Excellent class. Coming from a country with a tradition of Roman Law ("Civil Law"), it helped me a lot to understand the approach to contracts in other legal systems. Thanks for sharing.

Prof Geis is a brilliant professor. I wished he would have dived a little deeper into consideration. Contract formation comprise of offer, acceptance, and consideration. If these are met, then a binding valid K exist between the parties. Of course there are performance issues, breach, and discharge/remedies associated with contracts as well.

In the 1st advertisement, it could be contended that the value was specific enough to expect at least a coat worth the value of the cheapest coat, "to $100" in the store on the date of the offer.

Can't say about US, but in Europe Uber drivers enter into the contract with the passenger after the passenger gets into the car and the driver starts the engine. And actually, some drivers like to trick the rule: may keep the car engine off, first ask 'where are you going?' and then accept or refuse to drive you based on your answer.

I think a short answer to all their "what ifs" is that companies have policies in place. With all their examples, stores, uber, etc etc the language is important and they put clauses in to protect the employee, the consumer, etc. So that's why it's so important to make sure everything is specified. For example, with the uber driver they have clauses/policies and inform the consumer if they cannot find you after X time they have the right to cancel, just things like that...companies can put legal policies in place to address all the different cases to avoid any law suits

Civilian ownership of military aircraft has stipulations which may preclude civilian ownership.
FAA also has standards tests for ownership of any aircraft but does not necessarily preclude ownership, for instance, if the buyer has no pilot certificates.
The FAA has concerns for safe equipment, operations, safe and qualified pilots. FAA certifies aircraft for air worthiness. An aircraft may be air worthy but don't get caught flying an aircraft you are not qualified to fly.
What this means is, FAA can ground your aircraft indefinitely such that, you will need to truck it to where ever it needs to be for making it air worthy. In turn, this means the cost of ownership can be very expensive. Is it worth owning? 😢

    Heres my thoughts,
He won according to thete terms, they used his work! Then earned two cars or equivalent value. If not available.
How much does one earn to do that job, plus consultation, plus all hus rights come in seeing they didn't pay!
Probably looking in millions, average it out to be fair, people make alot money for adds and slogans which were used and services not rendered. Breached terms and conditions. Talk restitution on top of
