. Thanks for the kind words, and I'm glad you enjoy my videos. My rule is pretty simple. If information about an area is already published and easily accessible online, I too will share its location. If it isn't, I don't share its location. Does that make sense? (That's why I didn't share info about the caves but have shared info about the pictographs in this video, for example. You can easily find these pictographs' location online if you search for them by name.) You said wouldn't it be better to just say the name of an area. Not really, not if you can just Google it and quickly find its location anyway. As a side note, in my experience, the casings and clay pigeons and trash and defacement are often the fault of locals who feel like they own the place, not outsiders, but your experiences may have been different.
It's an impressive position to take. I for one appreciate how you have considered this. Leaving some adventure for future adventurers...helping to preserve the sanctity of sacred sites. I get it. Thanks for the videos!
I actually plan on doing that within the next few weeks. I'm gearing up to buy an expensive camera to increase video quality, and those things aren't going to buy themselves!
Thank you for showing me where my knees can no longer go. Beautiful!
Thank you for watching!
Oh my how beautiful, you certainly looked tired at the end of your hike. You deserve a good notes sleep. Thank you so much for video's. You both are Angel's living on our planet.
This channel should be made into a TV series!
GLORIOUS PICTOGRAPHS! You find the VERY BEST 'Roads less travelled'...& Your narratives are SO informative..So thoroughly enjoy your travels...thank you🗿🌲⛰️🚗
Thanks Lizzy! I always appreciate you commenting, and I'm glad you keep watching and enjoying the videos :)
Loved the Rock Art! Thank you for finding it Tristan!❤️😀🇺🇸🌏🚙
I really enjoyed seeing the view from where the pictographs were drawn!
The Wild Horse cave & window were great! I agree; awe inspiring!
That looks like an alien head at 14:19 carved into the rock. Kinda freaked me out when you panned past it.
My kids and I were there last month, and rapelled down thru Wild Horse Window! We camped west of Temple. Spent a couple of weeks exploring Utah, wow!
I am absolutely gobsmacked by the incredible sites you have found. Absolutely stunning. So happy you decided to share your travels on UA-cam.
Thanks Barb! It really is a gorgeous area. I love going there and sharing with you guys. Thanks for watching.
Wow. Oh man, so good. No one around, just nature and ancient echoes. I would love to visit there. It's a long way from oz, and the world has changed. I hope I'm still going to see it one day.
Gosh. I could sit in that cave for hours and be content. Thank you so much for sharing the sights with us.
It was a pretty great places. I was there for a solid hour and didn't see a soul. Thanks Melissa!
Tristan, this is an amazing vid. Thank you so much. It is earth day 2021, and I would like to be out on the road taking in my love for this planet, but am caring for my 90 yo Mom right now. I really enjoying your videos. Some of the best I've seen.

Great hat 👌 and can’t believe I’ve never heard of this cave before it’s amazing!
Lol thanks. The hat looks dumb but is better than skin cancer! And yeah, the cave is unreal. One of the coolest things I've seen in a while.
I love your adventures you are showing us, dear Tristan... 🌻🍄
I'm so glad! Thanks for watching :)
I like your videos a lot - you have a very nice and calm way to talk and to document your adventures. It's almost like doing all these things myself. I've been to some of these places but of course not to all of them. Thank you so much for taking me back there.

"I'd live here!" Haha. Awesome.
It's true. I absolutely would.
Thank you. I really have no words. Beautiful.
Thanks Kathryn. The desert isn't for everyone, but I'm glad you seem to appreciate it as much as I do. It's a beautiful place.
SUV RVing Your skill and talent for showing it to me from the perspective of your appreciation makes your videos.
Pretty awesome spots you found...arm pit... and dinner... LOL .... glad weather is cooperating...
Gotta get clean, gotta eat! Lol thanks for watching :)
Wow! Amazing place 💎
Definitely a beautiful area. Thanks for watching and commenting, Fauzia.

Yeah, that cave was so cool! This area is one of my favorites in the US. There's just so much to do, and it's stunning. Thanks Davin!
Amazing views! It was great to go along with you, Thank you!
Thanks for tagging along! I'm glad you liked the video.
That area where you lived was great. Ogden has a lot of traffic! As a trucker I delivered to Ogden several times. Overall Utah has a lot of wonderful scenery.
Super cool! Thanks for showing us this cabin! I’ve got see it for myself ... the rock looks like a statue
The cabin was neat, and it was in surprisingly good shape considering how old it is. You could stay there today and be very protected from the elements.
I love all the places you find.
Me too! :)
Hopefully I'll get to hike that arch this spring.
Don't worry, I just got back from 3 weeks in southern Utah. It's a place I'll always visit.
So beautiful. Thank you for sharing your travels.
I'll keep sharing as long as you keep watching :)
Cheese, Trisket, and a green olive. The best!
Agreed!
Very nice video, so inspiring. Thank you for sharing your adventures with us.
I'm glad you liked it. Thanks for watching!
Thank you Tristan! What beautiful country! I'm putting it on my list to get there! I think your hat is smart! (said from someone that had melanoma!)

Thanks Debbie! I hope you get to see these places too. They're incredible :)
I like some of your camping supply tips from other vids. the land you are on is beautiful. saw a few vids times last year. subscribed.

Huh, I don't think I've heard that comparison before, but I'll take it! :)
Great video more things now on my must see list - thanks again
That's what I'm here for :) Thanks Amanda!
Amanda C hi Amanda!
Hi Carolena, How are you? Nice to hear from you and hope you are well? Maybe we can share a hike or two when I get to the USA? Best wishes Amanda
Amanda C absolutely! I hope everything is moving along as you hope. You have my contact info. Keep me posted!
SUV RVing I appreciate your effort and hope to thank you in person one day with camp fire dinner when I get my school bus conversion on the road and visit your wonderful state!

Awesome adventures
Thanks! It was a good day out.
Your education just enhances these beautiful videos.....thanks....get some rest
Fantastic!
Thanks!
Have you been to Dead Horse Point near Moab? Video? My wife and I loved it!
Very cool
Thanks!

I don't know which bush you're talking about.
Wow the views were great but that road looked a little sketchy at 6:00 of the video
Been following your trip. Great exploring fun. I think i might try to build your solar powered project. I travel some each year and having extra charging power for off the grid is perfect.
Go for it! Like you said, it's nice to have the extra power to play with. Thanks Dave.
Awesome views. Have you encountered any bad weather that you had to move to a different campsite due to flooding or sand storms?
AWESOME DAY!! Thanku for taking us there! What was the night sky like out there? 😎
I don't remember what it was like on this particular night, but it's generally pretty incredible. When the moon isn't full, you can often see the Milky Way. Just awesome.

I like the red people myself, Great vid's !!!
Me too! Very interesting figures. Thanks for watching.
I want to look through the wild horse window
K I'll take you there.
If u every get back to this cabin walk back to the cowboy cave and if u go west about a quarter mile and look at the icebox
Will do 👍
Hi, have you upgraded your camera recently, it's beautifully clear at 1080P?
Nope. Same camera and settings I've been using for nearly a year. The videos are always 1080p, but depending on how good your internet connection is, UA-cam might show you the lower-res versions by default. But either way, I'm glad it looks good!
Check your catilitic converter dude I destroyed mine like that 1,200 later .
New cars have protected covering but heard your bottom scrape .
There aren't any issues with it.

What type of tires on your car
Some Michelin all-terrains from Costco.
Austin James yes. I dig the past cultures element
It's an impressive position to take. I for one appreciate how you have considered this. Leaving some adventure for future adventurers...helping to preserve the sanctity of sacred sites. I get it. Thanks for the videos!
Austin James it has encouraged me😉
Hi, How far in on the dirt road?
How far in is what?
how long were you traveling on the dirt road?
Basically the whole day was on dirt roads
Thanks, I just traveled about 7 miles down a rough dirt road. I almost got stuck., but got through it.
Maybe monetize your videos so you can take and share even more awesome trips?! Thanks for sharing. 👍🏾🙂
I actually plan on doing that within the next few weeks. I'm gearing up to buy an expensive camera to increase video quality, and those things aren't going to buy themselves!
Yeah, it's annoying. I think I applied in early March, and it's saying end of June for me too. Hopefully it'll happen at some point...
❤️😃🙌🏼!!!
