      I like the metro boomin method “just go in the sample menu and on page 2 where it says “cut x by x “ just change the kick and the 808 to the same cut channels. Boom instant sidechain

    actually in the fl is peak controller and you have more control about sidechain, for example you can sidechain that eq at 70hz on bassline so your bass is untouched while kick is not punching or you can sidechain parameters of compressor or anything you want, but i like that you know what are you doing, keep it up, good job

    thank you brother for all this great work, one thing i find it hard to do which is how to choose the right kicks and claps and stuff inside the channel rack to your desire, you talented guys doing it quickly but i spend hours trying to match kick with another clap or hi and stuff :)

    For the release I just use the Nick Fever Delay Calcualtor and use the fastest release and put the curve to 8 so it doesn't have distortion. Sometimes I half the fastest release time to make it extra tight and get it knocking perfectly

    You can also try shifting your 808 a bit to get you started. It has the same type of effect as sidechaining but it's dirty and doesn't achieve the best result. Very good tutorial, bro. Keep up the good work!

    I usually sidechain trough the EQ, so it dosen’t duck in volume put ducks in frequency. I usually get a more cleaner sound.

    Also, you can automate that bell peak on eq so when the kick hits that bell peak on 808 on 70Hz just duck for the amount you want for example like -3db

    After months of trying this method and not being satisfied, I stopped side chaining. Simply, just level out your sounds the right way so its hitting under -6db, and use simple subtractive eq.
