- The Jewish Telegraph’s Paul Harris reacts to Michael Gove accusing organisers of pro-Palestine marches of failing to deal with antisemitic demonstrators.
The Communities Secretary used a speech at a Jewish community centre in North London to accuse protest organisers of failing to deal with antisemitic demonstrators, leaving Jewish citizens feeling intimidated and unsafe.
But he also sought to link rising cases of antisemitism to a wider contest between the West and authoritarian states.
Paul says: “The police on duty seem unaware of what their powers are, they are frightened to act!"

The police weren't in the least frightened to act when a group of women were holding a peaceful, totally non-disruptive, vigil for Sarah Everard, whom one of their own had raped and murdered. In fact they seemed to positively relish breaking up that vigil.
They knew the crowd holding the vigil would not be violent. Exactly the same reason they feel comfortable arresting Iranian dissidents and pro-Israel counter protesters

There were not only Jewish people at the protest in London but plenty of Union flags, we the ordinary man on the street are also threatened by the Hamas and as things are at the moment they could be barbaric here as well. For the sake of the people who pay for the police help us.

If the radicals can garner such big numbers and cause chaos, why can't you Brits garner bigger numbers and counter protest. If they become violent, you don't have a choice but to defend yourselves. Should we expect anything less when we have stuffed the police service with WPCs and university students who couldn't fight their way out of a wet paper bag. When i was growing up the rank and file of the police service were made up of ex military men who were firm but fair - sometimes.

It's not just two tier policing. The police are directed by those at the top and in politics. The problem is they are all scared to act, because they knew full well who is really behind all these protests, who is funding them, controlling, infiltrating the student campus's etc. I wonder what threats i.e another 7/7, have been made to ensure the protests go ahead and arrests and crackdowns kept to a minimum. We've seen what happens to politicians if they get involved, why would the police risk themselves or potentially their families if they got identified and targeted themselves? It's much easier for the police to deal with the peaceful Pro Israel side, as there is no threat to them, so they can just treat them however they want.

We have been told for some time now that our prisons are full. This means that there is a lot of crime in Britain and logic says we should build more prisons but there are few votes in building expensive to build and run prisons. That is the real point much of our political thinking is based on votes and which policies will win most votes as votes mean power. The political and judicial system belongs to the dark ages and that is why our politicians appear incompetent because the system was designed to maintain the elitist rule and control of the masses so politicians are restricted by an out of date system which suits slow movement and bureaucracy and the people are quite low on the list of priorities . Letting prisoners out early is not a deterrent but in fact helps increase crime, which also applies to the illegal immigrants which has zero deterrent .if both increase then logic says chaos will ensue.
