Why Do GAMERS Love GTA Online?

- There really is nothing on the market quite like Grand Theft Auto Online. From the staggering number of things to do and wide array of ways to do them, it's an experience that just has to be played to be believed.
You just need to dive in and see for yourself. While getting the amount of cash you need to really get to the good stuff can be a bit of a grind, especially if you're trying to avoid spending more real-world money in the game, the game provides such a gargantuan amount of things to do and ways to explore that you could just as well quit thinking about the grind and just have fun while the metrics you’re looking to fill ultimately take care of themselves. While you might not really get what GTA online is all about by looking at it from the outside, once you dive in, it's impossible to not see why the game has stuck around and remained so relevant for so long.
Just wish you could do heists alone with NPC instead of players
We need that in the Ps5 of GTA 5.

It's an improvement over gta 4 online in many ways but it's a worse experience because of the toxic community thanks to hackers and griefers, I mainly play races, deathmatches, king of the hill, survival and other modes with friends so it's a great time for me but the free roam experience is shit....
I started playing GTA online some weeks ago (with my previous ISP it was impossible to play online), I played for 3-4 hours each day for a week but sadly I wasn't impressed, I love the main single player GTA V but maybe im just an oldschoool player that only enjoys single player games and it sucks since I really wanted to get invested and love GTA online. At the end I couldn't find a reason for all the grind.
No no you’re not alone. Same can be said with rdo. Everyone plays it for single player but when you play online. It sucks and really does mostly because rockstar does bare minimum. Most of the problems we are facing aren’t rockstar doing but take 2 buuuut at same time they are lacking behind taking care of hackers and actual problems that we want fixes for instead of fixing things that weren’t even issues at all.
@@evandaymon8303 GTA 4’s multiplayer (and it’s TLAD/TBOGT add one) were better than this. Why? Because it was fun and simple. It really utilized the sandbox of Liberty City and wasn’t overly complex that you had to treat it like a full time job.

Reading some comments, I’m glad to know that I’m not the only one who doesn’t get the hype behind GTA online. Sure all of the content seems exciting and cool the first time or couple of times you do them but eventually it all turns into a chore, maybe it’s just me but the main problem I have with the game is the lack of longevity and the absence of Endgame. What I mean by this is the fact that you’re essentially just doing the same heists and missions over and over again with the same vehicles or slightly new vehicles to get money to spend it on more stuff, it’s nothing more than a vicious cycle. Again, maybe I’m playing the game the wrong way but I still have not gotten a definitive answer on why this game is so enjoyable.

It’s not just a game it’s a social experience. You have car clubs; hangout spots; roleplay; etc. try not to think of it as reaching a endgame but rather as a social space.
GTA is a jack of all trades, but a master of none. You get a first and third person shooter, tennis, golf, darts, arm wrestling, all kinds of racing, all kinds of survivals and versus modes, you get some survival/horror with slashers, then player customization. So much you can do. Not many games offer this to be honest. I can't even think of any games that come close.

@@-Tony-Gunk- I've spent days thinking, trying to find any game that comes close to what GTA online offers, then I remembered that GTA online allows it's players to create custom jobs/modes that are unique, allows you to share them, that itt offers multiple.group types from bikers, to ricers, literally can just roll with a group of friends as a biker club all around town, or as ricers, or as bodyguards to your CEO/vip, you can role play on PC with the role playing mods and groups. Literally not one game that is currently available for purchase even comes close to the amount of things a available to do. Now do some games do specific aspects better, sure, need for speed will have better driving/car customization, Battlefield would have better first person military combat, sims would have more sim gameplay, but none of them can do all that GTA online does.
@@DynamicHaze yeah, some games specialises in one or two features and excels at it, gta online does a decent job at whatever game mode it has, also in a weird way lol, gta online is more consumer friendly than others because of regular free dlc, other games lock content behind a season pass and charge $10-20, also gta online has no lootboxes
I played on release (2013) then played for a few years on and off before uninstalling but I recently re installed gta v then watched a shit load of videos about gta v business’s and now I’m more addictive than ever in 2023 I now own a oppressor mk 2 (homing missiles equipped) acid lad, terrorbyte, nightclub, bunker weed and counterfeit business, and a few warehouses, the acid lab is definitely a game changer.
Because they can't get GTA-VI so they are stuck with it

The thing about gta is that you can do mostly everything from real life unlike cod(only shooting) Minecraft( only adventure) on so on

I have a love and hate relationship with this game. Love it for the jobs and heists but hate it with the matchmaking and the loading times.

I prefer Red Dead Online. It's such a beautiful game with so much depth. Severely under-rated by Gamers and under-loved by the Devs.

I agree with you that there is a HUGE lack of content in RDO. I will not defend R* on the fact that they dont give it the attention it deserves.
I dont believe I'm setting my bar low, I just prefer RDO style of gameplay and its atmosphere over that of GTA:O.
I never really liked GTA 5 that much. Sure there are things you can do that you can't do in previous titles, but whenever they release a new gta title they go backwards.

@@successbraining3824 They could have made GTA 5 so much better. It would be a bigger game, but they could have added the other cities that were in GTA San Andreas or made it to where you can possibly buy the other cities in an expansion pack. I wouldn't have mind paying an extra 10 or more dollars just to get San Fiero and Las Vanturas with maybe new missions that would expand the storyline to those cities. Maybe add new features that you could have done in previous games like gambling, actually having to feed your character(s)/walking into a clucking bell or burger shot, work out and build muscle, learn a different fighting style, add a respect meter, etc..
@@waltclifton858 its a 7th gen game. rendering los santos with all its detail was very difficult in the first place, besides the story dlc for gta iv and rdr1 didnt sell well, so it never got any dlc. Maybe expanded and enhanced will add in more interiors and other features. Respect meter dont make sense, Franklin is getting out of the hood, unlike cj who stayed in the hood

I absolutely love it, when I can get a solo public lobby. I love the places, the scenery, the cars, the whole lot, what I don't like are the griefers and trolls
Messing with, trolling and running circles around GTA players is one of the most fun things to do for me, GTA rando's are without a doubt the dumbest lot i've ever seen in any gaming communuity.

I bought it for the awesome single player experience period. I have no interest in playing the online mode.
Just bought 2 days ago and whenever I enter the casino the performance becomes very bad and whenever I join a public server or enter a solo session or enter a private session with my friends the performance becomes very bad in the city is there a solution?

Get a shark card buy a bunker, nightclub, terabyte and an oppressor mk2 then hide in your bunker, or leave on the oppressor and spam fire every time you get a lock on and murder everyone on the server. 👌
Watch the professional on GTA. He has many tutorials on getting the essentials without buying sharkcards. But it's a massive grind and the game is very toxic where you'll get blown up by flying bikes or cars
I only like gta online to bond with my friends because they're not as big of a gamer as me, so that's one of the few games they play. I do hate gta online because of the low payouts from missions compared to how much everything is, though. My only complaint about gta online though. Overall it's a solid experience
It's the best game out by far. You can do just about anything and there are game modes that resemble pretty much any other game out there. And their dlcs keep the game fresh. It's not the same game that came out almost 10 years ago. And the dlcs are free. It's the closest thing to "The Oasis" from ready player one.

I loved GTA Online more than life itself for the first few months after it came out, then Rockstar took my nearly eight billion dollars I had accumulated that various hackers gave me. lol
Then I still played it from time to time, then they started requiring Plus to play online suddenly and I gave up. Haven't loaded it up in years.

Bruh, we don't like this game. We play it because no one will even attempt to make a game like it. We're being held hostage by a lack of innovation and unwillingness in the industry to complete with rockstar.
We play it so we can chill with our friends in a persistent, mmo world that was based on realistic shooting and driving... I say used to be because they've added a bunch of unbalanced scifi nonsense that detracts from the teamplay.
This games potential is the most wasted of any in all of human history. People only play it for what could have been, not for what it's actually become. We're all holding out hope it'll get better...
I tried GTA Online last week, and I tried to complete the first hour's worth of tutorial missions and just got killed again and again by griefers with flying missile-launching motorbikes. Not even slightly fun.

We don’t love it, it’s the fact that they shut down GTA IV online and haven’t given RDRO any attention, with 2 major updates since launch. It’s all we have. Majority of the people who play it are little kids who don’t know any better.

@@raptorfromthe6ix833 Correction on my part, they are still up on console, but PC servers are gone, which were still pretty active at the time. Modders have been able to create workarounds, though it's very unconventional.

They themself said reason of GTA6 taking so long is because of the support of GTA online. Played all gta to death including online the later not a big deal for me personally,I liked the story mode best. I have been ready for an gta 6 a long time now.

I was a huge GTA fan. I don't know how people are still playing it. The controls are beyond dated. The oppressor vehicles ruin the fun. And why can the races be in the city rather than up in the sky 🤷🏻♂️

Same reason why Milsimmers play ArmA 3, why Medieval enthusiasts play Bannerlord, why Realismers play Tarkov and why people constantly whine about their favorite game. We don't have an alternative that is just as good. We just want the exact same game without the flaws, and it doesn't exist, so we play despite the problems and frustration
We don't, GAMERS are still waiting for the Nat Type glitch, or something similar, to return, so we can even play. GAMERS cannot currently play, public lobbies are full of griefers and trolls, and you can't do your businesses in a private lobby. TLDR, GAMERS can't do businesses, so can't make any substantial money, and so cannot buy almost anything in the game, at the current moment, unless you're a griefer/troll, and griefers/trolls =/= GAMERS

For example, in Minecraft, a griefer is someone who walks into your base, and decides, "hey, lets steal his items, blow up his build, and put lava everywhere". In GTAO a griefer is someone who, despite having significantly higher level, more money, better equipment, decides to follow a particular, usually lower level player, and continuously blow up their stuff, spawn camping, usually with an Oppressor MKII.

Same here havnt played gta 5 story mode or online in years and I was one of those people that pre ordered and was there on day one for gta online played for 3 years in but am looking forward to going back once we get the nex gen version
Only issue is GTA online public Lobby on ps4 runs like crap 10-15 FPS its unplayable. Idk about ps5 tho.

Everything in game is priced so high that it’ll make you just want to spend real money on things, & that’s even worse. There’s a flying motorcycle in the game, (mk2 oppressor) that’s 3.8million in game credits, that’ll take you forever to earn, unless you spend $40 real dollars to buy it.

to answer the title, we don’t. we just play the game because it’s the only thing to play for now.
I don't love it. It's just one of the only games I know of that you can't have down time with friends and not shoot constantly unless YOU start it up.
Who ever is writing some of the dialog for characters in the online need to be put down, Lester talks way too much and those two characters in the turners update are just cringy with all they sexual innuendo.
Imagine still playing a decade old live service trash game.
