If you're going to South Florida near Boca Raton, Pompano, Riviera Beach, check out Force-E Scuba. They'll hook you up with a snare. Tony Coulter is the captain of Diveboat Diversity/Sunstar Aquatics and is genius when it comes to putting you on the bugs!
Thanks for watching. The reason for making the loop smaller is so that you can get it behind the lobster. Once your loop is behind the lobster, gently tap his tail and he will walk forward instead of going further into the hole. After you get him far enough out of the hole, make your loop big again and start working the loop over his tail. If he retreats at this point, he'll back himself right into the loop.
Hey Ryan. I left the first lobster because the one behind it was HUGE. It was the biggest lobster I'd ever seen and I wanted to get at it first, before it backed too far into its hole to catch.
gotcha! Just used that green snare for the second time, and I love it a lot more than a tickle stick and net. Less to carry, too. Have you ever come across a lobster too big for it to fit around?
The first lobster I caught in this video was the biggest I've ever caught, so I decided to concentrate on it first even at the risk losing the smaller lobster. The snare went around it with plenty of room to spare. I've never seen one too big to catch with the snare. I like the snares, as they are a lot less cumbersome than a tickle stick & net. Get some practice with that snare and you'll have good success with it.
Thanks, out in Cali we have to catch them by hand but I'm headed to FLA and loved watching you use the stick!

What a great video! Thanks!!
Thanks! I'm glad you enjoyed it.
I see you made the loop small, however
how can a small loop go thru the Fan like tail?

Fantastic
wouldnt the lobsters backed further into the hole?
Awesome video and an awesome time!
At 1min why do you leave the first lobster to potentially swim away and go for lobster #2?
